"Well, yeah. I mean, I'm sure he hides the whole…" He gestured to himself, "…y'know. There's some magic stuff available that can disguise your appearance. He wants his kids to be able to live comfortable lives, not stuck in the forest fighting for their lives."
"Eh it builds character that's how I grew up and I did just fine I still am. " she spoke jokingly with her head high
Nich shrugged. "Well, y'know… he wants them to be able to socialize with other kids and have friends and stuff. Not have to be isolated and hidden all the time."
"Yeah I guess that's understandable but it could put them in danger. "
"Yeah. I dunno, they're not my kids. It's not up to me." Nich replied. "They seem to like hanging out with me, though. Don't have to hide their fox features."
"Yeah I know I'm just saying what if something happens and one of them slip up you never know, " she smiled a little bit at the last thing he said " u bet it always feels good to shift and burn some of that energy that's what it was like for me what u was that age. "
"Yeah. They're pretty good about keeping it under wraps, though." Nich smiled as well and kept walking. "They love to blow off steam in the yard. They fight each other kinda like your brothers do but I don't think they've ever actually hurt each other. Not badly, anyway."
"Damn its usually so simple for them here they never really have to worry about anything besides staying in this area because of the hunters they're not safe to leave that's why I don't let the boys leave. "
"Yeah… they don't look much like you, though. Is your mother a blonde?" Nich asked curiously, noticing that Finn and Teagan's fur was much lighter in color than Ember's. They really didn't resemble her at all.
"Oh um their not my biological brothers we found them when they were basically babies. "
"Oh, that makes sense. Did someone abandon them or something?" Nich asked, tilting his head to the side a bit.
(They probably would've run away since their parents were scared of them after they were bitten)
(Yeah that makes sense )
"They were bitten and their parents were scared of what they might do so they ran away me and my Father we found them when he was taking me out to hunt. "
Nich nodded a bit. "That sucks… I hate that parents do that. My kind are born, not bitten, so it's a little different, but… I'm sure they get backlash because they're so rowdy as well." He couldn't see Finn and Teagan, but he could hear them.
"Eh well they are safe warm and well-fed here they have good lives so does everyone, it's my job to protect my pack and my family I'm next in line to be alpha and that is honestly… terrifying it puts more pressure on what I already do."
Nich nodded again. "Yeah, that makes sense… we don't live in packs usually, so there's not a lot of pressure on specific responsibilities. I rarely run into other people like me, actually. Yuri's husband is one of the few others I've met."
"You don't live packs I knew that but it's strange, why would you put yourself in danger like that? it makes no sense at all. "
Nich shrugged. "I guess we're just more solitary by nature. Family groups live together, but not usually past that."
"Yeah that's still strange though… "
"I guess so. I don't mind being in the city. You have access to more stuff there." Nich explained. "More food and transportation and all sorts of things."
"We have to big of a population for that and people would get suspicious, I don't think anyone really cares about you guys running around, but us? Oh no we have to be exterminated. "
"Yeah, I guess so. Most of us hide ourselves anyways, but I don't think it's technically legal to kill us? Foxes are a sacred animal to some cultures, so some people might pitch a fit if there was a movement to exterminate us."
Ember nodded "yeah I suppose so…oh here we are food come on." She fell silent as she walked over to a deer carcass and sat down before looking over at inch "there isn't much yet but your welcome to eat what you wanted this."
"Oh, thanks." Nich walked closer to the deer and sat beside it to eat. He didn't eat a whole lot, not wanting to take too much of the wolves' food. He was sure that some of them were probably food aggressive.
Ember smiled a little and worked on the other end of the deer not looking at any one or anything but the meat
Nich soon finished and stepped back to get out of the wolves' way. He was still worried that they might try and attack him, so he looked around warily.
