“Yeah, it’s English,” Nick confirmed. “It’s just down this hall.”
“Yeah, it’s English,” Nick confirmed. “It’s just down this hall.”
"Okay!" Cas smiled softly and followed Nick to his next class. "Thanks!" He waved as he headed in with Nix.
Nick grinned, waving back. After a moment, he sighed and headed off his own next class. Hopefully Ian would be absent, since they shared a second hour.
(Time skip?)
(yeah, to lunch? lol)
(Probably yeah)
Cas was already at lunch by the time Nick arrived, quietly eating a sandwich that he had brought from home.
Nick sat next to him, digging into his school chicken drumsticks. The school’s chicken was surprisingly good compared to everything else they served.
"How are your classes going?" Cas asked Nick softly as they ate. "I haven't been paying much attention as usual… I don't understand any of it anyway. It's pretty frustrating sometimes."
“They’re going all right,” he said. “Math is hard, but it’s never been my strong suit.”
Cas nodded a bit and took another bite of his sandwich. "Well, I'm sure you're a lot better at it than I am." He laughed.
“Do you want me to help you with math too?” Nick asked, kindly. “Because I can try.”
"Y-Yeah, that'd be great… I don't know anything school related." Cas sighed.
Nick smiled. “Hopefully I can be a good tutor, then.”
"Hopefully." Cas laughed softly and kept eating. "I haven't seen Brandon or Ian today… where do you think they are?"
“I don’t know and I don’t care either as long as they don’t cause trouble,” Nick responded. “Although it’s possible that they’re on vacation or something. Their families are pretty close, so it wouldn’t be a surprise.”
"Mm… makes sense. I've never left the city before." Cas yawned a bit and looked down at the table. "Is it fun?"
“Yeah, I’d say it is. Maybe after I teach you math we can go on trip.” Nick smiled.
Cas flushed a bit at the offer. "O-Oh, you really don't need to bring me anywhere, Nick… I'm sure it's expensive, and I'm not even old enough to drive."
“We can just go to an amusement park or something. Maybe your foster parents would pay for the tickets? If not, my parents probably would. It’d be fun.”
"Yeah, they might… they've been wanting me to make friends anyway. I've never been to an amusement park before."
“It’ll be fun!” Nick enthused. “You should talk to them about it.”
Cas nodded a bit as he considered. "Alright… I'll ask them today and tell you what they said tomorrow."
Nick beamed. “Sounds great!”
Cas smiled softly in return. "I'd let you know sooner if I had a phone, but I'll tell you as soon as possible."
“It’s going to be so fun!” Nick cheered, already getting excited.
