Eden's POV:
I shot a glare at him and walked into our room, grumbling to myself. I went to my side of the closet, grabbing whatever I needed before walking inside the bathroom.
Once I was done, I stepped out of the shower, grabbing the towel and wiping myself dry. I started dressing, but when I reached for the shirt, I found it in the shower. And yes, it was wet. How did I not notice that? Did it fell when I took the towel?
I bit my lip and hugged my towel close before opening the door slightly.
"Um, Sterling?" I called out, already crossing out the plan to get it myself. What if Sterling walked in while I was shirtless? It would have been extremely embarrassing on my part, even if he was my boyfriend.
Sterling’s POV:
While Eden was in the shower, I pulled out my schoolwork and started doing studying and researching and whatever else needed to be done this week. Hearing her call for me, I glanced up and toward the bedroom from the couch.
“Yeah, babe? What’s up?” I called back.
Eden's POV:
"Could you… please get me a shirt?"
I wanted to laugh at the situation, but I was too flustered to even make fun of myself. What even was I?
(I'm here now, sorry! g'morning)
(It's okay! Good morning!)
(Morning! How are you feeling today?)
Sterling’s POV:
My eyebrows shot up at her request. Had she really forgotten a shirt? That didn’t seem like something she would do…
“Of course. Any preferences?” I asked as I set my things aside and started toward the room.
(I'm good, how're you guys? I am loving this conversation rn, btw)
(I'm good! It's nice to hear that you're doing fine.
I'm loving this conversation, too. xD)
Eden's POV:
I peeked from the door, holding the towel tightly against myself.
"Um… anything works?" I replied quietly. "I dropped mine in the water."
(I'm good, too! Glad you're feeling better.)
Sterling's POV:
My lips twitched as I held back a smile at her words. She had dropped her shirt in water? How had she managed that?
"Okay, babe," I chuckled softly as I opened her dresser and pulled out a shirt. I walked over and handed it to her, trying to keep my eyes on her face. Yes, we were dating, but I was pretty sure she didn't want my eyes all over her like that yet.
Eden's POV:
I know it wasn't a good idea, but I purposefully opened the door a little wider, showing off a little skin of my shoulder–just for payback for all the times he's teased me. Yes, it was nerve-wracking and slightly out of my comfort zone, but I did it anyway.
I smiled at Sterling as I took the shirt.
"Thank you," I said softly. "And I can see you trying hard not to laugh, dear boyfriend."
Sterling's POV:
When she opened the door wider, my eyes immediately flashed across her bare shoulders. She did that on purpose, didn't she? This was her payback; showing me what she wasn't ready to give.
"Mmhm… Sorry, babe, but I just can't believe you managed to drop your shirt in the water," I teased with a small grin as I brought my gaze back up to her eyes.
Eden's POV:
I felt myself tremble when his eyes went to my shoulders before they met my eyes again, but I forced myself to keep an innocent expression on my features.
"It wasn't my fault," I argued. "It fell when I got my towel off."
(They're just torturing each other. Lol.)
Sterling's POV:
I chuckled softly, taking a step back from her. "Ah, I see. So you were just clumsy, then."
(They are. XD)
Eden’s POV:
I stuck my tongue out at him before closing the door gently. I quickly pulled the shirt over myself, the soft garment making me feel fluffy.
I exited the bathroom, my dirty clothes in my hands. I threw them in my laundry basket (I bought two separate baskets for both Sterling and I so I could do our laundry separately) before I hung the towel to dry.
When I walked outside, Sterling was working on his work.
“What are you working on?” I asked, leaning over his shoulder, my hands resting on his shoulders.
Sterling's POV:
"My debate class," I answered Eden, turning to smile at her softly. "I'm trying to find arguments that would work for my side. Did you want to go eat somewhere tonight? I was thinking it might be nice to go out."
Eden’s POV:
I wrapped my arms around his neck, my chin resting on his head.
“Violeta invited us to a party tonight, remember?” I lightly pulled on his ear, a smile on my features. “We can’t eat out.”
(…oops… My brain is focused on PreCalc, sorry. Lol.)
Sterling's POV:
I clicked my tongue, remembering that now. Grabbing Eden's hand, I pulled it away from my ear and to my lips, giving it a light kiss.
"Right, I forgot. What time did it start, again?" I asked.
Eden’s POV:
I pinched his nose lightly, the smile still on my lips.
“Seven,” I answered. “It starts at seven.”
Sterling's POV:
I scrunched my nose up when she pinched it, then grabbed both of her hands. "Stop that. What are you trying to accomplish, babe?"
Eden’s POV:
I looked down at him with an innocent smile on my features.
“What do you mean, Ry?” I tilted my head, pressing a kiss on his cheek, my hands securely in his. I let my lips hover over his skin for a few seconds before I pulled away.
Sterling's POV:
"You're lucky you're behind me," I muttered under my breath, turning to raise an eyebrow at her. "Otherwise, I would probably have you against a wall because of that…"
Eden’s POV:
I stiffened, fireworks exploding in my stomach. My breath hitched and I swallowed thickly. I suppose I was lucky…
“If you really wanted to…” I whispered in his ear, knowing I shouldn’t be testing him but not being able to help myself either. “You would have already done that, no?”
Sterling’s POV:
I grinned at her, some unknown emotion flickering across my eyes. “Is that a challenge, sweetheart?” I asked, my voice low as my gaze flickered to her lips.
Eden’s POV:
His grin sent shivers down his spine and the hungry look in his eyes didn’t make it any better. It was foolish of me to try and wake up the sleeping lion, but unfortunately for me, I was enjoying the thrill.
I licked my bottom lip, trying to return his gaze.
“It depends on how you take it, my dear…”
