Eden’s POV:

“I’ve…” I mumbled and I knew my face was extremely red at this point. Who knew it would be hard admitting something like this to the person you liked? “Never gone thay far before…”

Sterling’s POV:

I had assumed that, but her words touched me. I was glad she felt comfortable enough with me to tell me that.

“That’s okay. Not everyone has. It’s nothing to be ashamed of. If anything, it’s rather impressive. That means that you have a lot more self control than a lot of other people, including myself,” I said softly, pressing a light kiss to her head.

Eden’s POV:

I sighed under his touch.
“I’m not embarrassed that I’m still untouched,” I told him with a frown. “It’s embarrassing because I’m telling it to you.”
His words, however, made me feel good. He wasn’t disappointed, so that was good. He sounded rather glad, which made it even better.

Sterling's POV:

I blinked, somewhat surprised by what she'd said. "You're embarrassed to be telling me? Do you mind my asking why?"

Eden’s POV:

I didn’t know how to answer that question. Knowing the reason and explaining was different. It was difficult.
“I’m inexperienced,” I rubbed the back of my head. “I… don’t want to disappoint you, Sterling…”

Sterling's POV:

Oh. She was worried about disappointing me? Because she was inexperienced?

"Eden, look at me, please," I said softly, taking her face in gentle hands and tilting her head up so that her eyes met mine. "I would never be disappointed in you because of that. Just because you're inexperienced, doesn't mean that it'll go badly. It just means that I'll be sure to take care of you."

Eden’s POV:

“I’m sorry…” I whispered, not knowing what else to say. “This is the real me. Scared and fearful when I’m in situations like these. It can get annoying, I know, and I’m trying to control myself but I’m still scared that I might end up losing you because I’m not good enough. No matter how hard I try, I can’t help but think that way. Things like these… they aren’t made for the rebel.”

Sterling's POV:

I leaned down and pressed a gentle kiss to her lips, pulling away to look her in the eye kindly. "That's okay, Eden. I wanted to learn who you are, and I meant that. You're not annoying, I promise. I still like you the way you are. If anything, I might like you even more, now that you've trusted me enough to be open about this. So thank you for trusting me."

Eden’s POV:

I opened my mouth to say something when the bell rang, signaling the end of lunch. I forced a disappointed groan down my throat.
“Amazing timing, huh?”

Sterling’s POV:

“Yeah…” I sighed, disappointed that we couldn’t finish our conversation. “I suppose we should go, then. I’ll catch you after school?”

Eden’s POV:

I hummed in agreement.
“Catch you after school,” I repeated.

(Skip: A few days before prom night.)

Sterling's POV:

I chewed on the inside of my cheek as I waited for Eden in my car outside of her house. I don't think I've been this nervous about something since… Well, since ever, actually.

Tonight was the night. I had a nice dinner planned for us, and then I was going to take her to the park. I'd managed to get Lucas and Ashley to come with to take pictures, and Lucas was supposed to bring the sign I'd made.

Yeah, I made a sign. This was a promposal, after all. Though I hoped that Eden had no idea what was coming. All I needed to do was remain calm enough that she wouldn't get suspicious.

Eden’s POV:

I wasn’t sure why Sterling wanted to meet up with me, but I wasn’t about to complain. Unfortunately, it just meant I had to postpone watching a variety show.
I walked out of my house, finding Sterling leaning against his car. From his posture, he looked nervous. I raised an eyebrow, but didn’t think much of it.
“Hello, there,” I greeted with a smile. “What a nice surprise.”

Sterling's POV:

My nervousness all but vanished at the sight of her. She would say 'yes'. I knew she would.

I grinned and leaned down to quickly peck her on the lips. "'Hello there' yourself. Are you ready to go?"

Eden’s POV:

“Go where?” I raised an eyebrow, fighting off the smile, pretending his little action didn’t bother me. “You still haven’t told me where we’re going.”

Sterling's POV:

"Out to dinner," I replied with a cheeky grin as I took her hand and pulled her to the passenger side of the car. "Now hurry up and get it. We have a reservation to meet."

That was only partially true, actually. There wasn't one at the restaurant, but I had given Lucas and Ashley a time that we would be at the park. I didn't want to make them wait.

Eden’s POV:

I let Sterling push me into his car, chuckling quietly to myself. It was nice to see him excited like this. I couldn’t wait to see the surprise he most definitely had for me.
“And how long do we have?”

Sterling's POV:

I winked at her as I shut her door, then made my way back to my seat. After sitting down and closing the door behind myself, I started the car. That's for me to know and you to find out."

Eden’s POV:

I simply rolled my eyes and enabled Bluetooth for the car. I took out my phone and scrolled through my music, tapping on This Is Gospel by Panic! At The Disco.
“I don’t really know much about you,” I said, looking at Sterling curiously. “We don’t know much about each other.”

Sterling's POV:

I hummed a bit. She was right, actually… We really didn't know that much about each other.

"Well, what do you want to know? We could play 20 Questions or something like that," I suggested with a shrug.
