“That’s not very good behavior for detention, is it?” I taunted, stretching out my long legs and sinking into the uncomfortable chair.

(Come on, I want them to kiss already!)

(Damn it.)

If they got into a fight….. there could be a lot of rolling around and pinning each other to the floor)
"Do I look like I give any shits?" I drawled, pinning him down with yet another glare. God, he was so unbearable….
(And then a lot of intense makeout sessions.)

(Yes.)
“I don’t think you want me to answer that.” I snorted, holding back another peal of laughter.
I flipped him off, turning my head away to catch a glimpse of the time. Still half an hour left……….. half an hour of hell… Sighing loudly, I ran a hand through my mussed hair, shaking it out.
“Rude.” I scoffed, going onto my phone and fixing my hair in the camera. The dark brown curls on my head seemed to be especially unruly, which I found to be slightly annoying. I got to work trying to smooth them out.
I flipped him off a second time for good measure, hardly bothering to look at him.
“You’re being over dramtic. Wait to bother me until I at least finish doing this?” I rolled my eyes, trying to convince my curls to stay flat without my usual gel.
“I’m an Italian theatre kid, dramatic is kind of my thing.”
I delivered this line flatly, but was suddenly reminded of the upcoming announcement for this year’s show.
“You certainly don’t disappoint.” I snarked, giving up on my hair with a halfhearted sigh.
“Wow, I’m so relieved.”
My eye roll was far more exaggerated than strictly necessary, but then again, this was Mercutio. Drastic measures were a must.
“Don’t worry so much about disappointing me. I know it worries you deeply, but I promise, I take pity on you.” I matched her sarcasm with ease, looking over at her.
“Pity.” I spat the word out like it had rotted in my mouth. “What a disgusting word.”
“Thanks.” I rolled my eyes again. “Does nothing ever make you happy? You’re unbearable.” I grumbled, turning my attention to a starling on the windowsill, whistling softly at it.
I began to tug on the edge of my shirtsleeve, looking anywhere but him. “I’ll be happy when you’re out of my sight and with my strangely happy best friend.”
The starling sang back at me, and I promptly ignored Marina for a couple minutes, conversing with the bird by song instead. I extended my hand towards it, but it flew off, leaving me to stare out the window again. “Strangely happy? Are you allergic to happiness now? Can’t even let your friends have it?”
I stared at him somewhat owlishly as he sang to the bird in the window sill….. I had never seen him act that gently before. But when he turned back to me and spoke, I felt my blood boil.
“You really don’t understand, do you?” I snapped, straightening my back,
“Enlighten me.” I watched her intently, reclining in the chair.
“No,” I said bluntly, unable to stand the sighs of him any more.
