Nick rolled his eyes. “Only if you wolf it down like that.”
Nick rolled his eyes. “Only if you wolf it down like that.”
Cas huffed and slowed down a bit so he wouldn't get another brain freeze. "How come it's gotta hurt when it tastes good?"
Nick laughed. “Dunno,” he responded. “Maybe it’d be too perfect without the whole brain freeze bit?”
"I guess…" Cas sighed, finishing off his bowl of ice cream. "What do we do now?" He asked.
“Wait for me to finish,” Nick teased, nearing the end of his own ice cream.
"Fine, fine…" Cas sat down on the table and sighed, waiting for Nick to finish.
Nick finished up his ice cream and grinned. “Ice cream eaten, check.”
"Alright. What are some other normal people things that I probably haven't done before?" He asked.
“Playing video games?” Nick suggested. “Ridden a bike?”
Cas shook his head. "Nope. Never." He glanced around the room.
“Which would you like to start with then?” asked Nick with a grin.
"Um… video games are probably less dangerous, to be honest. I don't really need to be falling over right now…"
Nick nodded. “Sounds great to me! So would you rather play MarioKart or SuperSmashBros? You should start with something easy.”
"I don't know what they are, so… whichever one is easier, I guess. "Cas shrugged. "I've got no idea."
Nick grinned. “I guess that’d be MarioKart?” he said. “C’mon, let’s go to the living room because everything’s set up in there.”
"Mmkay." Cas followed Nick to the living room and sat down on the couch, examining the TV curiously.
Nick turned on the playstation, handing Cas a controller. He explained to Cas how to play MarioKart.
Cas nodded a bit, taking a minute or two to just look at the control and get used to what buttons supposedly did what.
“Are you ready to actually play?” Nick asked, everything ready now.
"Um… I think so. I probably won't do very well, though." Cas laughed weakly.
“It’s your first time, no one does well their first time,” Nick responded with a reassuring smile. He hit the button to start the game and chose a racetrack. An easy one, of course. Then the race began.
Cas had Nick help him turn on assisted steering before they actually did anything and then started. He wasn't doing very well, as expected, but he was trying.
Nick was in first place, trash talking all of the computers. He didn’t even look over at Cas until the race was over, he had been focusing so hard. “You’re doing good!” he encouraged.
"I'm in last, though…" Cas kept going, eventually crossing the finish line. "I keep picking up shells and stuff, but I dunno what I'm supposed to do with them."
“You throw at them at people, using this button,” Nick demonstrated. “Or if it’s a mushroom or a star it gives you power like speed or invincibility. You can use the invincibility to hit the other people away so you can pass them. Ready for the second race?”
