Every few seconds, I fidgeted anxiously, looking down at my watch. Where was Romeo? Had he been caught? Delayed? Had something happened to him?
I stood beside the tracks by the subway, waiting anxiously for my… boyfriend? Lover?
I jogged down the streets of Verona, trying to avoid suspicion. I gave Mercutio some half assed excuse, but he was so obsessed with getting his phone that it didn’t take much.
I got sort of lost at one point, but after awhile I was pretty sure I got back on track. A feeble streets later and I made my way to the subway tracks, hoping I was in the right place.
I sighed, turning around to look at the train schedules—and that’s when I saw him.
Immediately, I got to my feet, taking off in a sprint towards him.
Looking around and debating on asking someone for directions, I froze as I saw Juliet racing towards me. My heart pounded as fast as her feet did against the concrete. I couldn’t stop the smile from stretching across my face.
I threw myself into his arms, letting out something akin to an exhilarated laugh.
“I missed you!”
“Ow! Arm broken! Careful!” I yelped, gripping onto with my right arm while shielding my left, wincing in pain.
I jerked back, frantically looking him. “Sorry! Are you okay? Did I hurt you?”
“Not a lot.” I smiled weakly, gently holding my now throbbing injured arm. “I missed you too, Juliet.” I added, leaning forward to press a kiss to her forehead.
Threading my arms around Romeo, I pulled him around a corner, successfully shielding us from the public eye. "Kiss me?"
I allowed myself to be pulled away by Juliet. The way she looked at me made my heart pound, warmth spreading through my veins. “All you had to do was ask.” I murmured, bending down and pressing my lips to hers.
Finally, after a long, hard day of endless fantasizing with no result or satisfaction, his mouth was claiming mine. I melted against him, pushing my fingers into his hair, pulling him closer. "Finally…" I breathed against him, inhaling his familiar scent.
Juliet pressed herself against me, awarding me with the skin to skin contact I had been craving all day. The secretive messages and stolen hand squeezes weren’t nearly enough to sate it anymore. But this? This is what I was longing for. I placed my hand at the small of Juliet’s back, encouraging her to hold me close as our lips crashed together.
Romeo.
He filled each of my thoughts, dominating every inch of my mind. My heart pounded in perfect synchronization to the rhythm of our kisses, and as my mouth grew hungrier on his, it thundered harder. Desperate by now, I pulled him against me until there was no space left between us. It was just him and me and our hot breaths, mingling in the crisp air around us.
I pulled away for air, heavily panting, pressing my forehead against hers. “Did I ever tell you how beautiful you are?” I asked between breaths, lifting my hand to cup her cheek.
"You did.." I breathed, chest heaving. "But I'm not as beautiful as you."
Leaning into his soft palm, I looked up at him through lowered lashes, pink seeping slowly across my cheeks.
I chuckled and shook my head, peppering her face with light, playful kisses.
Sighing in contentment, I burrowed deeper into his one-armed embrace, soaking up his warmth. "You're in luck today. I'm going to educate you on your culture," I told him playfully, scrunching up my nose.
“Our culture is making out in a subway? I mean, not that I’m complaining…” I teased, enjoying the way Juliet sped up my heart rate.
I swatted his uninjured arm playfully. "No, idiot, not making out in a subway. Come, we've got a half-hour bus ride ahead of us."
“Whatever you say.” I laughed, holding out my arm for her to take. “I’m being kidnapped aren’t I?”
Snorting loudly, I took his arm and pulled him up the stairs to the ground floor with me. "Definitely."
“I’m terrified. A whole bus ride? Cramped together in a seat? How will we manage?” I grinned, my voice dripping with sarcasm.
"If we sit at the back, I might even be in your lap for a bit of it," I shot back teasingly as we emerged into the bright sun.
“Really?” My Head snapped up, maybe a bit more excited than I should’ve been. “Psh, whatever. If you have to be, I guess.”
