Ian rolled his eyes and picked Yoshi. “Okay there I did it already.” Then he picked a bike. “Now I’m going to kick your ass.”
Ian rolled his eyes and picked Yoshi. “Okay there I did it already.” Then he picked a bike. “Now I’m going to kick your ass.”
Cassie started the game and leaned back. "I'm so going to win this."
Ian leaned forward in concentration. “You wish.”
"Yes, honestly. Tell me everything you know about me, anything you've heard or seen." Even if she told Kaori or anyone about what's going on, no one would believe her. She found a table and sat down waiting for Kaori to speak. Honestly she wasn't sure if anyone else was coming at all. Which might work out better for her.
Cassie rolled her eyes. "Honestly, don't even bother trying. I could do this with my eyes closed."
Ian narrowed his eyes. “So could I. I do this with my feet.”
"Do it, I dare you. Close your eyes and play with your feet," she laughed.
“Then you have to do that too!” Ian said, pausing the game and putting the controller between his feet.
Cassie shook her head. "I only said I could do it with my eyes closed. You're the idiot who has to use his feet."
“Fiiine,” Ian complained with a sigh. He had played with his feet before but it wasn’t like he was actually good at it.
Cassie laughed brightly. "Hurry up and close your eyes so I can start the game."
Ian rolled his eyes pointedly before closing them. “Okay okay, there. Are you happy now?”
"Quite," Cassie said, starting the game before closing her eyes. "Watch me drive off a cliff," she joked. "Oh wait, you can't."
“You can’t either,” Ian teased back. “Notice how I keep stopping because it’s next to impossible to press the stupid button with your feet.” He laughed.
"You're not allowed to complain, you brought this on yourself," she smiled.
“I am going to complain all I want, because I am fully aware I am a dumbass who has a mouth bigger than his brain,” Ian retorted.
Cassie rolled her closed eyes. "Yes, that's true."
“You weren’t supposed to agree with me!” Ian protested.
"Everything, huh?" Kaori raised his eyebrows. "Let's see… where do I begin? You and Cassie, you always stuck together, never gave a crap about the stuff people said about you, but you didn't really care much about anyone else either… You aren't the type of person who just- just forgives people all of a sudden. Then, then you changed overnight. I don't know what happened, but I want to know." he leaned closer, staring Nagi in the eyes, unblinking until he was interrupted by a waitress coming to take their order. He looked at Nagi briefly. "What do you want? I'll take just a water, please."
"And you weren't supposed to awkwardly play mariokart with your feet. These things happen," she said brightly, shrugging.
Ian didn’t have a good retort for that, which annoyed him. It had been a while since he was at a loss for words. “How long do you think its been since all of the computers finished?”
Cassie shrugged. "Open your eyes," she suggested, opening her own to laugh. 11th place, her failure only lesser than Ian's.
Ian opened his eyes to see he had lost. “Well there’s a shocker,” he muttered with a chuckle. “That went well.”
"I'll just have water as well." Nagi was thrown off by what he said. Some of it was true, she never really did care about rumors, but Nagi always tried to forgive people. "You make it sound like you did something to me that I haven't forgiven." She also leaned in close. "Have we ever talked before?" By this time she gave up trying to put on the act as if she knew everything that was going on. "And even if I did tell you, you wouldn't believe me."
Cassie nodded. "Okay, I forgot how much I hate this game. Let's do something else."
