“Got it!” He said before picking a card out of the deck and putting it in the envelope like Astral had told him to. “What now?” He asked, leaning back to look up at Astral.
“Got it!” He said before picking a card out of the deck and putting it in the envelope like Astral had told him to. “What now?” He asked, leaning back to look up at Astral.
"Well, we've got two more to shuffle and put a card in before we role to see who goes first!" Astral hummed, shuffling the weapons and putting one away before doing the same with the rooms before offering Simon the die.
Simon nodded in acknowledgement, watching Astral finish the rest of the process. He carefully took the die from Astral, rolling it around in his hand for a few seconds before releasing it onto the table.
Astral looked down, smiling a moment. Simon had gotten pretty high. He reached out to pick the die up himself, shaking it before rolling. He watched it clatter onto the board, resting his chin on Simon's head.
Thankfully Astral’s number was higher, so the god would go first. Simon was honestly a bit relieved, still a little unsure how to play. He’d get the hang of it though.
"I go first, then." Astral smiled some, picking the die up again to roll. It landed on a four, so he moved his piece towards the entrance of one of the rooms without being able to go in.
"We're trying to get into rooms so we can guess who did what," Astral explained. "We know some of who it wasn't, or what weapon or room it wasn't, from our Clue cards, and we try to figure out who the other person has by asking the right things."
“Ohhhh..okay that makes sense. So since you didn’t make it into the room, is it my turn now?” He asked, already picking up the die and moving it around in his hand just in case.
"Yeup! And since there are no doors within six spaces from your starting point on the board either, I'll go again after you." Astral offered a smile, still holding Simon close to his chest and in his lap.
Simon nodded, smiling back at Astral before taking his turn and moving the amount of spaces given. He handed the die back to Astral, his character not as far ahead as Astral’s, but close.
Astral watched as Simon moved further in comparison from his start point than Astral had, seeing as their pieces were on opposite sides of the board in their points. Astral took the die with an appreciative smile, rolling.
Simon smiled widely, seeming very content with his spot in Astral’s lap. And really, just the whole situation in general. It all felt very safe, and comforting. He was really starting to like it here.
Astral was content, too. He wanted Simon to be able to feel the way he was all the time, to keep him safe and happy. He moved his piece, just outside a doorway. He'd be in the next turn. He hummed, offering the die to Simon. He let his head rest in Simon's hair, unable to help with the small kiss be put there like in the bedroom.
Simon took the die from Astral, starting to hum softly as he took his own turn, letting the die roll out onto the table. He moved the given amount of spaces before handing Astral the die again.
Astral hummed his thanks, rolling. He moved into the room, smiling.
"Okay, I'm going to look over my cards, and then try to guess," he said. He pulled back from Simon some, looking at his cards from behind Simon's back.
"Aaand… I think it was Colonel Mustard, in the ballroom, with the wrench," he said, moving the yellow piece and the small wrench into the room.
"If you have any of those cards, you show me just one of them."
“Hmmmm..” Simon hunched over a bit so Astral wouldn’t be able to see his cards, looking through them quickly to see what he had. He did indeed have one of those cards, and showed it to Astral, making sure the rest of his cards were now hidden.
Astral looked at the card, making note of it.
"Thank you! Here, your turn." Astral offered the die, humming some. He rested his head on the human's head again, arms going back around Simon's waist. Yes, he was quite happy with this situation indeed, the feeling seeping slowly into the tie between himself and Simon.
“Mmmm I have a real quick question.” He said, shifting to look up at Astral. “What does it mean that I showed you that card? Sorry if you’ve explained it already..” he asked softly.
"Well, it basically just shows me that that card isn't in the envelope," Astral explained. "We're trying to find out what cards the other has to narrow down which cards neither of us has. It's okay to ask several times, too, it's your first time playing. I'm more than happy to tell you, as many times as you need me to."
“Okay I think I get it! Thank you for being so patient!” He smiled up at the god, carefully taking the die from his hand and rolling for his own turn.
"You're welcome!" Astral smiled back, resting his head back on top of Simon's with a happy hum. He kept his arms around Simon's waist, eyes closing for a moment as the mortal rolled. Yes, this was nice indeed.
Simon made it into one of the rooms with that roll, thinking a moment before talking. “Ummm I think Mrs. Peacock in the lounge with a dagger.” He suggested, hoping he was doing everything right.
Astral nodded, pulling his arms from around Simon to look at his cards.
"Here," he said, showing Simon the dagger card before putting it back in his hand. "You're doing great!"
Simon smiled widely at the praise, feeling relieved. “Thank you! I’m glad I’m doing everything right.” He said, picking up the die and offering it to Astral.
Astral offered a grin, picking the die up when it was offered to roll.
"Mhm, you're doing wonderfully." The god rested his chin back on Simon's head, moving his piece out of the room.
Simon smiled widely, settling back down in his spot in Astral’s lap. “Thank you!” He said again. He was thankful that he seemed to be understanding every part of the game so far though.
