"Pancakes," Autumn declared like it was obvious.

“Oh right!” Alex laughed at himself and started to drive.

"Have you ever had whipped cream on pancakes?" Autumn asked, turning to give him a weird look.

Alex shook his head. “Just butter and syrup.”

"I think you'll like it," Autumn declared, her expression returning to normal. "It's really good."

Alex rolled his eyes and went a little faster. “I’m sure I will!”

Autumn hummed and turned to look out the window. She watched the scenery pass by as they continued their drive to the store.

(Okie doke. Maybe to when they get back, then? Or the morning?

Alex locked the car as they walked into his house. He set his bags down on the counter, unknowingly humming the same song he was earlier. He started to sort out the groceries.

"I'm confiscating this can of whipped cream," Autumn declared with a grin as she grabbed one and held it close.

Alex scoffed, offended. “How dare you! I bought that whipped cream with my money!”

Autumn chuckled and shook the can. "You might have bought it, but you wouldn't have if I hadn't suggested it."

Alex paused, staring at the can. He jolted out and grabbed it. “Haha!”

"Hey!" Autumn exclaimed when the can was suddenly out of her grasp. She pouted at Alex, giving him puppy dog eyes. "No fair…"

Alex chuckled and pecked her nose. “You can have it back tomorrow.” He put it into the fridge.

"But I want it now…" Autumn said, still pouting.

Alex chuckled and hugged her close. “For breakfast!”

"…Early breakfast…?" Autumn suggested, looking up at him with hopeful eyes.

“It’s seven o’ clock at night, Autumn.” Alex rolled his eyes.

"Yup," Autumn said with a grin.
