Aki tilted his head when Lucien spoke before biting his lip. He kept quiet, knowing he shouldn't speak. He didn't want to risk being punished or hurt…
The king sighed softly. "I won't. But…" He trailed off. "I'm not sure how to handle this." He replied honestly.
Aki nods slowly, "Thank you, sire…" He mutters softly, keeping his face to the ground. He didn't know what to do either.
"How can I explain René's presence, without bringing up how he's back?" The king wondered aloud.
"I'm not sure sire…" He whispers. "Maybe an excuse was that the coffin was empty, due to a threat to the young prince, so you hid him away? To keep him safe until the danger had passed?" He offers, shifting a little bit.
The king looked up. "That would be a good idea…Lucien, can you…pass off the mourning we did as acting?"
Lucien bit his lip. "I've…never been a good actor, father."
Aki shook his head. "Maybe Lucien was convinced Rene had actually died? To make it more effective?" He offers softly. His hand searched for Luciens but he couldn't feel anything. His hand fell back to his side.
Lucien gently took Aki's hand, lacing their fingers together to try and reassure the other male.
The king nodded. "That…might work." he replied.
He slowly nods as he squeezes Luciens hand back gratefully. It was so dark, it scared him. He held onto the others hand out of fear that he would be left alone. "Yes… I think that would work." He mutters to himself scenarios running through his head.
The king took a deep breath, looking at René and running a hand through his hair.
René fidgeted anxiously.
Aki stayed silent, not wanting to say anything. He bit his lip a little bit, holding on tightly to Luciens hand.
Lucien rubbed his thumb over Aki's knuckles, trying to soothe the other male.
René approached the king. "Dad?" He said softly.
The king let out a breath.
Aki slowly eased when he felt the other rub his knuckles. He listened as the other talked to his father. He leaned closer to Lucien.
The king stared at Rene for a moment, then got up and wrapped his arms around the small boy.
Lucien held Aki's hand still.
Aki slowly moved closer to Lucien, needing to feel him there. He was terrified that he was alone despite the fact that he knew Lucien was there.
Lucien wrapped his arm around Aki, holding him close. "Thank you." He whispered.
Aki smiled a little, leaning into his side. "You're welcome…" he whispers softly. "I'm not sure why you're thanking me though… I'm afraid I might have complicated things… but… I'm glad I did."
Lucien chuckled softly, kissing the top of Aki's head. "You brought back my baby brother. Why shouldn't I say thank you?" He replied quietly. "Hell, at this point I'd do just about anything you could possibly ask of me."
Aki smiled at the feeling of the others lips. He chuckled at the others words before going silent. He snuggled closer to Lucien, the world was so dark, and it felt so lonely. He cleared his throat before quietly saying. "I think Rene could use some rest… Coming back from the dead is no easy task, and takes a lot of energy out of the person bringing them back and the person being brought back."
Lucien held Aki closer, and nodded. "René." He called softly. "Let's get you to bed, yeah? Your own rooms are…not fit to be slept in, but there's a couch in my room. I'll take the couch, if you and Aki want to share the bed?"
René nodded a little, coming over to his brother. "Okay." He replied simply, rubbing at his eyes.
Aki nuzzled into his side, breathing in his scent before smiling weakly. "Don't worry about sleeping on the couch, Lucien…" He mutters softly. "I'll take the couch…" He mutters, feeling weary and fatigued. He held tightly onto Lucien's hand, a soft sigh leaving his lips.
Lucien shook his head. "No, you're sleeping on the bed." he replied, kissing Aki's forehead, then his cheek. "Please?" he didn't want to make Aki sleep on the couch alone. Not with everything the other male had just done and gone through.
Aki leaned into the kisses, savoring each one. "You should sleep with your little brother. He'll need the support." He whispers as he nuzzles into the others side. "I don't mind."
Lucien frowned a little bit. "But I…" he sighed softly. "I don't want to make you sleep alone and cut off like that, love." he replied quietly, cupping Aki's cheek in his hand.
Aki leaned into Lucien's palm, a soft sigh leaving his lips. "It's alright." He whispers before tilting his head up and smiling gently. "I think your brother needs you more right now." He assures gently.
