Sirus nodded, sheathing the knife he'd used with calm precision, ready to take on either one if them if they wished it. Personally he had just planned on working through his own drills solo, but practice bouts and constructive criticism were always acceptable.
”I’m always ready.” Gwen said confidently, looking forward to her training.
Corvin smirked at them and nodded before leading them away from the targets. ”Well, then… Let's start with a little sparing without weapons.”
Sirus followed at a distance, knowing his hand to hand in human form was poor because he usually reverted to wolf.
Gwen smiled confidently as she followed her teacher. She may not have been very strong compared to the rest of the tribe but she had improved quite a bit as opposed to when she first came here.
(Hey, sorrry for not responding, I haven't forgotten about this I'm just a little low on self motivation…. I'll probably respond before the end of the week though…)
(Ok. No worries. Take care of yourself.)
Gwen smiled confidently as she followed her teacher. She may not have been very strong compared to the rest of the tribe but she had improved quite a bit as opposed to when she first came here.
Sirus followed along behind, ready for just about anything today.
The group walked over to a well-trodden patch of grass, almost circular in shape and a bit tore up in places. Since the match was going to be hand to hand, Gwen passed over her bow, quiver, and hunting knife to Corvin before stepping into the training ground, smirking a little at Sirius.
Sirus unclipped his sword and removed several knives, leaving them in the grass, before entering the ring, an easy grin on his face waiting for her move, or Corbin's direction.
Gwen raised a brow at the number of knives her new sparring partner apparently had hidden, though she was definitely impressed. She let out a slow breath to prepare herself as she likewise waiting for the sparring to begin.
Sirus calmly stretching himself out, ready to drop and defend at any moment.
Corvin watched the two for a moment before giving a short nod. ”Begin.”
Gwen had her hands up in a defensive position but at the signal, she quickly threw two punches. One at his head and one at his stomach.
Sirus dropped catchign the one to his head and sidestepping the one to his gut his heel going for the back of the other's leg as he kept a grip on her wrist, pulling it behind her and down to throw her off balance before dancing away.
Gwen grimaced at the maneuver but managed to keep her balance, just barely, and spun back to face him, making a charge.
Sirus sidestepped her again, before moving back in with a left hook to the shoulder and an attempted left knee to the gut, his right hand moving to try and tug her off balance by catching the fabric of her trousers and pulling upwards.
Gwen ducked slightly to avoid the blow to her shoulder but wasn't able to block the second hit, though she bore it well enough despite the pain. Though she let out a surprised shriek when she felt him attempt to grab her. She glared at him as she aimed a swift kick to his side.
Sirus took it with a grunt, catching her leg and pulling it towards him, moving to get an arm around her neck.
Gwen stumbled a little but let him pulled her closer. Using his hold, she lifted herself up and pinned the upper part of his other arm to his side with her free leg, sort of climbing up him.
Sirus growled, twisting to throw them both to the ground with her underneath him.
Gwen almost swore as the wind was knocked out of her from hitting the ground. Reaching behind him, she grabbed a fist full of his hair and pulled as she writhed to get away.
Sirus winced, grappling to pull her hands up over her head, trying to keep her beneath him.
Gwen kept her grip on his hair and continued to struggle to get away. Since kicking and punching weren't going to work very well laying on the ground, she swung her free hand to slap him, hoping for a big enough shock to roll him.
Sirus just blinked at her, having never really been slapped accross the face, and this momentary hesitation left him open.
Gwen took the opportunity and pushed him off her, flipping him onto his back and getting back to her feet.
