"We can always go for an unfriendly demon." Soren's eyes narrowed as he turned the blade in his hand. Staying calm was harder than he expected. He went in for the attack again, this time slicing Arthur's forearm.
"We can always go for an unfriendly demon." Soren's eyes narrowed as he turned the blade in his hand. Staying calm was harder than he expected. He went in for the attack again, this time slicing Arthur's forearm.
Arthur lept back, showing no sign of pain as blood trickled down his arm. "Harder." he said his dagger held ready to fight.
(Note Arthur's agility is about a nine,
strength is a 7
power is an 8)
Soren pressed forward, slashing at Arthur, eventually opening the latter's flesh in several other places.
This guy is quick.. It's gonna be hard doing any damage.
Arthur didn't show any sign of being afflicted in any way. "Chaosae!" he enveloped the wounds in pure chaos aura, causing them to vanish.
"Since you insist on being slow, I'll speed this up." he said. Then he lept into action, his dagger glinting as he went for Soren's throat, before switching tactics and going for his leg, the dagger changing hands and his leg going for Soren's head.
Soren leapt out of the way, his heart bursting with raw adrenaline.
That was close, that was CLOSE! I need to calm down!
The dome around them became smaller, like walls closing in around them slightly. He needed to think of his next move, but he couldn't. He couldn't think of anything.
Arthur landed, standing perfectly straight, his eyes locked on Soren's every move. "I know you can do better without turning demon. You just have to trust me when I say that it isn't easy to hurt me."
"I'm not a fighter.. I have no idea how to fight!" Soren exclaimed, staring at his blade. "On a battlefield I would be dead in a matter of seconds!"
The doubt began crawling through him again, both of his eyes turned black.
"I don't have skill you do, you overestimate my abilities Arthur."
Soren's speed increased tenfold as he shot towards Arthur, attacking the boy from every direction.
Arthur managed to dodge them, but only barely. His dagger clashing against Soren's sword, "I know you weren't raised to fight. But fighting is one of the best ways I know to learn how to focus and control your powers." he broke away, tripping Soren with a leg swipe before bolting backwards and landing on his feet. "Soren, if you want to survive in the outside world you have to know how to fight. If you don't then you're as good as dead. Where I come from, as soon as you get your powers, you start learning to fight with them, learning how to fight with them against peers builds control, because you aren't actually trying to hurt them. But it's also necessary, because if you don't know how to hunt, or fight, then you don't know how to survive."
Soren picked himself up, swinging another series of attacks at Arthur.
"We clearly have different definitions of survive."
The dome closed in again, spikes protruded everywhere.
"I can't do this, I'm not a fighter!"
Calm down calm down calm down!!!!
Arthur mentally spooked when the spikes appeared, but kept a calm outward appearance. "Soren who's talking right now?" he asked, slightly tense, but not showing it, "You? Or your shadow?"
"Me.." Soren replied, taking control of his body again. His eyes were still black, but his shadow no longer had control over his actions.
"Good" said Arthur, "As helpful as that shadow of your's might be to you, I think he's more of an embodiment of your own fear more than anything else." He took another fighting stance, "Wanna keep going? Or do you need a break?"
"I'm okay to keep going." Soren sighed, taking a deep breath before attacking Arthur again. The tip of his blade poked Arthur's chest, and that's when Soren hesitated.
Arthur took that chance to trip Soren, ending up on top of him, hand to the other's throat. Arthur's legs were firmly on top of Soren's legs and one of his arms, and his other arm had Soren's free one pinned in seconds. His grip was strong, and his face was emotionless for several minutes. "You're going to have to be faster than that"
The dome around them fell and the shadows scattered. Soren's head felt a little light, everything happened so quickly, but when everything cleared he made eye contact with Arthur. His eyes returned to normal, his blue eye sparkling brightly in the setting sun. His chest rose and fell heavily, and his face had turned slightly pink in embarrassment.
He's so close..!!!!
Soren's tail slowly curled around Arthur's waist, holding him firmly in place.
"If you're going to pin someone down," he muttered, "Check that all their limbs are secured."
Soren smiled weakly, maintaining eye contact with Arthur. The latter was still firmly in place with Soren's tail, he wasn't likely to be moving anywhere unless the tail moved too. "Now as much as I love your hand at my throat, it's a little hard to breath. Think you could loosen up a little?"
Arthur blushed a little, pulling his hand away, trying pull off of Soren, but unable to because of the tail.
Soren took a deep breath, smiling brighter. "Thank you, I was beginning to miss the air."
He properly assessed the position they were in, and suddenly felt a little shy. "I uhm.. Would you like me to let go?"
Arthur blushed a little more, "I… I honestly don't know…." he said shyly, forcing himself to relax as much as possible. Arthur's face was getting redder by the second as he balanced himself above Soren, Soren's strong tail keeping him in place.
You're touching him, you are in control.
I wouldn't do that to Arthur!
Wouldn't you? You've done it to everyone else, so what makes him different?
Soren ignored his shadow, keeping his gaze on Arthur. He hesitantly reached up to caress the boy's cheek. "I'm not making you uncomfortable am I?"
Arthur tensed, blinking, almost leaning into the touch, "I…" he gave up and shook his head "no". Nice time for words to fail me…. he thought. Boy am I glad Discordion knocked himself out…. he thought as the redness in his face got more intense.
Your time is almost up Soren. Either you take me out of your body immediately, or you become fully demon.
Soren kept his eyes on Arthur, his hand continued to gently caress his pale face. He smiled lopsidedly as he sat up, gently touching their foreheads together. He closed his eyes and focused on Arthur, and soon enough his shadow returned to the ground beneath them. Still he sat there, with their noses only inches apart. I like this guy, he means way more to me than power ever could.
Arthur relaxed into it, going bright red, but not really caring. Why me…. he thought, now very glad that Discordion wasn't there.
Soren took a deep breath, opening a one way channel between his and Arthur's minds. Arthur could hear what he was thinking, but not vice versa.
You're weird, Arthur, even you yourself have admitted that. But there's nothing wrong with weird, and in fact I like that. You're very blunt at times, you don't play games or beat about the bush, and I like that too. You've been through so much yet you don't make it a known statement, you're careful. I like that as well. I like how frustrated you sometimes make me with your stubbornness, and how you make me smile just by being here.. Do you see where I'm going with my thoughts?
Arthur blinked in surprise, but tried to find the words to answer. "yeah… yeah I see… uhm…" why now????? "There are a lot…. of things along those lines… that I would say too…. if I could actually…." If I could actually speak properly…. he thought as he trailed off, his face going bright red with flustered embarrassment.
