(of course! Fair warning this barely based off hazbin by now, it's just a demon x human ship with very minor details from the show😅 but feel free to stalk!)

Alexander's brow furrowed in concern when he didn't receive a response. He deftly hung his bag on the coat hanger and set the food on the table. Peeking into his lab, he hoped to find Faybian immersed in some task at the computer, but the room was empty. He checked the bathroom next, but it yielded no sign of his partner. With a sigh of puzzlement, he made his way to the bedroom. As he entered, his confusion melted into a soft smile. There was Faybian, fast asleep and cradling a pillow in his arms. Alexander couldn't suppress a gentle chuckle at the sight of his peacefully slumbering partner. It was a rare treat to witness Faybian in such a tranquil state, as he usually drifted off to sleep before Alexander had the chance to observe him. Taking a seat on the edge of the bed, Alexander brushed his hair away from his face with a sigh. "Looks like you were exhausted, huh?" he murmured. "I'll need to put the food away and take a shower, but I'll be right back." Standing up, he began to undress, methodically removing his pants and jewelry before stowing them away. He let out a relieved sigh as he loosened his ponytail, feeling the tension in his scalp ease. Leaving only his button-down shirt on, he returned to the kitchen to stow the food away, the tantalizing aroma of chicken and fries filling the air. However, the thought of eating alone didn't appeal to him. With a determined stride, he retraced his steps back to the bedroom. Gently approaching Faybian's side, he reached out and lightly poked his face, attempting to rouse him from his slumber. "Hey," he murmured. I'm starving. Do you think you can wake up so we can eat together?"

@Festive_Fenrir

(idea for plot - what if Faybian goes back to college, some short-term exchange student or something to get back into human life and spend more time with Alexander, possibly meet his friends…? He died young enough to pass as a student more or less :3)
It had been so long since Faybian had slept without the background noise of low humming radio waves. Over the years they had gotten progressively louder the more deals he made but that mattered little with the power that came along with a bit of discomfort. He had gotten so used to the radio waves that they had become white noise to him save for when his emotions flared. He thought that falling asleep would be difficult but in reality, it had come to him so easily. He clutched at the pillow but was slowly coming to his senses as he felt the bed shift and then a gentle hand at his brow. Then Faybian was left alone to hug the pillow instead of his fiance. That wasn't something he necessarily liked especially after his little trip to Hell. He wanted the comfort of knowing Alexander was safe, of hearing of his day even if it was similar to every other day. He loves seeing Alexander get excited about his labs, even if he ends up doing them alone most days. It reminded him of his lifetime however short that may have been and his own passion for science. He felt a light poking on his cheek and he turned in bed, a small smile on his features as he was met with a partially dressed Alexander, speaking the most heavenly words Faybian had ever heard, the promise of food. He caught Alexander's hand and brought it to his lips, pressing a kiss to his fingertips. "Hello to you too, doll." He murmured, pushing himself up and stretching, taking the moment to gaze at Alexander, appreciatively taking in his slightly disheveled, but relaxed look. "Yes, my dear. We can go eat." He urged with a laugh "I'm sorry for keeping you waiting, I didn't know the meeting with Luce would take so long." He apologized, a sharp shiver racing down his spine at the reminder of the meeting, of his deal to the King of Hell. He touched his neck for a brief moment before shaking off the thought. He was here with Alexander, that's all that matters now. He'd deal with Luce later. "So how was class today?" He asked, standing and guiding them both to the kitchen where he inspected the food Alexander had brought home. It wasn't food Faybian made but it was one of his favorites when they were out so he happily grabbed two plates and a few utensils to start eating, having bit realized how hungry he was.

