Connor sighed. "Mm. Ah guess ah'll have ta find some other way ta entertain myself."
Connor sighed. "Mm. Ah guess ah'll have ta find some other way ta entertain myself."
Wilhelm looked up at Connor, head tilted. “For example..?”
(I gtg soon)
Connor blinked, and shrugged. "Ah don't know." he replied with a laugh, stretching out on his bed.
(alright, gn in advance!)
Wilhelm stood, walking back to his place in front of the window. “I can’t judge you too harshly for that, I’m not sure what I really want to do either.” He tugged at the hem of his cardigan before beginning to fiddle with the top button of his shirt.
(Gn!)
Connor laughed softly, and nodded. "Mm. Alright." he replied softly. He ran his fingers through his hair.
Wilhelm unbuttoned the first two buttons of his shirt, trying to find his vague reflection in the window. He preened a bit, as usual, but his attention drifted away from himself and towards the greenery outside.
Connor looked over at Wilhelm for a moment, then away again, sighing. He didn't know what to do or say.
Raindrops pelted the plant life outside, the water rolling off of their leaves in waves. Wilhelm pressed his index finger against his lip, releasing a quiet sigh as he watched.
Connor's eyes lingered on Wilhelm again, and he chewed on his lower lip for a moment.
“Is it weird to say that I almost envy those plants?” Wilhelm’s voice was quiet, and he bit his tongue, anticipating a negative response.
Connor raised his eyebrows. "Depends on why yeh envy them." He replied with a smile, sitting up and looking at Wilhelm.
Wilhelm shrugged, tugged at his collar. “I’m not too sure why.” He rapped softly on the windowpanes. “I can’t even say that it’s because they grow freely, because they don’t. Not here, at least. Maybe it’s the sheer beauty of them, although I may sound incredibly shallow when I say that..”
"Oh. Ah thought yeh meant because o' the rain." He shrugged slightly, chuckling a little bit.
Wilhelm looked at Connor, giving him a small but lopsided smile. “I don’t think so. That might be part of it, but I hate being caught in the rain.” He chuckled, shaking his head.
Connor chuckled. "Ah love th' rain. Ah mean…I'm from here, so that's probably why." He smiled a little.
Wilhelm tipped his head in acknowledgment. “I understand that. Not to say that I agree, per say, but we’ve had this discussion before, I believe.”
Connor nodded. "Ah think we have." he replied with a shrug. He smiled slightly. "Bu' it's still fun."
“What did you say last time? ‘Agree to disagree’? Yeah.” Wilhelm smiled and his eyes trailed back outside the window.
He chuckled. "Alright, alright." he smiled at Wilhelm though, and stretched.
He rocked on his heels, eventually stopping to lean on the windowsill. His elbows rested on the dark wood, his head cocked to one side as he watched his peers scurry inside, seeking shelter from the rain.
Connor took a deep breath, and sat up. He didn't know what to say or do now.
Wilhelm stretched, straightening his posture and sucking in a breath as well. He walked back to his bed, tugging off his sweater and rolling his shirt sleeves to his elbows.
Connor pulled out the necklace from under his shirt, playing with it between his fingers. He pictured his mother wearing it, as she had nearly every day of his life.
Wilhelm watched Connor play with the necklace for a moment, fairly curious. He could ask, although he may be overstepping boundaries and that was the last thing he wanted.
Connor bit his lip, worrying it between his teeth and looking outside again for a moment, then down at the necklace again.
