Aukai laid down on Alex's chest, her eyes fluttering shut at his touch. Her hair was almost liquid-like in it's texture and just as smooth and soft. It flowed under, over, and between his fingers lightly.
Aukai laid down on Alex's chest, her eyes fluttering shut at his touch. Her hair was almost liquid-like in it's texture and just as smooth and soft. It flowed under, over, and between his fingers lightly.
I'm never letting anyone hurt her, he vowed to himself. He put his chin down softly on her head, one arm holding her close. His fingers lightly played through her hair, wanting her to be happy.
Aukai smiled sadly and opened her eyes to thread her fingers through his free hand. I'm going to miss him… She sighed and closed her eyes again.
The palm of his hand felt soft, but his fingers had slight calluses that seemed to cling to Aukai's hand. He closed his eyes, turning his face so he could kiss the top of her head.
Aukai looked up at Alex. "Why did you kiss me?"
"Because I could." He smiled, stroking her hand with his thumb.
Aukai's eyes turned a sea-foam green. She was happy, but also confused and a little upset…
Alex pulled Aukai slightly closer to him. He looked at the clock.
"It seems your prescribed rest time is up."
Aukai hummed softly. "But it's just prescribed, right? That means we can spend more time still, right?" Her eyes were slowly becoming an upset, pale green.
"You kidding me? I'd stay like this forever if I could." He grinned, taking his hand out of her hair and resting it lightly on the small of her back.
Her eyes were still the minty green, even as she smiled and rested back down, soaking up the moment.
Alex closed his eyes, memorizing the feeling of her against him.
Aukai curled up against him, her fingers beginning to trace over his chest through his shirt.
He smiled lightly. It tickled, but he didn't laugh, so as to not disturb Aukai laying on him.
Aukai gently pressed a kiss over his heart, before sitting up slowly.
Alex reluctantly let her sit up. She now sat on his legs, he himself still laying down.
Aukai stretched then winced and grabbed her side. "Ah! Damn, that hurt." She sighed and yawned, slipping off the couch and stumbling a little.
Alex sat up, then stood. He put his hand under her elbow to catch her as she stumbled.
Aukai smiled at him. "Thanks. Suppose we should head for the library then?"
"Yeah. It's just down the road." He moved to the front door and opened it.
"Ladies first."
Aukai smiled and stepped out. "Thank you!" she chirped.
Alex stepped out afterward, closing the door quietly.
Aukai slipped her hand into Alex's and headed down off the porch, then down the sidewalk.
Alex held it gently as they walked, occasionally glancing at her.
Aukai turned her head and grinned at him. She leaned her head on his shoulder. "What do you do every day wen you're on summer break?"