@rui group

(OOOOO yes I like that idea :3333333)

"Don't worry about it. I'm just glad you're back here with me safe and sound," Alexander reassured Faybian, his touch gentle against his cheek before returning to the table. "It was good. I made some new friends, which actually makes me want to go to class more often. They're very friendly, a bit more extroverted than I am, but that doesn't mean I don't want to be friends with them. It's just something I have to get used to. They asked about you, and when I went to pull up a photo of us, I realized I didn't have any. It was a bit embarrassing, but it's nothing I can't fix," he explained, his smile brightening the room. "In fact, I walked home with Emily today because she also doesn't live on campus. She even showed me the chicken place I ordered from today. She's really sweet," Alexander continued as he sat down, setting up the plate and utensils before opening the bag of food. The aroma filled the air, making his stomach growl with hunger. He carefully divided the food onto their plates, explaining each item as he did so. "Okay, so the one on the right is spicy, and the one on the left is sort of sweet. Then the fries are seasoned a bit. I tried some on the way home, and it's good seasoning," he pointed out before serving himself some chicken. "So, how did it go down there? What did he say?" he inquired, eager to hear about Faybian's day.

@Festive_Fenrir

Faybian tilted his head into Alexander's hand, "That's wonderful, my dear. I'm glad you're finally getting out of your comfort zone. I was starting to worry your only company would be me." He teased lightly, genuinely glad that Alexander was starting to get to know other students and not just his demon fiance. "It'll take time getting used but I'm sure you'll be just fine. You're an amazing person aside from my own bias. I'm glad more people than just me are starting to finally figure that out." He chuckled softly, "We'll take as many photos as you'd like." he reassured, pulling out the to-go containers of chicken and taking a piece of each as well as a few of the fries to try. "She sounds lovely, and her taste in food seems good so far. I'd love to meet her." He replied. Now that he was going to be on Earth with Alexander for the foreseeable future, he figured it would be a good idea to get to know other people. The people Alexander got along with seemed like a good place to start. He settled at the dining table, pressing a kiss to Alexander's cheek in thanks and starting to eat. His gaze momentarily flicked up before he focused on the food. "It was alright. I'm not entirely convinced Luce is supportive of a human and a demon being together but we figured a few things out and he seems satisfied for now." He explained, trying his best to stay away from the deal he had made. He didn't need Alexander worrying about what would happen in their afterlife. Alexander would go to heaven and Faybian would remain in Hell as it was supposed to be. "It's alright, my dear. I'm not going anywhere." He promised. For this life, he'd stay by Alexander's side.

@rui group

Alexander beamed and continued to eat the chicken, periodically coughing from the spice. "That's good, and I don't know what I would do without you," he admitted sincerely, his affection for Faybian evident in his eyes. As he ate, thoughts about his college attendance lingered in his mind, prompting a slight frown. He knew that his time with Faybian might be limited if he went to physical classes more often. "Hey, so since you're going to live up here and whatnot, what's your plan? Are you going to be waiting for me to get home every day? That would be nice," he teased, gathering a few more pieces of chicken after finishing his first serving. "I'm joking. I wouldn't mind either way. I just don't want you feeling left out, and always being here at the apartment might feel suffocating. I just don't want you to feel like that," he expressed, genuine concern evident in his tone. He pondered for a moment before a thought occurred to him. "I could always get a bigger apartment too. That way, there would be more space for the both of us, and you'd have a nicer kitchen to work in. Plus, you could see something other than the depressing streets of New York City," he suggested, feeling a bit embarrassed at how domestic their conversation had become. "Oh yeah, we also need to plan our wedding, don't we, since it's official and everything," he added with a slight blush, feeling a rush of excitement at the thought.

