Bryn shoved his face into the crook of Sebastian's neck, shaking his head at the reassurance. "I picked that other sad movie too, the one with the boat! I should've just let you pick, you knew what a movie even was before today."
Bryn shoved his face into the crook of Sebastian's neck, shaking his head at the reassurance. "I picked that other sad movie too, the one with the boat! I should've just let you pick, you knew what a movie even was before today."
Sebastian held Bryn close, shaking his head slightly.
"Bryn, that's just because that how it is. Most love movies don't have completely happy endings. Some are downright heartbreaking. But you don't know until you watch it. And me knowing what a movie is longer than you has nothing to do with it."
"Does too! You knew the other one was sad, and I'm sure you know if there are any love movies that won't be sad!" He finally stopped hiding himself with Sebastian's body, peeking up at his human pleadingly. "Can't you put one of those on? So we can be happy?"
Sebastian, when Bryn stopped hiding his face, reached his hand up, holding his cheek lightly.
"Okay then," he said gently. "I'll find a happy movie."
Bryn leaned into his hand as a reflex, eyes drifting shut as he pressed his cheek into Sebastian's palm. It was calming to be held so gently, like he was worth something. "Thank you."
Sebastian rubbed his thumb over Bryn's cheek, looking at him a moment longer before he turned to find a better movie for them. He left his hand where it was, using his other one to search around. Finally, he settled on a generic Hallmark movie, one with minimal drama.
Bryn had calmed down almost all the way when Sebastian turned on the new movie, but he still regarded the screen cautiously as the opening music played. He relaxed a bit once the blonde haired lady who seemed to be the main character met her love interest, and he was smiling again as they started to flirt, enchanted once more by the world of cinema.
Sebastian let out a little sigh of relief when Bryn calmed down, keeping one arm around him as they watched the movie. He lightly played with Bryn's hair, just wanting him to be happy.
Bryn didn't purr the way he usually did, but he leaned up into the petting even as his eyes stayed glued to the screen. He liked the movie well enough- it was sweet and there were a couple jokes that made him laugh- but it was being with Sebastian that really made this great.
Sebastian smiled brightly, especially when Bryn laughed. He slipped him free hand into Bryn's again, leaning against him as the movie progressed. This was nice, especially since nothing too upsetting was going to happen.
By the end of the movie Bryn had all but melted up against Sebastian and now, as the two main characters finally kissed, he found himself sighing happily. The credits began to roll. He turned to Sebastian. "I liked that!"
Sebastian's eyes were half closed as the movie ended, a happy look on his face.
"I'm glad you did," Sebastian said with a smile, pulling Bryn a touch closer. It was going to be dinner time soon, but they had a few minutes before they were going to be interrupted.
Bryn smiled back, curling against his chest and leaning up to kiss him. "You're so sweet. Maybe next time we could watch a movie about people like us?"
Sebastian thought for a moment before nodding his head.
"That sounds like a good idea." He kissed Bryn again, both arms around him. He moved the laptop off of his lap, onto the nightstand.
Bryn watched the magical little thing go, kissing Sebastian back with a soft sigh of contentment. "Are there love movies like that? About two boys or demons and humans?"
"I know there are about two boys, but… I don't know about between demons and humans. At least, not about healthy relationships between them." Sebastian has never seen any, but he was fairly sure at least one existed; it was the internet, after all.
Bryn's face fell a little and he snuggled close to Sebastian's side. "Oh. I guess I just… forgot what demons are to most humans." He blushed. Sebastian made him feel so happy, it was easy to forget that he was nothing but a glorified slave, kept here only by the grace of a gentle master. No matter how much that master loved him. "Maybe we can watch one with two boys then?"
Seeing how Bryn's face fell just set Sebastian in his resolve; he was going to find a movie where a human and a demon were in love; a healthy, mutual love like was so common in movies about two humans. He held Bryn close.
"Okay then. But for now-" a knock sounded on the door. "-dinner." Sebastian frowned slightly at what they had to do now. Act, pretend to be what… They technically were. No matter how much Sebastian hated it, he was still Bryn's Master. The thought made him sick.
Bryn winced, groping around for his collar and slapping it clumsily around his throat. His hands were shaking as he did it, and he draped himself across Sebastian's lap with a forcibly blank expression. "Dinner," he agreed, sighing softly. "Could you… could you pet me today?"
"Of course," Sebastian said softly. He took a moment to reach down and give Bryn's hand a gentle squeeze, then moved his hand up to entwine in Bryn's hair.
"Come in," he called. One pro of his old life; he had always taken his food in his room.
Bryn hummed quietly, burying his face in Sebastian's hip as he settled on top of the covers. It was always easier to do this if he didn't have to acknowledge anyone but his human.
A maid opened the door, carrying two full dinners on her tray. It was the baby maid, as Bryn called her. Sebastian brushed his fingers across Bryn's scalp, rubbing his head gently as the maid made her way in, setting the food down.
Bryn relaxed a bit when he saw who it was, even letting a soft purr rumble out of him. The babymaid was sweet, and she talked to him absently while she cleaned. He didn't talk back so much, but she didn't really seem to care. She kept coming back, at least, and she hadn't told on him yet.
Sebastian felt the purr more than heard it, letting his lips twitch up in a small smile. He nodded to the girl in acknowledgement, to which she bowed her head. She gave Bryn a quick, small smile before leaving.
Bryn smiled back at her, waving shyly as she left the room and then sitting up so he could lean against Sebastian's chest. She' set the tray of food over on the nightstand so he pulled it into Sebastian's lap and then looked up at his human expectantly, waiting for permission to eat the way he always did.
