Alex gently took her hand and rubbed his thumb on the back of her hand. “I bet we will. But I think we should definitely have one, but what about our jobs?”
Alex gently took her hand and rubbed his thumb on the back of her hand. “I bet we will. But I think we should definitely have one, but what about our jobs?”
Autumn chewed on her lip and looked away thoughtfully. “I could take work off… It would be worth it. Though I would like to wait until we’re married before we start having kids…”
Alex gently rubbed his thumb on the back of her hand, looking away too.
“You know, that’s actually why I wanted to come out tonight. It’s a really nice night.”
Autumn turned her gaze back on him, slightly confused. "You wanted to come out… to talk about children? Or… What?" she wondered quietly.
Alex exhaled softly. It would be most unromantic of him if he just came out and told her he wanted to marry her. He would have to tread carefully.
“Marrige. But I wanted to get your opinion on it.”
"Oh… Well, I think it's a good idea… And I certainly wouldn't be opposed to it. I mean, we already practically act like we're married, anyway, except a for a few things," Autumn said with a shrug, her gaze growing curious. "Why did you want to know?"
Alex smiled and nodded a little, glancing back at her. “Right. I dunno. I was just thinking over it.” He kissed her hand gently.
Autumn hummed and nodded slowly. She smiled a bit at the kiss and picked up her glass with her free hand. "Well, then… I suppose that's all there is to it, isn't there?"
Alex lifted his own and clinked it together with hers. “Yep. Well, maybe.”
“How maybe?” Autumn laughed lightly, taking a small drink.
Alex drunk down the rest of his drink. “Mmm… maybe.” He laughed.
Autumn chuckled and shook her head as she ate another steak bite. “Okay, then… I’m just gonna let this go, I guess.”
Alex nodded smartly, smiling. “I would do the same exact thing.”
“M’kay,” Autumn hummed, sipping on her drink. “Are we ready to order?”
Alex grinned lightly. “Yep. If you are, that is.”
Autumn clicked her tongue and glanced at the menu again. “Yeah, I’m ready.”
Alex opened up his menu, eyeing the steak. “Mmmm… alright. Once a waiter comes over we will.”
(Do you want to skip to when they’re done?)
(Sure.)
Autumn gently pushed her plate away with a content sigh. “That was good… And now I’m full,” she added with a chuckle.
Alex wiped up the rest of the steak juices with a fry, humming in agreement.
“Not too full for a dessert, I hope?”
"Oh, never," Autumn laughed. "I could never be too full for dessert."
Alex nodded and went to eat the fry. Once he finished, he grabbed a slim dessert menu.
“They have some incredible cheesecake.”
Autumn clicked her tongue as she looked at a second one. “Cheesecake is the best… We should get that.”
Alex nodded his agreement. “We absolutely should. It’d be a wonderful dessert.”