@Festive_Fenrir

Faybian couldn't quite look Alexander in the eyes as he nodded slightly, preoccupying himself with dinner rather than the pang of guilt in his heart. "I wouldn't either, my dear." He replied softly, offering a small smile even as his mind raced with the possibility of being alone after a life together. Could he go back to hell and pretend as if nothing happened, as if Alexander's life meant next to nothing in his eternal afterlife? That's what the old Faybian would do. He'd move on with no remorse. With little thought to a measly human. Alexander would have been nothing but a form of entertainment for Faybian. The human would go to heaven because of course an innocent human being tormented by a demon and strayed away from the path of good deserved to get redeemed. It would all play out the same either way except now, Faybian actually cared. More than that he loved Alexander. Faybian Leander, Overlord of the pride ring, disgraced fallen angel, loved a human. He was willing to make a deal with Lucifer of all people to guarantee the one he loved got to heaven. And even if Lucifer wasn't the one in charge of making that judgment it was better than nothing. It was better than Alexander ending down in hell with Faybian. Faybian snapped out of his tormented thought to catch Alexander's conversation, trying his best to make it look like he was listening to the entire time. He chewed through his food slowly, perking up slightly at the mention of a larger kitchen. Alexander always knew what to say to make Faybian smile, even if it was a faint one for now. "I was actually going to ask if it was okay to enroll at your school, perhaps as a professor or even as a student. If I'm going to be staying here for the time being, I thought it'd be a good idea to get back into my love for science." He reasoned, "and it gives us a chance to see each other more often." He added with a grin. He loved the idea of seeing Alexander in the halls or across campus, stealing a few kisses from him before running off to class. "Though I worry if I were a professor the rumor of you sleeping with a teacher would go around quickly." He winked and stood to grab more food. "I'm more than alright here, my love but I do appreciate your concern. Perhaps we can look for a place for ourselves later on after you graduate or the wedding." He suggested, pressing a kiss to Alexander's head in reassurance. "It's not as bad as Hell actually. In a way, it's a bit nostalgic." He shrugged and settled back down. "We do indeed. However I do have to ask, how mad would you be if I preplan our honeymoon? I may have a few placed in mind already."

@rui group

(Sorry I haven't been very responsive this past week; I've been on break, so I'm on vacation. When Monday hits, I'll probably go back to responding daily :3)

Alexander's eyes widened with surprise at Faybian's announcement. "That's fantastic, Faybian! Becoming a teacher could work in your favor financially. So, I'd suggest aiming for that first. But if not, I wouldn't mind accompanying you to class. The college admissions process can be lengthy, but you have what it takes to show them you're worth it. If you do decide to apply to my college and you need help just come to me. I really don't mind helping you. I am getting my doctorate, so I know what this school wants to see. This means I can finally help you with something. This is going to be so exciting!" Leaning closer across the table, he affectionately tousled Faybian's hair before finishing off the last piece of chicken. Moving to the sink, Alexander deposited his dishes, his mind already buzzing with thoughts of Faybian's future. "You know, there are plenty of rumors floating around about students dating teachers at our college, but none of them have ever been proven true. Whatever path you choose, I'll be supporting you every step of the way." He leaned back against the table with a warm smile, occasionally snagging a fry as he watched Faybian eat. "Tomorrow, we absolutely must visit that cafe again. Everything looked so tantalizing yesterday, but it wasn't the same without you. Don't worry; I've already picked out a few items I think you'll love."

@Festive_Fenrir

(No worries at all! hope you're enjoying your vacation! I'm starting finals soon so I also may be a little sporadic with responses until the end of the month.)

Faybian couldn't help but feel an immense sense of relief, knowing he had Alexander's approval and support. Even with everything about Luce and their afterlife spinning in his head, it was nice to know that in this decision, he had Alexander's support. "Thank you, dear. That means a lot to me, knowing I have you by my side in all of this. I probably will need your help every step of the way whether I choose professor or student. I'm not all that familiar with how colleges work in this century." He admitted sheepishly, chuckling lightly as Alexander ruffled his hair. He ran a hand through it to get it out of his face but otherwise didn't really try and do much to fix it. He shrugged as he finished off his own dinner, leaving the rest of the fries for Alexander to enjoy while he started on the dishes. "I suppose that's true for all institutes, though ours wouldn't be a rumor, would it." He pressed a kiss to Alexander's cheek "We do, especially after I had promised you I'd meet you after the meeting. I owe you one. I could pick you up after class and we could head straight there from campus if you'd like, unless you'd rather drop your stuff off here first." He offered, glancing over his shoulder with a grin. "Have you now dear? If you're the one who made the choice then I'm guaranteed to love it."

@rui group

(I am also doing my finals soon so I'll probably be dipping in and out at dys at a time until the second half of May)
Alexander nodded. "Yeah, you can pick me up from class. I'm sure my friends would want to meet you anyway." He crossed his arms over his chest. "Honestly, getting into college is easier yet harder at the same time. Before they would only look at your grades and who you are academically, but now they more look at your financial situation and what you've been through. Obviously, you still need to have good grades, but even is you have a B+ average you could still get into a really good school if your SAT scores are high enough and what you've been doing throughout high school looks good. They also judge you based on your race. It's a whole ordeal. Enough college talk for today. I'm tired and all I want to do is lay down with you." He leaned down and with a swift movement placed his hand on Fayian's cheek. Alexander pressed a sweet kiss against Faybian's forehead. His eyes softened as he opened them. "I love you."

