"You've got a brother-in-law too!"
"You've got a brother-in-law too!"
"Right!" Anah exclaimed. "Oh, God, I do!"
"I don't believe you've really met Liam, even in the span of the week that you've been here."
"I have to congratulate him, then make sure he treats you right, yeah?" she teased.
"He's been treating me right for the last 5 years, I think he can manage another 70."
"Five years?" Anah asked, trying to mask the fullness of her shock. She knew Elina had been with Liam for a while, but not that long. She'd never said the amount of time they'd been together.
"Well, we were friends first. Since childhood. But…we started to like each other at 14."
Anah blinked and nodded. "Right, yes. Well where is he?"
Elina looked around. She spotted him with his sister.
Anah followed her gaze. "Shall we go over and say hi? No wait, say hello. Very formal, yes?"
"Don't be too formal, you'll scare him. He isn't royalty, remember."
"Oh, wait. Uh, yes he is, Madame Queen." Anah poked her.
"He never used to be. Only now is he royalty - a king - because we got married."
"Exactly," Anah teased. "I'll try to be not awkward – my social skills still need some work."
Elina laughed as she took Anah over to Liam, hugging his sister as her own introduced herself.
"Hi, Liam," Anah greeted cordially.
"Princess Anah! So lovely to meet you. Elina has told me so much about you." Liam bowed.
Anah smiled. "And she has told me much about you as well," she replied, sinking into a shallow curtsey.
"No need to curtsey, Anah. You are more Royal than me."
Anah smiled teasingly. "Yes, Your Majesty." She winked for good measure.
"I might be King by marriage, but not by blood. Please, don't be so formal with me."
"Okay," she replied. "Liam, you'll be a great King."
"Thank you. That means a lot to me."
She nodded. "You're welcome,"
"Oh, uh, this is my sister Faybeline."
