"Good of shape? I'm fat, dude. I just wear baggy clothing to keep it from showing."
"Good of shape? I'm fat, dude. I just wear baggy clothing to keep it from showing."
She raised an eyebrow and chuckled, "I doubt that, you probably have a six pack." As soon as the words came out of her mouth she blushed slightly and looked away.
He didn't hide his surprised grin, but made no comment about it.
"Sorry about that," She mumbled, "I don't really think about what I'm saying half the time I talk." She rubbed the back of her neck and cleared her throat, "Anyway, moving past that, should we keep exploring?"
"It doesn't look like we were meant to stay here for very long, but sure, we can check out more of the place." He rubbed his nose, the crooked grin still resting on his face.
She nodded and smiled sheepishly, still embarrassed about the comment she made, "Then there won't be much left to discover in this place and maybe there'll be a kitchen or food somewhere."
"Food. Food sounds great." He smiled, it already forgotten in the mess of his brain.
"Then let's go find some." She said, smiling and heading towards the door that they had walked through, a bounce in her step gain.
"Slow down, damnit, I can't walk that quick." After a few more minutes of walking, they came across the cafeteria, large touchscreens plastered all over each and every wall. There were despensers installed into little cubby-holes that presumably gave out the food you desired.
Anneliese smiled at the selection and wandered around the room, looking at the labels and chuckling at the more exotic names of food. "How did they keep all of this here?" She asked, motioning to the walls with wonder.
He shrugged in response. "The fuck if I know, man."
She nodded and turned back to the food, looking around as she decided what she wanted to try and if she should even eat anything right now.
He attempted to tap a panel, but the entire screen came up with a giant "X," and a voice stated, "You are not a Gold Member passenger. Therefore, you cannot have this item."
Milo tried another, then groaned as he got the same response. "What the tits?"
"Let me try," She said, walking over to where he was and tapping the same panel, waiting for the response from the machine while rocking on her feet.
"Accepted!" It said, then a bowl of cereal was lowered from the dispenser.
Anneliese smiled happily and looked over at him, picking up the bowl and holding it out to him, "Here you go." In all honesty she was quite surprised that it gave her the food, she had no clue that she was a Gold Member passenger.
"Looks like I'm poor," he said with a grin, taking it from her hands and walking to the nearest table.
She chuckled, "And I'm rich?" She looked around and found something that looked decently good, tapping on the panel and waiting for the food to dispense so she could eat, "Is it bad that I had no clue that I was a Gold Member?" She asked.
He shrugged. "I didn't know I wasn't. How much did you pay for the ticket?"
(Normal tickets are $100,000)
"Quite a lot… I think $175,000 or so?" She shrugged and sat down next to him with her food in her hands, "What about you?"
He raised his eyebrows. "$100,000. Well, damn and I thought I got ripped off.
She chuckled lightly, "I mean, I thought about it and I figured that if I was going to be traveling through space I'd want to have everything they offered."
"See, I could barely afford the ticket." He sat down and took a bite of the cereal. "Had to sell my dog, too. Many tears were shed for gallant Brad the Pug."
"You used to have a dog?" She asked curiously, small smile on her face, "What did Brad the Pug look like?" Anneliese started eating happily, trying her best to not seem like she stuffing the food in her face as fast as she could.
"Ugly as hell, but adorable." He smiled as he thought of the glorious Brad. "He's very chunky because his Dad is too soft on him, and he loves to get carried."
