The next day shone through Alex's windows and onto his face. The clock showed 10:45. Alex ignored this and rolled over onto his shoulder, hugging the second pillow on the bed closer to his chest.

Autumn was already up, wide awake and getting ready for her lunch plans. She chewed on her lip as she went through the clothes in her closet and dresser.

"What to wear, what to wear…" she mumbled to herself.

Alex relaxed into his state of dead-asleep and snored loudly. His grip relaxed on the pillow and it leaned out of his arms.

After almost an hour of trying on basically everything she had brought with her, Autumn finally decided on a gray t-shirt and high-waisted skinny jeans with black converse high tops.

She double checked her outfit in the full-length mirror hanging on the bathroom door and smiled. "Perfect."

Alex snored deeply again. His phone rung and he snorted awake. "Humhum??" He grabbed his phone. a Seller looking for his money.
Alex yawned deeply and looked at the clock. He stared for a few moments then jumped out of the bed as if he just received an electric shock.

(Lol. The stark contrast between morning-person Autumn and not-morning-person Alex…)

Autumn brushed her hair one last time, combing her fingers through the bright pink strands. She checked the time and noticed that it was close to noon.

"I wonder if I should call Alex…"

Alex fled across the room and flung his case of clothes open. He rummaged through them until he found a pair of jeans and a dark blue sweatered v-neck. He tossed them on, combed his hair, and sprayed on a couple squirts of cologne and deodorant, which was a must.

Deciding that it was probably a good idea, Autumn called him. She waited for him to pick up the phone, sitting on the edge of her bed.

Alex scrambled around trying to find his phone and grabbed it.
"Hello?" He sounded breathless.

"Um, hey, it's Autumn," she answered. "Just wondering where we should meet up?"

Alex rubbed his neck. "We could just meet up outside!"

"That sounds good. You ready, then?" Autumn asked as she grabbed a black purse and started out the door.

"Oh, yep. I'll be out in a few. Gotta brush my teeth." He laughed.

"All right, I'll see you in a bit," Autumn laughed as she hung up and started heading outside.

Alex hung up the phone, fished his toothbrush out of his baggage and brushed his teeth. Ah, sweet relief. He put it down carefully, grabbed his wallet and phone, then out the door he went.

Autumn stick a piece of wintergreen gum in her mouth as she walked. Chewing it always helped calm her, and for some reason she was feeling very anxious about lunch.

She made it out to the front of the building, then looked around for Alex. When she didn't see him, she sighed and just waited, chewing her gum.

Alex stumbled down the steps stupidly, then out the front door. He felt a little shaky from the fall, otherwise, he was okay. He glanced around for Autumn and trotted up to her.
"Hey Autumn!"

"Hey! I was just wondering when you would get out here," Autumn greeted him with a grin.

Alex beamed back. "Sorry. I care a lot about my teeth."
Okay, who says that?

"Well that's good," Autumn laughed. "Fewer dentist bills in the future."

Alex laughed with her. "Very true! Shall we go?"

"Yes, let's. I think I'll get a rental car. That way we don't have to take the taxi everywhere. Plus, I'll be here for a while," Autumn said with a shrug as she hailed a taxi.

Alex opened the taxi door for her when it pulled up. "That's a good idea, Autumn. I should get one myself."

Autumn nodded her thanks as she slipped into the car.

"How long were you planning on staying?" she wondered.

Alex plopped down and shut the door. "Dunno. I'll probably stay here for two or three weeks."