@Festive_Fenrir

(Good luck with the finals!)

"As would I, dear. They seem like great people from what you've told me." He agreed, falling into a rhythm of doing dishes as Alexander explained the trials and tribulations that were in the 21st-century education system. "It seems all a bit pretentious if not very biased," Faybian muttered, rinsing and drying his hands before he started putting the dishes away. Faybian wasn't entirely sure how much time he had to get affairs in order in Hell before he was kicked out for a lifetime but he was sure he could pull some strings with a few minor lords for edited files. He did have his paperwork from when he had been alive but he was sure transcripts and diplomas from when he was alive wouldn't line up with the current time's requirements and would raise more questions than he was willing to answer. He leaned his head into Alexander's hand, breaking out of his thoughts of who to ask in hell and how to best avoid questions about his sudden change in status, and closed his eyes briefly at the gentle kiss. "I love you too, angel. Go shower and relax for a bit, I'll join you once I'm done here." He urged gently, a small smile flitting across his features at the thought of finally relaxing with Alexander after a very long day.

@rui group

(You too!)

Alexander nodded to himself and made his way to the bathroom, the sound of running water soon filling the space. Leaning his hands on the sink, he gazed at his reflection in the mirror, a sigh escaping his lips. He couldn't shake the feeling of guilt for uprooting Faybian from hell so suddenly. The weight of the changes they'd experienced over the years hung heavy on his mind, leaving him to wonder if he'd inadvertently deprived Faybian of his connections, his home. Frustration gnawed at him as he undressed, and he found himself leaning heavily against the sink, lost in thought. Were these upheavals still part of the deal he'd struck with Faybian? Alexander chided himself, admonishing his doubts. "Don't think like that, Alexander," he muttered, trying to push aside the nagging uncertainties. Then, a sudden realization struck him, prompting him to throw open the bathroom door and poke his head out towards the kitchen, where Faybian was likely still lingering. "Hey, um… do you maybe want to meet my parents?" he blurted out, his words tumbling forth in a rush. "I know it's probably not the same for you as it was back then, but it's sort of traditional for someone's partner to meet their parents if they're thinking about getting married. I mean, I know my parents aren't the greatest, but I'd still like you to meet them if you're okay with it?" His voice carried a mix of eagerness and apprehension, unsure of how Faybian would react to the proposal.

@Festive_Fenrir

Faybian shook his head fondly as he returned to cleaning the rest of the dishes and drying the ones that had been set aside to dry, losing himself in thought. He would gladly give up heaven and hell a million times over if it meant he had a chance with Alexander, who of the sinners wouldn't take that sweet chance? Faybian knew plenty more who would kill for a chance to live again. It had Faybian apprehensive as to what threat his situation put himself, and more importantly, put Alexander in if his little deal with Lucifer got out to the wrong people. His disappearance would surely turn some heads. And then he had heaven to think about. They wouldn't turn a blind eye to a fallen angel returning to Earth only to find out he was marrying a human. Their pride would be hurt at the very least, at the worst, they'd hurt Alexander to get Faybian to relinquish his bond, contractual or otherwise. His hidden wings itched at the mere thought of Alexander getting hurt by either side. No matter what hell-given power Lucifer stripped from him and what he chose to appear as Faybian was still a fallen angel through and through and no one was going to lay a finger on Alexander. It was these mental spirals where Faybian was glad he didn't have the same powers now, otherwise they'd be down a significant amount of plates in the apartment. He set the plate he was drying in the cabinet and let himself relax in the rare moment of silence in the house. Now he did love hearing his fiance's voice, but he couldn't think of the last time he had had a moment of silence, without the whir of radio waves in his mind. It was tranquil.
His eyes snapped open as his attention was drawn back to Alexander, rather abruptly. He tilted his head curiously half distracted by Alexander and half by the idea of meeting his parents. He wasn't entirely sure why it had taken him this long to realize that Alexander obviously had family close to him. "I would love to, dear." He replied, leaning against the counter. "I'm touched you're considering the ways I used to do things back when I was alive. It would be an honor to meet the people responsible for the person I've come to love so deeply." He stepped forward and pressed a kiss to Alexander's brow. "was this something you had to tell me right before you were going to shower though, my love? not that I'm not loving seeing you like this, but it could have waited a few minutes until you were dressed." he teased, his hand lightly ghosting over Alexander's bare skin. "Unless this is your way of telling me you want company?"

