sad cowboy
Alaric tried opening it with his other hand, "Hmm," He said neutrally, but with an undertone of frustration, "So what, he's a warlock or somethin'?"
Alaric tried opening it with his other hand, "Hmm," He said neutrally, but with an undertone of frustration, "So what, he's a warlock or somethin'?"
"No…" said Skye. "He has my wolf amulet.. and Full control over everything I do…"
"Why not steal it back?" He tried using the end of his shirt to open it.
"I can't" said Skye. "That's one of the orders I'm under. I can't touch it."
Alaric gave up trying to pry it open, but couldn't meet his eyes,
"That's messed up. Anyway I can help? I got a toxic dad too." He shrugged.
Skye sighed. "I don't know.. i just wish I could be free…. I don't wanna be a crime lord's kid." he said. "Also do you need help opening that?"
"Oh, please, I'm fadin' fast." He handed it to Skye and cracked his knuckles absentmindedly.
Alaric looked down, "We don't choose our parents." He gestured to the flashing lights of the late-night diner.
"But we can choose what to do with our lives."
Skye sighed, opening the bottle for the other. "I can't. Not while Alarez has my amulet." he said. "Until I can somehow get it back I have no choice in life.."
Alaric took the bottle from him and swallowed a pill. He sighed and put his medication in his back pocket.
"You always have a choice." Rick pushed him to the side with his shoulder playfully.
Skye glanced up at him. "I wish.." he said, knowing he didn't.
He sighed for the millionth time today and decided not to argue anymore. He was tired, and in desperate need of some music and a very strong drink. Alaric pointed to the diner. "Let's go."
Skye nodded, letting him lead the way. "Alright. I ain't got anything better to do.."
Alaric opened the door. Warm air, the jingle, cigarette smoke. A socky man behind the counter.
His voice was thick with an accent, "Ricky-Dee-Dunn! It's good to see you, kid. Who's your friend?"
"This is–" He tried to find words that wouldn't trace back to him being Junebug's son. "Skye."
Skye followed him in, giving the man a playful smile. His hood was up again, as usual, but that didn't hid his hair from anyone who looked right at him.
(im gon be gone for an hour or two)
(No worries, I just need you to give a heads up when you'll be gone for more than a day..)
(np, also whoop im back but might have to leave abruptly)
(It's cool!)
Alaric took a seat on his usual stool and chatted with the man behind the counter.
"Gah! You're terrible!" The man laughed with his whole face, "What can I get you two, especially you Rickie? You lookin' a bit pale." He laughed again.
"Mhh, what do you want?" Alaric turned to Skye.
"chocolate milkshake would be nice" said Skye, happy to have a friend for once.
"Ooh, kid you're in for something." He laughed wholly. "Rickie?"
"Hmm, for a drink, surprise me?" Alaric asked, hoping for the best, "and fries?"
Skye rolled his eyes, grinning. "So, what do you think we should do?"
Alaric drummed his fingers and thought about it, "Swim? Down by the quarry on 5th?"
"Why not" said Skye, thinking it was a good idea. "I just hope I won't have to leave again like last time…"
"Yeah." He shook his head, picking at loose threads on his sleeve. Alaric looked towards the jukebox,
"Rolling stones again?" He asked.
