“You’re quite the day of sunshine, you know that?” I huffed, studying her.
“You’re quite the day of sunshine, you know that?” I huffed, studying her.
“Oh, I’m sorry for hating the ally of the two people who started the mafia war currently ruining my family’s life.”
Venom and sarcasm dripped from my voice, deadly and accurate.
“You can hate me all you want, just don’t be an ass about it.” I shot back, a challenging smirk on my face. “Have a little tact, Capulet.”
I held my right hand out in front of my face, bringing my left hand up until they were level, then moving the left as if I was cranking a wheel or a lever. The more I ‘cranked’, the higher my middle finger rose.
“Wow, aren’t you clever?” I commented with blantant boredom.
And at that point, I was too fed up to care about retaining my last shreds of dignity.
“How nice of you to notice.”
“Look at you, learning how to be nice. I’m impressed. Proud even.” I teased, debating on leaving early or not.
Finally, I just resolved to ignore every stupid comment he threw at me, every goddamm remark. Gritting my teeth until pain shot yo the sides of my head, I looked away from Mercutio, reminding myself to breathe before I lost it completely.
Growing bored with Marina’s self restraint, I tore a piece of paper out of my notebook, half heartedly scribbling the word hi on it. I crumpled it up into a ball and threw it at her.
I caught the ball of paper the second before it hit the side of my head, barely glancing up at it. Sending it flying into the garbage can on the far side of the room, I gathered my legs onto the desk, sighing through my nose.
I groaned as she caught it, ripping out another piece and repeating the processes, this time skipping the writing and just throwing it instantly.
Once again, I caught and crushed it in the palm of my hand without missing a beat. The crumpled sheet joined its brother in the trash can, where Mercutio belonged, in a matter of a few seconds, leaving me unscathed from the ‘assault.’
Smirking I grabbed two pieces of paper, considering this somewhat of a game now. I repeated the process. Rip, crumple, throw.
And eventually, the more Mercutio bombarded me with crumpled papers, the less I reacted, until I was just siting perfectly still while the destroyed worksheets bounced off of me.
I couldn’t even stifle my laughter, recording a short video of about five pieces of paper hitting Marina. “Romeo’s gonna find this hysterical.” I snickered.
His snicker drew my attention on accident, causing my head to turn in his direction. But my eyes landed on the phone in his hand, the phone with the camera aimed at me, and I froze.
I looked up at Marina making eye contact, freezing incevI realized I’d been caught. I promptly snatched my bag off the floor and made a break for the door, the phone clutched tightly in my hand.
“No!”
I intercepted him halfway there, wrapping one hand around his wrist and yanking him sharply off balance. Then, delivering a knee to his stomach, I snatched his phone up and farted away.
*darted!!!
😂))
I groaned, hitting the floor with a loud crash. But I didn’t have time to access damages, rolling onto my side and springing to my feet. I bolted after her and tackled her to the ground, trying to wrestle my phone out of her hands.
I let out a yelp of surprise, pain exploding at the back of my head the moment it hit the ground. Instantly. And suddenly, I was shaking again, internally pleading him to get off of me as I clutched the decide to my chest.
“Christ, didn’t mean to use that much force.” I muttered, very gently lifting up the back of her head to make sure there wasn’t any blood. Seeing it wasn’t that severe I let out a sigh of relief. “Please stop shaking, I’m not a monster, okay? Just want my phone back. A lot of shit on there could get me in trouble.”
(Sorry for all my typos)
“Get—Get off of me,” I breathed, voice trembling. Fear made my limbs lock up, rendering me paralyzed as wave after wave of panic crushed down on me. “I-I’ll give it to you—just please for the love of god get off—“
Desperation clawed at my throat, my throat constricting until I couldn’t breath.
(Don’t worry about it!)
“Okay! Okay!” I scrambled to get off Marina as fast as possible. “Fuck. Just… just put of phone on the ground. I have a water bottle in my bag, it’s not even opened.” I fished it out, the plastic crinkling as I rolled it across the floor, afraid of scaring her again.
I scrambled away from him and got to my feet, one fist pressed against my mouth, You’re safe, I told myself firmly, but that didn’t stop me from trembling all over, forgetting everything else.
(I think I’m going to head to bed now, sorry!)
