"Mm? What is it?" Nich asked. "What happened to them?"

"Yeah..I was going to ask before but it seemed rude…"

"It's fine. I grew up in a… dangerous town. There was a war there. My hometown was an active war zone. There were landmines in and around the town. A lot of kids were hurt and injured by them, me included." Nich explained.

"How did you..survive that?

"I got very lucky." Nich sighed softly. "Now I have fake legs. Had to go to a hospital in another city that could properly treat my injuries."

"Jesus Chris…I'm sorry that must have been hard for you..and your family. "

"Yeah, it was pretty expensive… and, you know, emotional stuff." Nich shrugged. "I lost a few friends the same way, so I'm lucky to have survived it."

Ember shook her head "why would anyone also their kids to run around in a place like that."

Nich shrugged again. "It was stupid. I always thought so. My parents were very attached to our hometown because they remembered the way it was before the war, so they refused to leave even when it was dangerous. I ran off on my own when I was a teenager. I love my parents, but I couldn't live there anymore."

"Was that before or after what happened to you?"

"After. I was a kid when that happened." Nich explained. "Was about… eight or nine? Ran off when I was fourteen or fifteen, somewhere around there, and came here to live with my sister for a while. She'd moved out a while back."

"So it's pretty much normal for you guys to leave huh?"

"Yeah, I guess so. I doubt there's a lot of people there anymore. The war isn't still happening, but the city is still pretty dangerous."

(Oop shit I just realized the time after I reply sadly I have to go to bed so I can call my bf later XD)

ember sighed and looked out over all the trees in this spot you were barely able to see the tops of some of the buildings in the city and she looked over at nich "what's it like out there? Around people and the buildings
.stuff like that."

(That's fine lol, it's like 3 am for me so I should probably sleep)

"Mm?" Nich looked over at her and then turned his gaze to where she was looking. "Oh, well… it's not so bad. I like the market and such. Having to stay hidden isn't great, though. Humans aren't fond of our kind."

(It was like 3:15 for me I think lol)

"But you shift..you can roam amongst them?"

"If I hide my ears and such in my humanoid form, yeah. As long as I look like one of them, I can roam as I please."

"That sounds amazing actually, I've never been to the city I've had to stay here. "

"Well, I can show you around sometime if you want." Nich offered. "There's some interesting stuff."

"I doubt I'll be able to leave but I appreciate that."

Nich nodded. "No problem… if you ever think you can, I'm happy to. Should we bring them back to the pack?"

Ember nodded before looking over at the teo boys "i suppose we should it will probably di them some good to get some rest."

"Yeah… Finn still doesn't look like he's in very good shape. He probably shouldn't transform back while he's injured, right? It would make it worse." Nich got to his feet.

"Im not sure how we're going to be able to get him back though.." Ember stood up around the same time nich did, looking over a the bous and at the direction back to the pack

"We could carry him. Or Teagan could, maybe. He should be more than strong enough to carry Finn." Nich shrugged.
