Astral offered the die to Simon when his turn was over, nodding.
"You're welcome!" He was still grinning, half-folded around Simon by now with their position, Simon's back to the god's chest, his head tucked under Astral's chin and the god's arms around Simon's waist securely.
Simon took the die from Astral, leaning forward so he could roll it on the table. He only got it high enough to move a few spaces. “Aw man…oh well that’s unfortunate.” He shrugged, smiling softly to himself.
Astral chuckled some, picking up the die to roll himself.
"Well, it's a slow game sometimes," he admitted. It just meant more time with Simon in his lap, which couldn't be all that bad.
(Ah yes back to me pretending I know how Clue works XD)
“I guess that’s true.” Simon agreed. “It’s been too long since I’ve played a board game apparently.” He chuckled softly.
(XD)
"Mm… Well, we can play whenever you want, if you'd like," Astral said. He smiled as they played the game, holding Simon the entire time.
“That’d be nice.” Simon said, humming softly as he relaxed in Astral’s arms. He stayed that way for the rest of the game, sometimes having to ask Astral questions about how things worked. But besides that, he sat there quietly as they played.
Astral was more than happy to guide Simon through the game as they played, smiling softly the entire time. Astral did end up winning, but that wasn't so unexpected. He hugged Simon once the game was over, grinning.
"Did you have fun?"
“Mhm! Thanks for playing with me.” Simon said, leaning into Astral’s arms with a soft sigh. “Can we go eat again? I’m hungry already.”
"Sure!" Astral stood with Simon still in his arms. He sat the human down, smiling as he led the way to the kitchen.
Simon liked that Astral was willing to carry him around like this. This was all so nice, Astral really was a good friend to him. He hummed softly, smiling up at the god.
Astral smiled back. He wanted to be that good friend to Simon.
"How do lava cakes sound?" he asked. "We can figure out an actual meal while they bake."
“That sounds amazing! Can you actually make those? That seems really complicated.” He asked. Astral didn’t seem like the type of guy who would know how to bake. But he supposed that when you were a god you learned how to do lots of things.
"Oh, they're not complicated at all!" Astral brought Simon to the kitchen and had him sit down, already pulling the ingredients he needed out.
"Now, what flavors do you like the most?"
“I like caramel a lot but I know not everyone does so we don’t have to put that in there if you don’t like it.” He said, propping his elbows up on the counter and watching Astral move around the kitchen. “Do you want me to help you with anything?”
"Caramel sounds perfect to me," Astral assured. He offered a smile as he gathered ingredients, humming.
"You can help, if you'd like," he said, "but there's no need to."
“I’d like to. But I can probably only help with the easier things. Just tell me what you want me to do.” He said, getting up from his spot at the counter.
"Okay then!" Astral grinned as Simon got up, turning to the ingredients he had on hand. "Think you can help me measure everything out?"
“Yep I should be able to handle that. Where are the measuring cups at so I can grab them?” He asked, looking over at the god.
"There, in that cabinet on the second shelf up," Astral said, pointing without looking as he smiled.
Simon nodded, moving over to the cabinet that Astral had mentioned, finding them exactly where the god had said. He brought out most of them, not knowing how big all the measurements were. He set them all down on the counter next to Astral. “Okay that should be good!”
"Great!" Astral moved the recipe card he had pulled out of… somewhere, over to Simon, letting him see it.
"Could you get the flour ready please?"
“Sure thing!” He said, measuring out the flour carefully. The bag was relatively heavy so he made sure to keep a tight hold on it as he measured out how much they needed. He carefully set the measuring cup down, closing up the bag of flour afterwards.
Astral counted out the eggs and measured the sugar, smiling.
"Oh, and the baking powder too?" He asked, looking to Simon with that same smile.
“Got it!” Simon said, measuring out the baking powder as well. Once that was done, he looked for anything else he could measure out that Astral hadn’t already gotten and pouring that out as well.
With everything measured out, Astral got to work, directing Simon on which ingredients to combine in bowls as Astral did his own work.
"Thank you for the help, it's going so much faster now!"
