Izzy rolled her eyes with a small laugh, “I could never. Just been busy the past few days is all. How have you been?”
Izzy rolled her eyes with a small laugh, “I could never. Just been busy the past few days is all. How have you been?”
Raven smiled. "Ive been fine, dear. How have you been?" She rested her head on Izzy's shoulder. "I hope you didn't get in trouble last time."
Izzy shook her head, resting it against Ravens softly a moment later, “No I did-“
She was stopped mid sentence, an armed group of guards in dark blue and black marching towards them, “Oi! Street rat! Let her go!”
Ravens head shot up at the mention of street rat. She looked at the guards. "Shit." She cursed silently as she removed her head and head from Izzy's shoulder. "We should get out of here." She whispered.
The princess blinked a couple times. She knew those guards, who they worked for, “Yes. Yes we really, really should.”
With a nod, Raven grabbed Izzy's hand and took off, sprinting down a nearby alley. "This is probably my fault." She told Izzy as she ran. "I've been hanging around the palace for a few days."
"No, no it wasn't you." Clearly they'd still been watching her, clearly she hadn't been careful enough, "They've been following me for days."
"Why? I thought you said that you didn't get in trouble for sneaking out." Raven asked as she made a sharp turn.
"It's a long story." Her cover was totally blown. As they rounded the corner more of the guards turned up, blocking their escape route.
Raven skid to a halt when she saw the guards. Her eyes darted around, looking for a way to escape. There weren't any. Raven laughed nervously.
The guards that were chasing after them stopped behind the two, the other group in front of them. One grabbed Izzy by the arm, two more moving to grab Raven.
Raven struggled as the guards grabbed her. Spell hissed at one of the guards, only to be grabbed as well.
"Stop!" Izzy tried to shake off the guard, only for them to simply laugh.
"And who are you to tell us to stop?" He asked, a smirk plastered on his face.
"Princess Isabella." She removed her hood with one hand and the guards gasped, immediately moving to bow their heads in respect.
Raven's mouth fell agape. Izzy was Princess Isabela. She had hung out…with the princess. No wonder she was getting arrested. Raven fell/was forced to her knees by the gaurds.
"Your Highness. You- You shouldn't be out of the palace," He said, letting go of her.
"That's none of your concern. However following me is." She crossed her arms, clearly mad.
"Forgive me, however if you wish to take the matter up you'll have to do so with Azale." He jerked his head to the other guards lifting Raven off the ground.
Raven stared at Izzy a bit more. "You're the princess." She muttered softly, still in somewhat disbelief.
Once Raven was lifted off the ground, she started thrashing and kicking again.
Izzy was going to reply, however the struggle Raven was putting up prevent her from doing so. She turned to the guard, "Let her go. She wasn't harming me or anyone for that matter."
The guard seemed almost sympathetic for a moment, "I'm sorry, Your Highness, however once again this is a matter you have to take up with Azale." He bowed before turning to help the others drag Raven away and towards the castle dungeons.
Raven kicked and struggled the entire way. She had been grabbed by guards before, but never this many. She had always managed to slip away, she had a feeling thats not what would happen here.
The guards didn’t let go, dragging the girl all the way to the castle dungeons. They were old, clearly not the best kept part of the castle. There was a chain on the floor, clearly for her ankle.
At this point, Raven stopped struggling and let herself be dragged. She didn't even know what she was arrested for this time, and could only hope what she was accused wouldn't warrent exacution.
The guards chained her to the wall, making sure it was secure before they walked out, locking the door as they did so. One of the guards stayed, waiting at the end of the hallways not too far away, but fair enough that he wouldn't hear any conversations. In the cell, on the other side of the wall, was an old man.
Raven waited till most of the guards were out of sight before she didn't anything. Once they were, she slid down the wall. She let out a groan and held her head in her hands. "Stupid. Stupid. Stupid!" She muttered to herself. "You can't just hang around the palace and not expect to get caught." She rambled before she went silent.
"You can't just hang around the princess and expect to not get caught." She said aloud, the realization setting in.
Chains rattled on the other side of the cell, the man coming into view. His bread was long and grey, his clothes worn. He was missing a few teeth which just made his smile even more creepy, "You were hanging around with the princess?" He asked, crawling closer. No it was obvious he wasn't wearing his chains.
Raven looked up at the man. She didn't seem too bothered by the appearance of this man. There were people like this on the streets and in the bad areas of town.
"I guess?" Raven said with a shrug. She figured there was not point in not telling the old man. "I didn't know it was the princess. I met her out of the street, and the princess isn't supposed leave the palace. Why would I assume someone I randomly meet on the street is the princess?"
The man simply shrugged, a small chuckle escaping him, "She was never supposed to be a rebel, only makes her more appealing to all that see her, no?"
