Third Person's POV:
Jude's grip loosened before he tightened it again.
"Do you think I'm afraid of your little best friend? What's she going to do?"

(Oh damn)
(Oh damn)
(Dude is really pushing his luck :o)
Ashley's POV:
I shrugged, seeing the person in question over his shoulder. "That depends on if you let go of me before she gets here or not."
Eden's POV:
Sometimes I wondered why people were oblivious. This guy was clearly way up in his ego, thinking he could challenge my best friend, insult my brother, and get away with it.
"Why would I be scared of her?" The idiot scoffed, still not letting go of Ashley. "Like I said, what's she even going to do?"
"Why don't you let her go and find out?" I finally spoke, my voice cold. The guy froze, his grip loosening on Ashley. "You've clearly got some nerve… Insulting my brother, attempting to hurt my best friend…"
I looked across at Ashley, staring at her straight in the eyes.
"Did he hurt you, Lee?" I inquired, rubbing my fist.
Ashley's POV:
I smiled. That was the Eden I knew and loved. My best friend was certainly one of a kind, that was for sure.
"I mean, other than his squeezing my wrist, I'm fine," I assured her with a shrug. "I'm just annoyed that he thinks he can talk about Lucas that way."
Eden's POV:
I looked at the guy with obvious disdain, clicking my tongue in annoyance.
"If I ever see you again…" my voice dropped to a cold whisper. "If I see you ever look at Ashley, even talk about her, I will break you down piece by piece. I'll make sure you suffer every second of having your life destroyed right in front of your eyes. Do you understand me?"
He didn't answer.
"Do you understand me?"
He finally nodded, his fear clear on his face before he ran. I turned to the rest of the crowd, my eyes burning with fury.
"The same goes for you," I hissed. "Think about messing with my people and I'll ruin you."
Ashley's POV:
"All right, E, I think they get it," I chuckled, reaching out to put my hand on her arm. "Thanks for that. You're the best, you know?"
Eden’s POV:
I sighed, rubbing the back of my head.
“Always there for you, Lee,” I said in reply. “I wish I could have punched him at least once.”
I shook my head.
“Have you seen Sterling? My phone’s out of battery,”
Ashley's POV:
"Nope, not yet. I'm sure he'll show, though. Do you want to call him on my phone?" I offered, pulling my phone out of my pocket and holding it out for her.
Eden’s POV:
I bit my lower lip before nodding. I really wanted to hear his voice.
I took her phone and dialed Sterling’s number, pressing the phone to my ear while waiting for him to answer.
Sterling's POV:
I was running late. Yeah… I'd stopped to pick something up for Eden, and it ended up taking longer than I thought it would.
My phone started to ring right as I pulled into the driveway, and the screen told me it was Ashley. Why was she calling me? Had something else happened?
"Hey, Ashley. What's up?" I wondered, stepping out of my car and quickly grabbing my things.
Eden’s POV:
I rolled my eyes, although I couldn’t blame him. I was calling from Ashley’s phone.
“Hello, Sterling,” I greeted him in a blank tone. “What’s up?”
Sterling’s POV:
I grinned as soon as I heard her voice. Gosh, I was becoming a lovesick puppy now, wasn’t I?
“Eden! Hey, I just got to school. Where are you? I’ll meet you there,” I said as I stepped into the building and glanced around for her. “And why aren’t you calling me on your phone?”
Eden’s POV:
I smiled lightly at the tone of his voice.
“My phone died,” I answered with a sigh. “And I’m with Lee in front of her locker.”
Sterling's POV:
"Ah, okay. I'm nearly there, then. See you in a few?" I said as I made my way to them, hardly looking where I was going.
Eden’s POV:
I hummed in reply, already fighting the want to kiss him. I hung up and gave the phone back to Ashley.
“Thank you,” I said to her, smiling. “Are you doing okay, Lee?”
Ashley's POV:
I had watched her talking to Sterling with a carefully guarded interest. She really had fallen for him, hadn't she?
"Yeah, I'm fine. Don't worry about me. Sterling okay?" I wondered, trying to keep the knowing smirk off of my face.
Eden’s POV:
I raised an eyebrow at Ashley, trying to calm my racing heart. I knew what she was trying to do, that little Carter.
“Sterling’s perfect,” I answered with a smile. “Why do you ask?”
Ashley's POV:
I shrugged and smiled back at her innocently. "You just seemed worried, that's all," I answered. And I'm sure you think he's perfect. You're totally smitten. I can see it in your eyes.
Eden’s POV:
I ran a hand through my hair, chewing on my lower lip.
“I care about him,” I finally said. “A lot.”
Ashley's POV:
"I know, E," I said, my smile softening. "I can tell. And he cares about you a lot, too. You guys are so amazing together."
Eden's POV:
"I know he does," I said quietly. "It feels nice…"
Sterling's POV:
I snuck up on Eden from behind, gesturing to Ashley to keep quiet.
"It feels nice…" my girlfriend said softly, right before I covered her eyes with my hands.
"One: guess who? And two: what feels nice?" I murmured softly in her ear.
Eden's POV:
I jumped, ready to fling whoever it was on the wall before I realized who it was. My cheeks immediately flared, my heart hammering wildly in my chest.
"S… Sterling…?" I stammered, trying to do anything but think about how close he was, how close his mouth was to my ear, how his breath was tickling my ear–I immediately shook my head, removing his hands from my eyes and looking back to glare at him. "What if I had hurt you?"
