"Yes we do and it's quite important. So, what it is Dorian?" She glanced over at him with a slightly pointed look.
"Yes we do and it's quite important. So, what it is Dorian?" She glanced over at him with a slightly pointed look.
Dorian let out a nervous chuckle under her gaze before turning to his siblings, "Well ah, see, Fiona and I are… FionaandIaregettingmarried." He blurted.
The twins shared a look, almost as if they were going to scream something before they grinned and squealed, "Dori that's fantasicccccc!" Bella said, glancing between the two of them.
"See? I told you it'd be fine." She elbowed his side softly before kissing his cheek with a giggle.
Dorian blushed lightly, rolling his eyes, "Yeah yeah, you were right."
"Now, it's great that you two are excited but we have other people to go tell, don't we?"
"Again, why do I have to tell everyone?" He pouted, "Why couldn't you have told the girls?"
"Um, hello, they're your family. I wouldn't make you tell my family this was switched so suck it up and deal with it."
He pouted even more, though he didn’t mention it again because he knew she was right, “Let’s go tell Edward then.”
This was she was slightly nervous about. She didn't know Edward like she did the girls and from what she'd seen of him, he wasn't very interested in caring about his younger brother. "Yes, let's."
The girls said their goodbyes, skipping back over to the piano to continue their lessons. Dorian took Fiona’s hand, giving it a squeeze before leading her in the direction of his older brother’s study.
She followed him along, glancing over at him every couple of seconds. She couldn't help it, she just found him so cute.
He didn’t notice, too focused on what he was going to say to his brother then they arrived.
"Are you nervous?" She couldn't help but break the silence.
“Yes of bloody course!” He sighed, “It’s Edward. Of course I’m nervous.”
"Dorian, you're overreacting. Yes, I understand, it's your brother and you two don't get along but there also isn't much he can do it change anything, is there?"
He looked unsure, “I mean… you never know with him… if we don’t get my fathers blessing then well we’re doomed. And Edward has a lot of influence over him.”
She kissed his cheek softly. "Relax, love. It'll be fine. Now, let's go."
The reached the study and he knocked. Their was a muffled 'come in' from the other side and Dorian pushed the door open.
She squeezed his hand as they entered, trying to give him a little bit of strength.
The room was large, as expected and well decorated. Behind a large wooden desk sat Edward who only glanced to Fiona as the two entered, “Fiona.” He said.
"Hello Edward. I'm aware we haven't had much time to talk but we do have something important to tell you. Isn't that right?" She looked to Dorian, trying to get the spotlight off her.
“Right yes,” Dorian cleared his throat, “Well… Fiona and I are… engaged.”
Edward raised a brow, “Oh? I don’t see a ring?”
"Maybe not since the proposal was very on the spot so he never had time to find a ring but eventually I will have one. Regardless, we are engaged."
Edward was silent for a moment, "And are you sure you want to spend the rest of your life with… my brother?"
"Yes, I am very sure. You might not hold a high opinion of him but I do and that's what matters." Her voice was firm and final.
