Simon nodded, gently setting her back on the nightstand. “Okay…goodnight then.” He turned off the lights before getting into bed.
Simon nodded, gently setting her back on the nightstand. “Okay…goodnight then.” He turned off the lights before getting into bed.
"Goodnight," Mia echoed. She settled down for the night where she was sat, intent on watching over Simon.
By now, though, Astral had passed out- er, fallen asleep, after his little existential crisis.
Simon fell asleep rather quickly, buried under a pile of blankets. Thank god his ribs were actually getting a chance to heal some while he did so, he’d had his binder off all day.
((potential future fluff of Astral monitoring Simon’s binder usage and being like “Sy It’s been 8 hours, come on.” 👀?))
(Awww, yes)
(He goes out of his way to tell Simon how handsome he looks and just, very masc compliments when he sees Simon's struggling)
Astral was up first in the morning, sitting up and stretching. He'd need to find himself a proper bed soon, he was starting to get a bit of back pain from sleeping on the couch. He let out a soft grumble. He doubted Simon would be okay with him returning to his own bed any time soon.
((awwwwwww yessssssss))
Simon would of course move if Astral wanted him to, as long as he didn’t have to sleep in the living room. But until then, he’d stay perfectly comfortable in Astral’s room.
(Astral is honestly going to be so supportive here and feel so bad about the misgendering that first night ;-;)
Astral sighed, moving to the kitchen to get cooking. He'd make something light, see if Simon wasn't finishing his food because he was full or if it was more leaning towards psychological.
And have a mini freak out that he actually cared about these things.
((that’s good, Astral better overcompensate for that lmao))
It was indeed more psychological, as Astral would find out. Simon of course wasn’t planning on telling Astral about it, but if the god asked, that’d be a different story.
(oh totally aha)
Astral would, when he noticed. He set about making breakfast, setting it out before going to knock on Simon's door.
"Good morning!" He said softly, in case Simon was up.
Simon was actually still asleep, at least partially. He stirred when he heard Astral at the door, sitting up and blinking tiredly. “Mornin…” he called back, yawning.
"Is it alright if I come in?" Astral asked, hand on the knob. "Breakfast is ready." Astral was doing his best to act civil, and it was freaking him out that he wanted to. No, no, if this kept up he was dropping the act and just treating Simon the way he had the others.
We all know it was too late for him to really try that, though. He was already too far gone.
“Yeah that’s perfectly fine.” He responded, automatically feeling bad that Astral had gone through the effort for him. “You didn’t have to make breakfast for me, but thank you for doing so.”
Astral opened the door, smiling some.
"It's perfectly alright," he assured, moving to be sitting with Simon on the side of the bed. "I enjoyed making it."
He nodded, that seemed to make him feel a bit better. “I’m glad…I wouldn’t want to give you too much trouble.” He smiled over at the god. “How did you sleep?”
"I slept well," Astral lied. He smiled in turn, especially when he saw that Simon was feeling better about this.
"And it's no trouble at all, really. You're my guest."
“Okay, as long as you don’t mind.” He said, carefully taking the plate from the god and beginning to eat.
Astral offered a soft hum of content when Simon took his food, nodding.
"I truly don't," he assured. He moved to take a bite of his own, glancing at Mia on the table. He had no idea at the moment, of course, that Simon could talk with her.
Simon nodded in acknowledgement, eating quietly. “This is really good”
"I'm glad it is," Astral admitted. He ate quietly as well, finishing all of his food and glancing over occasionally to see if Simon did the same.
Simon hadn’t. He’d eaten slower than the cod, and it looks like he finished the same amount as yesterday.
Astral let out a soft breath, looking to Simon.
"Was it too much?" If Simon really did only eat a certain percentage, then Astral would have to make sure he made nutrition-rich foods to keep Simon healthy.
With a heaping spoonful of why the hell am I caring so much about a damn mortal.
“No it was fine! I just um….I don’t really eat a lot.” He mumbled a bit at the end, honestly a bit embarrassed.
((Okaaaaaaaay my responses should be faster now sorry lol))
(okay aha!)
Astral nodded slowly, moving to place his hand gently on Simon's shoulder. It was clear he wanted to know why, but he didn't say a word in case it upset Simon.
“It just takes me awhile to adjust to new places and it’s hard for me to eat when I’m under stress. N-not that being here stresses me out! I was just under a lot of stress before I got here too.” He explained quickly.
Astral nodded some. He moved closer, gently hugging Simon.
"That's okay," he said softly. "I get that you were really stressed. I'll do everything I can to help, okay?"
He nodded, wrapping his arms around Astral, hugging the god gently. “Okay…thank you…”
