There were two halls they had to choose from, one with a holographic sign that said "Dorms," or a similar sign that said "Recreation." Milo read both aloud and looked over at Anne to see what she wanted.

She thought for a moment and then suggested, "Maybe we can check out the recreation first? Then the dorms?" She looked over at Milo before heading down the recreation hallway, a light bounce in her step.
"I have no clue how you've recovered so quick," he said, shaking his head as he walked after her.
"I have no clue how you've recovered so quick," he said, shaking his head as he walked after her. "I'm still struggling to keep my fucking balance."
She laughed lightly, only glancing back at him for a moment, "Trust me, it's taking all of my willpower and focus not to let my knees buckle or make a fool of myself."
"If you fall, I promise to only laugh for a little bit before helping you up," he said with a smile. "And I'll only crack….hm….4 jokes."
"That make me feel so much better," She laughed again and smiled, "Lets see…if you fall again..I'm going to crack at very least…three jokes before I help you up, and then maybe one more just for added effect."
"Only 3? Disappointing." He managed to catch up to her, now only walking with a small limp. "I expected more."
She glanced at him and raised an eyebrow, still smiling, "Would five make you feel better? Maybe another one just to be safe?" She took a few more steps before one of her legs almost gave out, causing her to stumble forward before she caught herself and continued walking, clearing her throat and pretending like it didn't happen.
"That seems worthy of a joke, doesn't it?" He asked, grinning.
"I suppose.." She mumbled, a small smile tugging at her lips, "But it better be good."
"Damn, I'm only an expert in cringe-inducing jokes. The worse the better for me." His grin grew wicked.
Anneliese chuckled lightly, "Well then, give it your best shot." She focused more on walking now, not wanting to have her knee give out again.
He opened his mouth to tell it, but just then they walked through some double doors, and the room inside made his speechless. All of the farside wall was made of 5 inch thick glass that showed what was outside of the ship; vast galaxies, nebula of various vibrant colors, and stunning stars. What was inside was a basketball court, the rim and backboards seemingly floating in midair. A single basketball rested at halfcourt, and Milo couldn't help but walk over and begin dribbling, pleased he actually could.
She stopped at the enterance and just looked at the amazing view, her eyes widening in wonder. Ignoring him and the basketball she walked to the window and stared out at space, "It's beautiful.." She whispered, glancing back at Milo, "How can you focus on basketball when there's a view like this out here?"
He stared at the basketball for a moment, then looked over at her. "I don't wanna focus on how far away we are from everyone. How we're alone."
He went back to dribbling, venturing to take steps with the motion. Immediately he tripped over his own feet and fell, this time catching himself before his hit his head again.
"I'm beginning to think something's wrong," he said, not even bothering to stand back up.
She turned back to him just in time to see him fall and she chuckled softly, turning away from the window and walking over to him. "You alright?" She asked, once again holding out a hand to help him up, "Now I get to crack a few jokes."
He took the hand, groaning as he got to his feet.
"I don't think everything's coming together," he mumbled, rubbing his thighs with a grimace.
"You'll be fine, just take it easy for a little bit." She smiled, "How was your trip?" She joked, taking a step away from him and turning back to look at the window.
"Aw, that was perfect!" He said, laughing and he stumbled his way next to her.
"I guess that means I'll see you next fall?" She joked again, telling the only other joke she could think of or remember. A smile appeared on her face and she looked over at him before glancing back out at the galaxy and stars again.
His smile faded as he continued to look out at the empty space, replaced by quiet disparity. Good God, we're gonna die on a floating trashcan with 4,998 other sleeping fuckers and a retarded robot.
Her smile faded slightly and she shifted around on her feet, "So, did you used to play basketball a lot?" She asked, breaking the silence and motioning back at the basketball court.
He nodded, snapped out of the trance he had slipped into. "Yeah. With how much I eat, it's probably the only reason why I'm not 300 pounds."
She chuckled, "You eat that much?" She asked, motioning to him, "You must play quite a few sports if you're in this good of shape."
