Simon stayed by Razielle’s side until morning, drifting in and out of sleep. He carefully stretched his wing over Razielle.
Raz snuggled up in the warmth as he slowly awoke, not really registering anything around him for a few moments. All he knew was that he was warm and extremely comfortable. He slowly blinked awake, seeing thay they were still on the couch.
“Good morning,” Simon said, his voice scratchy. “You seem to have slept well.”
Raz nodded slightly with a hum, still trying to fully wake up. "Yup, what about you?" He asked softly, shifting up off of Simon's shoulder. He lightly brushed a hand along the wing around his shoulder and appreciatively nuzzled into it's warmth.
“Alright, I guess. Better than usual,” he said, shifting to accommodate Raz.
He breathed a laugh. "And here I thought you said the couch wasn't a good place to sleep." He teased lightly, stretching out his back and wings before relaxing and toying with Spook's tail.
“That wasn’t why I slept well and you know it,” Simon said, tipping his head.
Spook curled her tail around Razielle’s wrist and licked his hand.
Raz glanced away with a light blush, and focused on Spooks, laughing lightly as she licked his hand. "Well, regardless, we both deserved a good night's rest."
“Sure,” Simon said, reaching out to pet Spooks.
Raz hummed softly and looked over at the clock "we should probably start breakfast, these two are probably hungry." He sat, passing spooks to Simon and slowly detanglong himself from Simon's with and the multiple blankets. "Want anything specific?"
“I don’t know why you bother. I’m not hungry.” Simon had half a mind to drag Razielle back, the spot next to him cold and hollow now.
"who knows, maybe one day you'll wake up hungry. how rude of me it would be to let you suffer without food, all because I assumed you didn't want to eat that specific day." He replied sarcastically, finding some pans and bowls in the cabinets.
“Ugh. I hate you sometimes. Why are you so insistent all the time? ‘Simon, you need to eat!’ ‘Simon, come cuddle me!’ ‘Simon, come to bed with me!’”
Raz lost his smile all together and slowly set a pot on the counter, ignoring the flush that rose to his cheeks. "I'm insistent on eating because in all the weeks we've been here, I've only ever seen you eat a few meals here and there which leaves me to assume that you barely eat at all when alone." He narrowed his eyes, "or am I wrong? As for the cuddling and sleeping, you didn't have to agree last night, believe me, it was awkward for me too but I didn't mind. I thought you didn't mind it either until now." He ruffled his wings and walked to where he had set his duffle bag of clothes, scooping it up. "If you really were bothered with it, you could have just told me to go." He shrugged, trying hard to hide how much it bothered him to suddenly feel like burden. He gripped the door hand and rugged it open, careful not to let the cats slip out before making his way out of the apartment
Simon frowned and got up, going to the door and unwrinkling his skirt. “Raz?” he said. “I don’t want you to leave. I. . . was- I’m just not used to having someone. . . be, like, so. . . concerned, I guess.” He shifted slightly. “I don’t want you to leave. I would feel better if you stayed.”
Raz stopped halfway down the corridor and slowly turned. He watched Simon for a few moments, waiting for the snarky remark or the yelling, anything to prompt him to continue walking on instead of face the fact that he did genuinely care and like Simon, more than he was willing to admit even now. He breathed a soft sigh. "I'm not the only one who's insistent, huh?" He joked half heartedly, walking back to Simon's door. "I'll try not to bug you about the eating, but please try. No promises on the cuddling and sleeping together though." He said, nudging past Simon and setting his stuff back down to resume makeing breakfast
Simon let out a sigh and sat at the table, folding his hands. “I just don’t want you to think I’m rude and sarcastic to you because I don’t like you. Of course I like you. I’m trying to protect myself. So. Sorry.”
"do you're rude and sarcastic because you like me?" Raz laughed softly and shook his head as he gathered the ingredients he needed to make pancakes. "Don't be sorry Simon, half of it is on me too. I get it. Kind of. I'm not trying to be so invasive and parent you. I know that's not what you need. I'll try and tone it down a bit." He he offered a small smile and started mixing the batter for the pancakes.
“Oh, alright.” Simon watched Razielle uncomfortably, like he wanted to say something else, but was too nervous. “It’s very frustrating to me that you just keep forgiving me for being a douche.”
"my hope is the more I keep doing that, the less of a douche you'll be." He added a bit of fruit to the mixture and turned the stove on, setting the skillet and pot on the burners. "It seems to have simwhat worked."
“What can I say? You bring out the best in me,” Simon retorted sarcastically. He crossed his arms, glaring at Razielle.
"aw how sweet, here I thought your cats were the ones to do that." He replied, a smirk on his features. "Speaking of cats," he filled two bowls with food and set them down on the ground along with some water
“Thanks,” Simon said with a slight smile. “You know, I do think you make me happier.”
Raz glanced up, ready to reply with more sarcasm but he just ended up opening and closing his mouth with nothing coming out. "Well, then i'm glad I can do that," he muttered with a a small smile, flipping the pancakes over.
“So am I,” Simon said, getting up. “I’m going to take a shower. Don’t spy on me.” He got new clothes from his bedroom and went to the bathroom, running cool water.
