Jax smiled before yawning. “This gosh darn cat is making me tired.” He protested weakly while the cat just stared at him innocently.
"Shh, just shut your mouth and pet the kitty. You'll be a lot easier to handle when you're asleep."
“Bully..” Jax mumbled under his breath, poking her very gently before continuing to pet the cat.
"Love you too." She giggled, nuzzling his neck softly.
Jax chuckled softly, letting his eyes slide closed as he hummed softly.
She felt Jax falling asleep on her but she didn't really mind, finding it kind of soothing.
Finally he fell completely quiet, still leaning against her.
“Told you he’d fall asleep soon.” Ethan said.
"Well yeah, I see that. But now what do I do with him? I'm stuck!"
Ethan chuckled softly. “I got him.” He walked over to the two of them, gently picking Jax up. Surprisingly, it looked effortless when he did it. So maybe the nerd did have some muscles after all. Ethan carefully set Jax on his bed.
"Wow okay strong man, didn't see that one coming." She laughed, nudging his side playfully.
He smiled. “Yeah I have to do this a lot so I just kinda got used to it.” He said with a shrug.
"Well, once again, it's just you and me. Surprise surprise."
“Yeah..how much longer do you think you’ll be up?”
"How long do you think you can tolerate me being up?"
He shrugged. “Good question.”
"Then I guess we'll find out together. Although I think my legs might go numb before then."
He chuckled. “Why’s that?”
"Everyone knows that you never move a cozy cat and this cat is very cozy in my lap."
“Well I guess you’re trapped then.” He shrugged.
"Hey, I never said I wanted to, I just said that I couldn't."
“Either way.” He sat down on the floor next to her.
"You know, I think you let people underestimate you so they get surprised when they get to see what you're really like."
“Maybe…it’s not really purposeful though.”
"Maybe it isn't but it certainly works. And honestly, it's kind of exciting."
