"It's people pretending to be the characters. People can actually get paid a lot of money for being good at pretending to be others people or characters." Sebastian smiled when Bryn grinned, holding Bryn close happily.
"It's people pretending to be the characters. People can actually get paid a lot of money for being good at pretending to be others people or characters." Sebastian smiled when Bryn grinned, holding Bryn close happily.
"Oh! Like…" Bryn tried to think of the right word. His old master had gone to a fancy event once and made him come, and there were people on a stage in fancy clothes pretending to be other people. There was a word for it. What was it called? "Like a play!"
"Yes, like that!" Sebastian smiled, kissing Bryn.
"So, do you think it sounds like something you want to do?"
Bryn kissed Sebastian back, nodding eagerly in response to his question. He liked the smile Sebastian gave him when he figured things out. It made him feel all fluttery and flushed, like maybe he'd gotten to make his human proud. "Yes. Can we watch a love one?"
"Of course. I'll go get my laptop." Sebastian smiled again, pulling away from Bryn after one more peck on the lips. He stood, going over to his backpack and rummaging around.
Bryn sighed when he pulled away, starfishing out on the bed as he waited for Sebastian to return. He made room once he did, smoothing the blankets out across their thighs so the laptop had a place to sit.
Sebastian snuggled close to Bryn when he sat down, their sides pressed together. He set the laptop down.
"I'm to assume you want a love story with a happy ending?" He asked.
Bryn pulled Sebastian's arm across his shoulders and curled up against his side, looking at the laptop eagerly even though it was only displaying the home screen. "Mhmm! Those are the best kinds."
Sebastian smiled, holding Bryn close with the one arm while using the other to pull up Netflix.
"I have to agree with you on that point," Sebastian said happily, looking through the romance movies. He wanted to find a happy ending that wasn't just a Hallmark movie, but he had no idea what movies had them and which didn't.
Bryn seemed content to wait but after a while, he figured he'd just have to pick for Sebastian. Maybe… that one!" He pointed to something called Titanic, which had two people kissing and a big metal boat on it.
"Ah… are you sure? I don't think that one has a happy ending…" Sebastian looked down at Bryn, asking what he thinks.
(Sorry I got on so late! Had some computer issues.)
"Oh. Um… how about that one?" He pointed to something with two soaking wet people on the cover called The Notebook.
"Hm, I've never heard of it. It wouldn't hurt to try, right? And if we don't like it we can just pick another movie." Sebastian smiled, kissing Bryn's forehead. He clicked onto the movie, then pulled his hands away, now wrapping both arms around Bryn lightly.
Bryn nodded and curled up beneath Sebastian's arm with a soft sigh of contentment. His head rested lightly on his human's shoulder as he stared intently into the depths of the screen. His whole face lit up in a bright smile when it turned on and people started walking around and talking onscreen.
Sebastian smiled as well, so happy to see Bryn like this. He watched the movie, yes, but he also paid close attention to Bryn, soaking in everything.
Bryn gasped at every tiny reveal and grinned uncontrollably at every small interaction between characters, completely sucked into the movie. He had grabbed Sebastian's hand at one point but he didn't even realize he was holding it, too caught up in the narrative.
Sebastian absolutely loved how much Bryn had been drawn into the story; when Bryn reached up to grab his hand, Sebastian readily complied, smiling like crazy. He was very glad they had decided to do this.
Bryn gasped at something dramatic happened, turning to gape up at Sebastian with a look that said 'can you believe that just happened!?' and then turning back to the screen a split second later so he wouldn't miss even the tiniest bit of action.
Sebastian gave Bryn's hand a squeeze, looking at him a moment longer before finally turning his eyes to the screen. He rested his head on Bryn's, smiling like crazy.
Bryn squeezed back, completely excited for what was about to happen. And then the two main love interests got into a fight. He was wrecked, nervously looking from the screen to Sebastian, as if his human could step into the laptop and fix the whole mess.
Sebastian let out a silent gasp when the two started fighting, having half a mind to actually try to fix this. He glanced at Bryn, pulling him a little bit closer.
"Keep watching," he said, giving Bryn a small smile. Hopefully, this was sorted out later in the movie.
Bryn nodded, curling up closer to Sebastian as the woman began to tear up and outright flinching when the man yelled at her. He buried his head in Sebastian's shoulder, whining softly as the screen cut to the woman, walking through the rain and crying loudly. "Sebastian," he whimpered. "I… I don't wanna watch this anymore."
"Okay," Sebastian said, quickly pausing and exiting back out to the main menu. He put both arms around Bryn, looking slightly worried.
Bryn curled up into his chest desperately, obviously upset by what he'd just seen. "Pick something else, I always make the worst choices."
"No you don't," Sebastian reassured, voice soothing. He hated seeing Bryn this upset; screw it, they were gonna watch a Hallmark movie. Anything so long as he could guarantee Bryn a happy story.
"You couldn't have known what was going to happen."
