"Another 90 sounds great to me," he said with a smile, rubbing his face and yawning.
"Would ya mind slowing down? You're walking way too damn fast."
"Another 90 sounds great to me," he said with a smile, rubbing his face and yawning.
"Would ya mind slowing down? You're walking way too damn fast."
She chuckled lightly, "Sorry…it's just how I walk." She slowed down slightly again and looked over at him, "Maybe you just need to walk faster."
"And give you more material for jokes when I fall? Fuck no." He grunted as he got to her speed, flipping off Mark the Fucking Asshole Fuckwad Robot as he called out, "You shouldn't be here!" as they passed.
(Just stacking up all of the names they call him throughout the story)
(XD)
"Fuck off Mark," She called to him before chuckling, "You falling would definitely give me more material to joke about," Again she slowed down though, as much as she was itching to walk faster.
He turned to the dorms and groaned as they saw a single door flashing a good 100 meters down the hall. "Of fucking course, we get the farthest one," he complained with a huff.
(So, since there are so many people, the dorms are big enough for 5 people to stay in to there's only 1000 rooms to build instead of 5000)
She chuckled, "You'll be fine, walking that much farther isn't going to kill you." Anneliese walked a little faster and glanced behind her shoulder at him, "C'mon slowpoke."
"Okay, you're trying to make me fall." Despite his grumblings, he did speed up, managing to keep up with a moderate amount of effort.
"I'm not trying to make you fall…though I'll admit you falling would be hilarious." She matched his pass and focused on the door, a small bounce in her step.
They reached the door in around 15 minutes, the door blinking lazily to them as they stood in front of it. There was a glass panel to the right of the door frame, an outline of a hand glowing the same baby blue as the door did.
She reached her hand out and put it on the blue outlined hand on the frame, watching the door to see if it would open.
It indeed did, resulting in a round of applauds from Milo. "Good job."
"I didn't do much," She chuckled lightly and smiled, walking into the dorm and looking around, "If there's a window in here I call the bed closest to it."
An entire wall was a window, making Milo shiver as soon as he walked into it. There were 5 beds lined up- two on the left, 3 on the right. Nothing else of importance could be discovered in it.
She pointed to one of the beds on the left closest to the window, "Mine." She said, not giving any room for argument as she walked up to he window and looked out with a bright smile.
He shook his head, shivering again. "You can keep it, man. I don't want it." He flopped down onto the closest bed to the door. "Shit's creepy, man."
"Space is not creepy, it's big and bright and amazing," she walked back to her newly claimed bed and sat down, gazing out the window, "And again, don't call me man."
"Force of habit, woman," he said, putting special emphasis on the woman to prove a point.
Milo's eyes began to flutter as his head sunk lower and lower into the pillow, visibly relaxing what seemed to be every muscle in his body.
She rolled her eyes and sank backward on the bed, closing her eyes as soon as her head hit the pillow, "Wake me up in twenty years," She mumbled, rolling on her side and facing the window.
"How does 90 sound?" he responded, a sleepy undertone seeming to float his voice along.
"That sounds amazing," She opened one eye and looked out the giant window, studying the view and smiling slightly as she fell asleep.
After a few moments, Milo also fell asleep For hours they slept peacefully, until a mind-numbingly loud alarm seemed jerked them violently from their sleep.
Anneliese jerked awake at the alarm, she was sleeping on her back and sat straight up, her eyes flying open. "What's happening?" She asked, sleepiness clearing from her voice as she looked around.
Everything was floating in mid-air, including her, Milo, and the beds. "LOW GRAVITY!" flashed across the top edge of the window, which appeared to double as a digital screen. Milo was somehow still sleeping like a baby, his mouth open and snoring lightly.
"Shit," She said, "Shitshitshitshityshitfuck, what do I do. Milo, wake up!" She called to him, her arms flailing in the air as she realized that she was floating and wasn't touching the ground.
