“These are real books!” Wilhelm huffed, picking up a book on plant anatomy and showing it to Connor. “Don’t act so elitist!”

@GoblinKing

“I think I have a dictionary here somewhere, give me a moment.” Wilhelm held up a finger to signify that the conversation was on pause until he dug it up from underneath his bed. “Ah. Here it is..” He shuffled for the page. “Care for me to read the definition of a book?”

@GoblinKing

Wilhelm cleared his throat. “Ahem- quoth the raven, a book is: ‘a written or printed work consisting of pages glued or sewn together along one side and bound in covers’. Nowhere does that say that is has to be fiction.”

@GoblinKing

“I don’t think that I am, no.” Wilhelm replied smartly with a shake of his head. “And if I’m going to make a sort of equivalency here.. one could say that I’m attracted to the wrong sort of person just how I read the wrong sort of books, but I don’t think that either are correct.” He didn’t know how well that argument would hold up- he hoped not well, that Connor knew that half of his ‘debate arguments’ were just dry jokes.

Connor squinted. "Ah'm attracted teh the same type o' people yeh are, so dinnae e'en start tha' up." he replied, shaking his head at Wilhelm.

@GoblinKing

“I had a feeling that one wouldn’t work.” Wilhelm snickered, flopping onto his back. He turned his head to look over at Connor. “But in all seriousness, what do you think so wrong with nonfiction?”

@GoblinKing

“..Gross. Okay. That’s.. an opinion to have, sure.” Wilhelm nodded knowingly, his expression indecipherable. “I can respect that.”

@GoblinKing

(alright, gn!)

“I know, I know. But fiction can’t teach me the same way nonfiction can.” Wilhelm sighed, rolling onto his side to made talking to Connor easier.

@GoblinKing

“Sure, but not the same way.” Wilhelm repeated. “For example, it can’t show me the placement of the stamen on a tiger lily as accurately, can it?”

@GoblinKing

“If you say so.” Wilhelm chuckled, scratching his neck. “I’ll get you to appreciate nonfiction if it kills me.”