@rui group

His cheeks flushed a deeper shade as Faybian agreed, sending a tingling sensation up his spine. "Ha…" Alexander's voice quivered slightly, his nerves betraying him. "U-Uh, well, I just had the thought, and I acted out of impulse," he stammered, hastily closing the door to conceal his exposed form. "I-I wasn't necessarily saying that I want company or anything. Although we are engaged, so I wouldn't mind. But you also showered, so you should head off to bed." His words tumbled out in a rush, his face burning with embarrassment as he leaned against the door, placing a hand over his racing heart to calm himself. "However, if you want to, the door is unlocked.." he added hastily through the door before retreating into the shower and closing the curtain. Despite the warm water cascading over his body, Alexander felt a rush of heat flood his cheeks. "Why did I just run out like that?" he muttered, covering his face with his hand and splashing the hot water onto his flushed skin to regain his composure. "Just how much did he see?" The thought sent a shiver of embarrassment down his spine as he reached for the soap, trying to focus on his shower routine to distract himself from the awkward encounter. "ARGH!" he exclaimed in frustration, his cheeks burning with embarrassment. "Man, I wanted that to be special too.."

@Festive_Fenrir

"I see that, doll." Faybian purred, tempted to continue his teasing like this morning but soon found a door between him and his fiance. "You're sending mixed signals, sweetheart." He cooed, leaning against the door for a moment, debating on whether he should enter and have Alexander right then and there like he's been wanting for months now or prolong their wait. His hand wavered over the door handle, a small smile spreading over his features at hearing Alexander struggle. What would stop them now from being together? It wasn't like Faybian had the excuse of being tied to hell anymore. He wasn't a demon by hell's standards nor ever an angel by heaven's. He was himself for all intent and purpose and he was Alexander's. He chewed his lip and shook his head with a short laugh before he took a step back. "You deserve more than shwoer sex, my love. All I ask is a bit of patience until we can get a bed deserving of our love. Until then, please don't punch the wall again." He willed himself to walk to their bedroom and change, focusing on anything more than his desperate desire for Alexander for now until he could have him in his arms. Choosing one of Alexander's shirts and a pair of comfy shorts, Faybian crawled into bed and read a bit while he read as he awaited Alexander.

@rui group

Alexander emerged from the shower, the steam from the hot water still lingering in the air around him. Clad in his usual oversized shirt and boxers, he moved relaxedly, his tousled hair damp from the shower. Usually, he preferred to sleep shirtless, but with Faybian sharing the bed, he opted for a more modest attire. "Hey… did you say something earlier when I was in the shower?" he inquired, his voice carrying a hint of curiosity as he entered the room, towel draped over his head. With practiced motions, he gently towel-dried his hair, the soft fabric absorbing the moisture as he settled onto the edge of the bed. The room was filled with a comfortable silence, broken only by the sound of Alexander's movements and the faint hum of the air conditioner. As Alexander continued towel-drying his hair, his gaze drifted idly around the room, taking in their shared space's familiar sights and sounds. There was a sense of peace and contentment in the air, a quiet reassurance that everything was as it should be. He gently pulled Faybian's book down from his view. With a final pat to his hair, Alexander tossed the towel aside and leaned back against the pillows, his gaze lingering on Faybian's sleeping form. "I could've sworn I heard you mumbling earlier," he repeated, his voice soft and laced with curiosity. "Was there something on your mind?

