She shrugged. “I’ve accepted it,” she joked.
She shrugged. “I’ve accepted it,” she joked.
Logan chuckled. "Mm. I can tell." He replied, shaking his head a little.
She punched him lightly again, pretending to be offended. “You’re supposed to say ‘you didn’t peak in third grade, you’re amazing right now’ or something!” she mock complained.
Logan shrugged. "Mm. Oh well." He replied with a chuckle. "Sorry."
“Apology accepted,” Allie responded. She smiled at him.
Logan smirked, and winked. "Alright." He replied.
She rolled her eyes, glancing in front of them again with a small smirk still on her face. She kept walking, glancing back at Logan briefly before looking away.
Logan shrugged again, humming a little. He sighed softly, still walking.
Allie let the silence hang for a moment. It wasn't bad, almost peaceful actually, since Logan wasn't talking. She smirked at the thought.
Logan kept humming quietly. He kept an eye out for any danger, making his way through the woods.
“Did you ever watch those wilderness survival shows that they used to play on TV?” Allie asked him, realizing she was the one who wouldn’t shut up.
Logan shrugged. "Eh, not really." he replied. "I didn't watch TV all that much."
“Oh, well I was thinking that this”—she gestured to the forest around them—“reminded me of those.”
He chuckled softly, and nodded. "Mm."
"Yeah." She continued walking. "Too bad this isn't just some reality show we're getting paid a bunch of money for."
"Too bad." He echoed with a laugh. "That would have been really great." He sighed.
"Imagine," Allie began, "Someone jumping out of the woods with a camera saying, 'We got you! This whole apocalypse thing isn't real! Here's a million dollars!'" She smiled.
Logan laughed. "Mm. That would be great, now wouldn't it? Problem is… I'm not human, and I remember…" He trailed off, a strange look flashing across his face.
Allie's demeanor changed instantly. "What do you remember?" she asked, looking torn between being concerned and being interested.
"Nothing important." Logan replied, face shutting down. "Please don't ask any more about it."
"Oh, sorry," Allie replied, concerned winning out. She bit her lip. She definitely wanted to know what it was, because in all honesty it made her nervous. But she was also worried about him, as stupid as that was.
Logan nodded. "It's fine." he replied as they walked. He sighed softly, shaking his head a little.
“So, did you have any dreams last night? I tend to have dreams a lot,” Allie chattered. “My dreams are usually pretty strange, if I’m being honest.”
"Nah, not really." He chuckled softly. "Oh? What did you dream about, then?" he asked, raising an eyebrow at her.
“Last night or in general?” she asked, before answering herself. “I didn’t have any last night, but I’ve had some interesting dreams before.”
