"Yes," Alexa responded rolling her eyes. She couldn't tell if he was being sarcastic or not, but she didn't care, "Quite a lot actually."

@ShadeStar

Alexa bit back a growl and continued with him. She took a deep breath in and out, "I probably have more brainpower than you do."

@ShadeStar

Alexa took a deep breath and made her way towards the breakfast area just a tad bit faster, "Let's just get this over. Then we can discuss who is right and who is wrong."

@PrettyLittlePyro

"Fine by me." Some time ago, she had let go of his arm, and he had no idea when that had happened. Following a few steps behind her, hands in his pockets, he jerked his head at a table. "Wait here. We're supposed to wait until someone comes up to us and says the code phrase."

@ShadeStar

Alexa nodded and sat down at the table. She didn't know when she had let go, but it was probably sometime in between the comments. She fiddled with her fingers, "That sounds like something the System would do."

@PrettyLittlePyro

(Oh my gosh! I am so sorry, I swear I replied!)

"Oh, absolutely," he agreed, leaning back in the chair, which creaked under his weight.

A young woman wearing too much makeup appeared. "Do you have any cash?" She asked in a bored tone. "I forgot my wallet upstairs."

@ShadeStar

(Lol it's fine!)

Alexa raised an eyebrow. This lady looked like someone who worked for the system, but she couldn't recall ever being told the code phrase. Probably another thing Arsen wasn't going to tell her. She glanced over at Arsen silently asking if this was it. This was the code phrase the System came up with?

@PrettyLittlePyro

Smirking inwardly at the thought of knowing something she didn't, Arsen glanced back at the lady. "No, I don't, sorry, but I can come with you to get your money."

It was a creepy, and frankly disturbing phrase, and he didn't know why they had thought of it, but the woman seemed satisfied. She turned and started to walk toward the elevator, not looking to see if the two were following. Arsen stood with a sigh and began to follow her.

@ShadeStar

Alexa sighed mentally and stood up with Arsen. She kept her head high and followed after the women. That was by far the worst code phrase she had ever heard. She could have easily come up with better phrases in seconds.

@PrettyLittlePyro

The woman brought them to the elevator, and Arsen stood in the corner as all three of them waited for the floors to tick past. The woman, who had clicked the button to floor 17, didn't seem inclined to talk, and so he didn't feel comfortable doing that.

@ShadeStar

Alexa would have started to talk but knew all too well there was a camera in the elevator. She made no motion to speak and stood in the other corner leaning against the wall waiting for them to arrive in the room. At least she hoped they were going to a room.

@PrettyLittlePyro

When it finally stopped, the woman stepped from the elevator, high heels clicking on the metal of the separator. Arsen reluctantly followed, pulling on the collar of his shirt as if trying to get more air.

She led them into a room, sliding her card along the lock. Inside was a normal hotel room, but sitting on the couch was a big, beefy man covered in tattoos.

He glanced up from a small book the size of his massive palms as they walked in, set it down, and stood. "Ah. Arsen Silversen and Alexa Law, I presume?" His voice was calm, cool and cultured, completely at odds with his terrifying, wild appearance.

@ShadeStar

Alexa saw the man on the couch and was pleasantly surprised they weren't dealing with Ms. Cake-Face. She gave him a small nod and smile offering him a hand to shake if he so wished, "That would be us."

@PrettyLittlePyro

He laughed and shook her hand, his easily engulfing her own. "Polite, too! Ms. Law, am I right?"

Arsen smiled awkwardly and stuck out his own hand. "Yup. That's her."

The big man shook Arsen's hand, and then smiled at the two of them. "Well met! I'm Roger Pidgeon. You can call me Pidge."

@ShadeStar

Alexa was smiling and took her hand back. This was much more towards her area of expertise. She gave him a nod, "It's a pleasure to meet you Pidge."

@ShadeStar

Alexa nodded and sat down on the couch hoping Arsen would take the cue well, "I've been a bit out of the loop as of late. Mind if you tell me what we were called in for today?"