@Festive_Fenrir

Faybian hadn't realized how late they had stayed up until he was slowly nodding off, the book falling to his chest as his breathing evened out into a relaxed rhythm. The familiar smell of his fiance's body wash and shampoo eventually pulled him out of the light sleep he had fallen into. A small smile tugged at his lips as Alexander pulled the book away and curled up beside him. Faybian shifted around a bit, covering them both in a blanket and holding Alexander close, his nose buried in Alexander's hair. "It was nothing, my dear. Merely something I'm sure would have gotten you more flustered if possible." He murmured, a teasing smirk on his features. "I just asked that you not punch the wall again in your haze of embarrassment. The rest were my own little fantasies of us. Nothing to worry about for now." He promised, kissing Alexander's nose and gently running his fingers through his clean hair to get out any tangles. "About before, aside from the teasing I would actually love to meet your parents. I promise I'll be a good little demon." He winked and briefly caressed Alexander's cheek. "I only wish you could have met mine. At least my father. You two would have gotten along well I think. He wasn't much into chemistry but he had such a love for biology." He recalled fondly. "He had all these different taxedermies of animals we'd find in the woods, told me it was like giving new life one unfortunately passed. And pinned insects on every wall imagineable. He had an odd fascination with praying mantises. My favorite ones were the ones that could blend into flowers to catch prey." It had been a long while since Faybian talked about his living life, even longer still about his father but it felt nice, if not a bit sad sharing a piece of himself with Akexander, knowing he could never see his dad again and had given up any chance he had at heaven just for petty revenge.

@rui group

Alexander nodded along, but there was a flicker of confusion in his eyes. Then, as the realization dawned on him, his expression softened. "I guess you were separated when you were chosen to go to Hell. So, that means I wouldn't be able to visit him either. I understand. He sounds like a great guy. I didn't know you had a favorite insect. God, I feel like I don't know anything about you, and we're about to get married." He laughed, the sound light and easy, as he slid his hand up to Faybian's cheek. "It's a little silly, don't you think?" Alexander gazed into Faybian's eyes, his thumb gently brushing over his lips before he leaned in to kiss them. The kiss was tender, lasting for a few moments before he settled back into his position, a contented smile playing on his lips. "However, you seem tired. Let's go to bed. I came home later than I thought."The room was quiet, the only sounds being their soft breaths and the faint hum of the city outside. The warmth of their shared space enveloped them, creating a cocoon of intimacy. He looked at Faybian, his eyes filled with love and a hint of concern. "I know there's still so much to learn about each other, but we have time. And I promise, I'll be here, learning and loving every part of you."

@Festive_Fenrir

"In a way I suppose. I died earlier than him so he still had a good long life before he went to heaven. It was one grace I was allowed being a fallen angel. I could still watch over the ones I loved." He explained, pressing into Alexander's hand and kissing his palm in appreciation. "Just a bit," he agreed softly as his thoughts were preoccupied by their closeness rather than the conversation. "What would you like to know, my dear?" He asked against Alexander's lips, gathering him close and trailing a delicate hand along his spine. "You were having a good time, dear. You don't need to worry about coming home at a certain time just because I'm here. I would have loved to join you and your new friends if only the meeting wasn't so long." He reassured, pressing his lips to Alexander's brow and tucking him under his chin, letting the silence of their night settle around them.
Faybian tipped his head slightly when Alexander looked up at him, wishing he could erase the concern flashing across his fiance's face. It's not like that concern wasn't warrented though. Faybian couldn't guarentee an eternity with Alexander, not if he was going to keep up his bargain with Luce. "We do, and we will."

@rui group

He chuckled softly, his voice a tender murmur in the quiet room. "I'll ask you my questions tomorrow. It's pretty late, isn't it?" Rising slowly from Faybian's arms. He placed his hands gently on either side of Faybian's face, his fingers tracing delicate patterns on his skin as he looked down into his eyes. almost as if he was searching for something in them. "What do you mean I don't have to worry? Of course, I do," he whispered, his breath warm against Faybian's cheek. "I know how lonely it feels to be by yourself, and the thought of you sitting around all day, probably bored out of your mind, just breaks my heart." He brushed a stray lock of hair away from Faybian's forehead, his touch lingering with a tenderness that spoke volumes. "I want you to have as much joy and excitement as I do." He leaned in closer, their foreheads touching, the intimate gesture deepening their connection. "I wish I could stay home tomorrow, but I have an exam. After that, though, I'm all yours." His voice was a soft promise, filled with love and dedication. He pressed a gentle kiss to Faybian's forehead, then his nose, and finally his lips, savoring the closeness.
