Alex hugged her close to his chest and sighed contentedly. “I’m glad to be your boyfriend.”
Alex hugged her close to his chest and sighed contentedly. “I’m glad to be your boyfriend.”
Autumn grinned and hugged him back, burying her face in his neck. “I love you, Alex…”
Alex leaned his chin on her head, squeezing her. “I love you too, Autumn.”
Autumn sighed happily and leaned into him more. It was nice just getting to be with him alone… They hadn’t had much alone time since they adopted Jillian, not that she was complaining. She loved the girl and was very glad that they had her in their lives. She was just glad for some alone time once in a while.
Alex gently brushed her hair behind her ear, half-closing his eyes. She felt so warm and nice in his arms. With the moonlight shimmering down on the pair of them and the fountain splashing merrily, it was really nice. Is it time? Alex asked himself quietly.
(Yes, it is! It was time a long time ago! Lol.)
“It’s really nice out today,” Autumn mused without moving from her place. She liked being near him like this.
(Lol.)
Alex nodded, smiling a little. “Really nice. I’m glad I chose today.”
“Me too,” Autumn agreed, pulling back just enough that she could smile up at him.
Alex smiled a little and kissed her nose. “Yeah. So… why do you think I took you out tonight?”
“Um… I don’t know, I guess. Maybe just so we could have some time alone?” Autumn guessed with a shrug.
Alex hummed and started rocking them back and forth. “You could say that.”
“So… Are you ever going to tell me the exact reason?” Autumn wondered with a chuckle.
Alex hummed softly, tilting his head. “I’m not sure yet.”
“Babe! C’mon, really?” Autumn pouted, sticking her bottom lip out.
Alex laughed, rolling his eyes. “So you want to know?”
Autumn sighed and raised her eyebrows at him. “Yes, I want to know. Now that you have successfully not told me for the entire date.”
Alex giggled and looked up. “Oooh! Ice cream! The store’s still open. I’ll tell you once the date’s actually over, how about that?”
“Alexander Langton, you are being ridiculous!” Autumn declared with a laugh. “Fine. I suppose I can wait.”
Alex laughed heartily and dragged her to the shop. “Come on! Let me be nostalgic!”
“Yeah, yeah, yeah…” Autumn chuckled as she allowed him to drag her into the store. “I think I’ll just get cookie dough today.”
“Just cookie dough? Their ice cream should be treated with a “the” not a “just”. They’e that good.”
Autumn sighed and rolled her eyes dramatically. “Fine. I will get the cookie dough. Is that better?”
Alex giggled at her expression. “Yep. That’s good.” He stopped at the counter, searching the choices.
“What about you, love? What do you think you’ll get?” Autumn wondered, walking up to lean against him.
Alex wrapped his arm around her, gazing down at the selection. “Hmm… I might get cookies and cream.”
