Alex huffed softly as he missed a light. “I can’t hold your hand any more.” He frowned.

“Then let go of it, Alex,” Autumn laughed lightly. “It’s really quite simple.”

Alex glanced back at her. “I wasn’t saying I can’t. I was just saying you won’t let me.”

Autumn raised her eyebrows at him. “How am I not letting you? I’m the one trying to get you to let go.”

Alex stuck his tongue out at her. “You’re making my attempted cute statement overcomplicated.”

“Sorry, babe. I had no idea you were trying to be cute,” Autumn chuckled, shaking her head.

Alex huffed at her jokingly. “Well now you do.”

"Yes, I do. And would you now mind letting me go?" Autumn asked, her voice light and teasing.

Alex grabbed up her hand at another light, grinning. “No!”

Autumn laughed. "Babe! Come on, please? You can hold my hand all you want for the rest of the day as long as you're not driving."

Alex stuck out his tongue. “I’ll prove to you that I can drive with one hand. It’s basically all one straight road, after all.”

"But, Alex… Oh, fine. I'm not going to convince you, am I?" Autumn sighed.

Alex giggled softly. “Nope! I’ll never stop loving you and showing it!”

"I never said you had to!" Autumn laughed again gently. "I just want you to be careful while you drive. You're setting an example to Jilly, you know."

Alex glanced back at Jilly, tisking softly in thought. “You’re right. I’ll just have this once with your hand.”

"You're impossible, love," Autumn teased, squeezing his hand gently.

Alex chuckled softly. “I know. You are too.”

Autumn grinned and shook her head in amusement. “How am I impossible?”

Alex laughed softly and booped her nose after a stretch. “You just are.”

“All right, rockstar. Whatever you say,” Autumn chuckled.

Alex laughed and relaxed into the seat again, driving happily to their destination. “Whatever I say… Hmmm…”

Autumn rolled her eyes playfully. “You know what I meant.”

Alex laughed softly at her reaction. “Perhaps.”
Jilly giggled softly into her hands.

“You’re totally going to use that against me now, aren’t you?” Autumn sighed.

Alex laughed a bit louder. “Of course not!”
