Nikki pops her head out of her bedroom and her eyes land on Jo and she's annoyed at this point "are you fucking kidding me? What did you do?? "

"Um. . . I got into a fight with a jackass who nearly hit me while I was walking." Jo shrugs, setting down the pizza.

Nikki rolled her eyes and headed into the bathroom to get a first aid kit and came back into the living room "sit down. "

Jo huffs and sits.

"He had it coming to him, you know."

Nikki sat down with him and started to clean the blood off of him and address his wounds

"i don't care what he did stop doing dumb shit."

"He nearly killed me! He had it coming!" Jo replies gruffly.

"I don't care your only drawing attention to yourself just ignore people you shouldn't just be walking in the open where people can see you. '

"Oh, it's not like there's "WANTED" posters everywhere." Jo grins arrogantly.

"But people CAN and WILL RECOGNIZE YOU. "

Jo snorts.

"I can justs shoot them, you know, that way they can't recognize me anymore."

"Jo- dear Lord are you insane? "

"Quite possibly, yes." Jo laughs.

She rolled her eyes and finished cleaning the wound "there just.. Please be more careful.. Okay? "

"Sure, sure, I'll say that to the next guy before I pop a round in their stupid mouth for telling me to 'be more careful,' when I was just trying to get pizza." Jo huffs, standing up and stretching.

Nikki sank back in the couch and folded her arms before looking at the floor

Jo looks back at Nikki and sighs.

"Oh c'mon, sweetheart, they were in a car speeding through the intersection. What was I supposed to do? Let that shit slide?"

"Whatever jo just forget I said anything.. "

Jo sighs and looks Nikki straight in the eyes.

"Nikki, I swear to god, stop that. It's not fucking healthy."

"Stop what exactly? Stop fucking caring
? because I thought that's what you wanted me to do! "

"No, stop saying things like 'whatever, Jo, just forget I said anything,' because I fucking can't! I literally can't fucking forget, okay? But if you want to stop caring, you can! Go right on ahead, princess, see if I fucking care!" Jo growls, suppressing tears. Something he'd never had to deal with before this week.

"I don't want to stop caring! " she screamed a few tears running down her face as she turned around and started back to her room

"Then don't!" Jo screams back, their voice breaking.

"Don't stop caring then." they whisper, standing up but promptly falling to their knees, tears silently streaming down their face.

Nikki turns to face him again before looking at the floor "I never planned on it.. " she said quietly

Jo looks up at Nikki, wordlessly.

After a while, they say, "You might not want to hear it. . . and know that I mean it. . . but I have to say it one last time."

They take a breath, and wipe off their face. "Nicole. I love you."

Nikki walks over to join and kneels in front of him and cups his face with her hands and she kisses him I was was a passionate yet gentle kiss and pulled away slowly "you are a pain in the ass and you've been nothing but that for years, but…. I love you"
