Bryn nodded, looking chastised as he curled up against Sebastian's chest. "I'm sorry Sebastian, I love you too." He kissed his jaw softly, looking up at him with wide worried eyes, like he wasn't sure he'd really been forgiven. "I'll try to be better next time, promise"
Sebastian hated that. He hated seeing Bryn look like he was being scolded, like he was in trouble. He wasn't; Sebastian just wanted Bryn to know Sebastian wasn't mad at him.
Sebastian kissed Bryn very gently, keeping his head close to Bryn's.
"You don't have to try to be better," he said quietly, choosing his words carefully. He didn't want Bryn to misunderstand what he meant by what he was saying. "You didn't do anything bad. I just want you to know that."
Bryn kissed him back immediately, wrapping his arms around Sebastian's neck with a soft sound. He seemed a little more relaxed when they pulled apart, eyes softening into a smaller kind of worry– like he thought he was just disappointing Sebastian instead of angering him. He swallowed when he heard that first sentence, almost disbelieving. It had been a long time since he'd been allowed to share these things. "I…I didn't?"
"No," Sebastian confirmed. "You didn't." He gave a soft smile, slightly bittersweet. Bryn shouldn't have to have a hard time believing what Sebastian said about this. He shouldn't have to feel like he needed to apologize for saying these things, for thinking this way. He shouldn't have to think this way in the first place. He shouldn't even have to be in this situation in the first place.
Bryn gave him a long look and then let their eye contact break, finally relaxing completely against Sebastian's chest. Everything was okay. Sebastian forgave him, so everything was okay. "Oh," he said, voice very small. "Thank you, I… I don't get that a lot, could you hold me please?" The last part came out rushed, more of a "couldyouholdmeplease?"
"You're welcome," Sebastian replied. He had a lot of things he felt he should say to Bryn, but he just bit his lip and pulled Bryn closer. His legs came up as well, enough to wrap himself around Bryn. He played with the other's hair.
"Any time," he said quietly.
Bryn relaxed completely when Sebastian pulled him close, letting out a shaky sigh when he felt hands in his hair. He was too worked up to purr, but he felt… better. Less scared, more embarrassed that he'd gotten so upset over nothing. "Thank you. I… I really appreciate it."
Sebastian nodded in acknowledgment, resting his head against Bryn's.
"You know I'd do most anything for you, right?" He asked. He didn't say an absolute though. Absolutes were dangerous.
Bryn scooted himself forward, curling as close to Sebastian as he could. "I know," he said, pressing a soft kiss to his human's collarbone. "I know you would. I just… I hate that I've gotta mess up our time together with my memories."
Sebastian ran his fingers through Bryn's hair, kissing the top of his head.
"Is much rather be here with you then you be alone with the memories like that. I want to be here for you, no matter what."
Bryn nodded, a small unsure thing, and pressed his face harder into the crook of Sebastian's neck. "I know that too, only sometimes I can't help but feel bad about it. It always seems like I'm wasting your time."
Sebastian was quiet as Bryn said what he had to say, but spoke up right after.
"Bryn, if we're together, it'll never be a waste of time. Promise." He kissed Bryn's skin again, holding him close.
Bryn swallowed and gave another nod, even weaker than the first. "You keep telling me that," he murmured, an agreement that wasn't really an agreement.
Sebastian frowned a little, making sure Bryn couldn't see it.
"I love you, Bryn," he said simply, feeling like Bryn needed to hear it.
Bryn took a shaky breath and curled closer, kissing the bottom of Sebastian's jaw. "I love you too," he said softly. "I… I love you a lot."
Sebastian nuzzled his nose in Bryn's hair, engulfing Bryn in his warmth. He didn't say anything else, just trying to help Bryn calm down. After a while, he did speak again.
"How are you doing?" he asked gently.
Bryn curled against him and made himself small, knees tucked up between his chest and Sebastian's. He tried to bask in the quiet, tried to steady his breathing and soothe his mind, but he didn't really start to feel calm until he felt Sebastian's voice roll over him. "I'm okay," he mumbled. "You make me feel better."
"I'm glad to hear that," Sebastian said softly, leaning over to kiss Bryn's forehead. He kept Bryn close, both of them snuggled with blankets he pulled up.
"Your happiness is important to me."
Bryn leaned into the kiss with a low hum, tangling his hands in the fabric of Sebastian's shirt to pull him close. It was cozy under the blakets, even cozier with Sebastian wrapped around him. "It means a lot to hear you say that."
Sebastian smiled softly, content. This was nice, just snuggling with Bryn, especially since Bryn had calmed down more. He kissed Bryn.
"Well, you're important to me. I want you to be happy."
Bryn smiled and kissed him back, pulling him closer with a happy little noise. Cuddling with Sebastian always made him feel better. "You're important to me too, Sebastian. You always make me feel safe, I… I just wanna be with you forever."
"Then I have good news, because I'm never gonna ask you to leave." Sebastian grinned, rubbing the small of Bryn's back.
Bryn laughed and leaned into his touch with a soft sigh, melting up against his chest. "Good, I don't think I could survive without you anymore."
Sebastian kissed Bryn's forehead, smiling softly.
"I see." He held Bryn close, eyes half closed.
Bryn laughed quietly, propping his head up on Sebastian's chest. "What's that supposed to mean?"
