Eden’s POV:
My words died immediately in my mouth as I returned Sterling’s heated gaze. I could hear my heartbeat in my ears, the blood rushing in my veins.
“I love your everything…” I murmured, reaching up with my free hand to touch his eyes, his nose, his lips, his cheeks. “I’m so glad I met you. I really am…”
Sterling’s POV:
I tilted her chin up slightly to connect our lips for the umpteenth time that morning. She was like a drug to me; utterly addicting, and something I didn’t want to ever lose.
“I’m thankful that you gave me a chance. And I’m so glad that I used that chance well,” I said softly, pulling away again.
Eden’s POV:
I pressed our lips together again, blindly reaching out to the counter to put my toast on before I wrapped my arms around his neck.
“As am I,” I whispered when we pulled apart. “You kissed me for the first time on our first date, too.”
Sterling’s POV:
I felt my face heat up at the memory of that day. I hadn’t been able to help myself, and I certainly hadn’t regretted it, but I had thought that she hadn’t been okay with it hit. And I didn’t want that.
“What if we, uh, just forget about that, hm? I liked our second kiss better…”
Eden’s POV:
My mouth formed an ‘o’ when his face heated up. Could this be embarrassment? Was my teasing boyfriend getting embarrassed at something like that?
I smirked.
“It was a sudden kiss,” I grinned cheekily. “I meant to push you away, but you took no chances!”
Sterling's POV:
"That's true… But I just didn't want you to be uncomfortable," I admitted in a murmur, shrugging.
Eden’s POV:
“If it makes you feel better…” I trailed off, trying to find the right words, shuffling my feet in embarrassment. “That was the time my brain started to become filled with you. That was the time I began to notice you more. Although unconsciously, that was also the time I began desiring you. So I’d say our first kiss, although I didn’t kiss you back, turned out to be a success.”
Sterling's POV:
She did? It was? Well… I guess, then, that I had no reason to be mad at myself.
"Good… That's good. I'm glad I kissed you, then," I said, grinning down at her.
Eden’s POV:
I rolled my eyes, although my lips were still twisted into a smile.
“I mean, I did spend a sleepless night because of that, but yes, you should be glad.”
Sterling's POV:
"Oh, you were sleepless because of me? Well, I'm flattered," I chuckled, winking at her playfully. "Though I guess I would have to say the same about you. I actually didn't go to school that day because if it, but you knew that."
Eden’s POV:
I shook my head at his comment, chuckling.
“Yeah, I know,” I scowled at that. “I thought you realized you didn’t like me after all. I was miserable.”
Sterling's POV:
My gaze softened and I caressed her face gently. "Sorry, love… I promise that I never meant to concern you like that."
Eden’s POV:
I leaned into his touch, closing my eyes, my scowl dissolving into a soft smile.
“It’s okay,” I murmured. “It wasn’t your fault. And I’m happy now. I have you and I’m happy about that. And as long as I have you—and those lips of yours—I’ll always be happy.”
Sterling's POV:
I chuckled a bit at her words and kissed her again. "Well, you do. You have all of me, both now and forever. You never have to worry about me leaving because I don't think I ever could."
Eden’s POV:
I rested my head against his chest, tightening my hold on him.
“I won’t let you go, anyway,” I said in a rather childish tone. “It’s too late. You’re already mine. I’ll fight anyone who even dares look at you that way.”
Sterling's POV:
I chuckled more and kissed there too of her head. "You're cute, babe… But I will definitely fight anyone who thinks he can take you from me."
Eden’s POV:
“I’m not cute, though,” I frowned, messing with the collar of his shirt. “I’m scary. Plus, I’m sure if they know I belong to you, they’ll definitely think a hundred times before approaching me.”
My thoughts flew towards one particular who did, in fact, try flirting with me. It didn’t count, though, because he apologized at the end. He didn’t try flirting again, which was a surprise.
Sterling's POV:
"You are cute, actually. To me. You don't have to be cute to other people as long as I think you're cute," I insisted softly.
Eden’s POV:
I thought for a moment before nodding in approval.
“That works for me, then,” I nodded. “I can be cute for you. So, if I act cute, will that earn me a kiss?”
Sterling's POV:
I chuckled, shaking my head. Gosh, she was certainly something, wasn't she?
"Sure, babe. You can have one for that question, then," I said, leaving forward to kiss her. Again.
Eden’s POV:
I grinned, satisfied.
“That’s a perfect prize, isn’t it?” My eyes fell on the wall clock. They widened. “Shoot, Sterling, I’ve got ten minutes left to get to class!”
Sterling's POV:
I turned to look at the clock, cursing under my breath when I saw that she was right. I let her go, kissed her forehead, and shoved her towards the door.
"Okay, go, then! Don't be late. Have fun. Bye, love you," I rushed out.
Eden’s POV:
“Wow, so eager to get rid of me!” I rolled my eyes as I let myself be dragged towards the door. “Don’t worry, sweetheart. We’ll see each other fourth block!”
Sterling's POV:
"You know good and well that I'm not at all eager to let you leave. But you need to get going," I chuckled. "I'll see you then, Eden."
Eden’s POV:
I laughed, bid him goodbye, and within a few minutes, I was in class, seated and already bored out of my mind. I couldn’t wait for this class to end already so I could see Sterling again.
We didn’t sit pairs in this class, so I didn’t have to worry about being paired up with an annoying student. Anyway, I almost fell asleep during the class.
