Autumn hummed disbelievingly. “Sure, dear. I bet you won’t,” she teased with a small smile.
Autumn hummed disbelievingly. “Sure, dear. I bet you won’t,” she teased with a small smile.
Alex squeezed her hand. “I bet I will.l?
“Wait… So are you going to or are you not?” Autumn wondered, raising an eyebrow at him.
Alex leaned back a bit in the seat, humming in thought. “I’m not sure.”
“Hm. Okay, then… Well, anyway, are we almost there?” Autumn wondered.
Alex hummed along with her, shutting his eyes just a smidge. “Maybe.”
"Maybe? Alex, c'mon…" Autumn chuckled.
Alex laughed softly, tightening the grip on the wheel with his one hand. “Yes. Just a couple more turns.”
Autumn hummed, satisfied. "Good. While we're there, so you mind if I find some things for the rest of the house? I wanted to find some nice picture frames."
Alex rose his eyebrows as he slowed at a change of the speed limit.
“For what? We have plenty at the house. But they’re all being used…”
"Exactly. They're all being used. I figure that we'll take more pictures that I'll want to hang up, so it seemed like a good idea," Autumn said with a shrug.
Alex nodded thoughtfully. “Alright. Pictured sound nice. It’ll be fun.” He smiled.
Autumn grinned back and nodded. "It will be. Also… What do you think if a new dining room table and chairs?"
She was joking, but she just wanted to see his reaction. Although, she wouldn't be opposed to buying a new set…
Alex’s eyebrows rose up more on his face. “A new dining table set? Sounds expensive. But I guess we could pick one up…”
Autumn blinked and smiled a bit. “Seriously? I was joking, but if you really don’t mind…”
Alex shrugged. “Nah, I don’t mind. Let’s get a new one.”
“Great! I’m thinking a darker wood, with extensions? That way we can fit our family and friends when they come over,” Autumn suggested, grinning at the thought.
Alex nodded. “That’d be nice. I think we’d all enjoy a place to sit, huh?” He laughed.
Autumn laughed lightly with him. "Definitely. Do you want to help me pick the table out, Jilly?"
Jilly turned to Autumn from the window, politely tilting her head. “Yes please.”
"Great! It'll be a family choice, then," Autumn said with a grin.
Alex chuckled softly and turned onto a hidden path. “A family choice.”
"Yup. Because we are officially a family now," Autumn said softly, glancing between Alex and Jilly.
Jilly smiled a little between her fingers, scooting closer to Autumn.
Alex squeezed her hand gently in his, smiling widely.
Autumn sighed softly, wrapping her free arm around Jilly and squeezing Alex's hand back. "I love you guys," she all but whispered.
