"It's fine," she said, sitting up. "When did we fall asleep?"
"It's fine," she said, sitting up. "When did we fall asleep?"
He looked at his watch "about an hour ago" he groaned and sat back down
She pressed the heel of her palm to her forehead and squeezed her eyes shut. "Adrien slept at Nino's house last night, didn't he?" she asked.
"mhm yep, he's supposed to be picked up in the morning." He glanced over at her "get some sleep," he stood, kissed her head gently and walked to his room
"No, I'm going to get Adrien," she muttered and stood up. She headed to her room as well and changed into her normal clothes. She hurried back downstairs and tried to slip out before he noticed.
He rolled his eyes and followed "can't go anywhere without the keys love." he called, jingling the kes in his hand
She blushed lightly. "I was going to get Adrien."
He looked at her "I can see that, in a designer dress and a car with no keys."
(She changed)
(oh ok nvm then)
She blushed lightly. "I was going to get Adrien."
She blushed lightly. "I was going to get Adrien."
"I can see that, you do know that's its early right? it's only 5:00 in the morning. I told him he'd pick him up around 12"
"Oh…" Foolish. "May I take a walk?"
He looked at her with confusion "you don't have to ask permission to do anything, you know." he nodded "Just be careful." he said quietly, hoping he hadn't upset her
Nathalie nodded and left. She walked through Paris, stopping to admire brief sights she wouldn't have thought twice about before. She sat down in the park on a bench and sighed. Someone sat on the other side, but she didn't care who it was until they tapped her shoulder. She looked over at Dimitri's smirk.
"Hello, Nathalie."
In her shock, she froze and he slid over to pin her between him and the rail.
"What do you want?" she demanded, trying to hide the fatigue in her voice.
"Oh, nothing. I just wanted to see you," he purred. "Your hair looks nice."
Absently, she reached up and touched it. She'd forgot to put it up.
"I heard that you can design."
She paled. "I-I don't know what you're talking about."
"Don't lie to me," he replied smoothly.
Gabriel took the opportunity and changed into less formal clothing. He sat at his desk and began to draw In his sketchbook. He ended up drawing Natalie in a simple dress. He looked down at the picture and smiled "invading my thoughts love."
Her breath hitched. Slowly her hand slipped into her pocket, but he grabbed her wrist. "Hmm… calling Gabriel? I don't think so, my dear," he said softly.
"What do you want?" she asked sharply.
"I originally wanted you so I could force Gabriel into giving me his designs. But now I want you to make the designs and produce them for me."
She stiffened. "And why would I do that?"
He shrugged. "I thought you might want to, considering it's the only way to save Gabriel's life."
"No," she whispered. "Don't hurt him."
"Then make the designs," he replied, cupping her cheek so she was forced to look at him.
Resistance left her. "Alright…"
He smiled. "I knew you'd come around."
He checked his watch seeing that it was close to 11:00 and Natalie had not returned. All the worrying thoughts came into his mind at once but he shoved them aside. "She probably just needs personal time to process things." He told himself. "She's alright."
Dimitri still did not let her go.
"You have what you want," she said evenly. "Let me go."
People were beginning to walk through the park.
He narrowed his eyes. "Remember – the designs or Gabriel dies. And… if you tell him about our little encounter… things may not go as smoothly as I would've hoped. Yes?" He let go of her wrist, his fingers leaving red marks, and stood. With his brisk pace, he disappeared within seconds.
Nathalie was left alone, trying to catch her breath. She checked the time quickly. 11:15! Gabriel would be getting worried about her. She stood as well and hurried home. Before she entered the estate, she tugged her blazer sleeve down over the marks on her wrist. She pressed the doorbell and brushed her head quickly behind her ear.
He glanced at his computer and unlocked the door, returning his gaze to the sketchbook, secretly relieved and glad that she was back
Nathalie collected her breath and entered the study. "I'm sorry for taking so long," she said softly, approaching his workspace.
"it's fine, don't worry about." He stood from his desk and walked over to her "are you alright?" He asked, looking her over
"Yes," she lied convincingly. She didn't want him to worry, then he would figure out what had really happened during her walk and… She didn't want to think about it. She masked the emotions she wanted – simple enough. And the emotions she wanted to be masked were fear and pain. "I'm fine."
He nodded, though a twinge of suspicion entered his conciousness "I'll come with you to get Adrien." He said as he walked to the door, grabbing the keys on his way out.
"Alright," she agreed, following him. "I can drive."
