"You could be a horrible dad and be ignorant and neglectful. Also most people have a kid by the time they are 18. Most royalty anyways."
"You could be a horrible dad and be ignorant and neglectful. Also most people have a kid by the time they are 18. Most royalty anyways."
Marius sighed softly. I know, but still… I don't want kids. I'd be a terrible father and I can't see Marianne being a particularly good mother, to be honest.
"Hey hey hey. Relax. Get lost in my hands for a bit okay? For now you aren't a prince or a king. You're you. I am not a page I am me." He sighed and kissed him all over his cheeks. "You are cared about. With…with me. Rest assured."
Marius whimpered quietly, wrapping his legs around Evan's waist to pull himself closer. But I can't do that. I can't forget about my responsibilities, Evan. In only a week or so, I'll be married to some random queen I don't even care about, and I'll be expected to produce an heir and to be a good king and stuff… I just… He groaned in frustration and buried his face in Evan's chest again.
"Yes but that's in a week. Don't go worrying yet. I promise good sir. I will be here by your side. Besides if you don't want the child unload it on Queen Crystal. She'd just adopt it basically, and take care of it as her own. It's what she has done for a lot of us. Marianna will neglect it probably. But nonetheless. I'll be here for you." He sighed. "Prince, may I admit something to you?"
Marius looked up at Evan curiously, his form lightly trembling. What is it? He asked, shifting around a bit. Honestly, he was still stressed and conflicted. Not having to take care of the child himself would be preferable, obviously, but Queen Crystal didn't live in the castle with them and he wasn't sure if they'd be allowed to send the child away to her or not.
"I…I do believe that I experience the…the symptoms of being in love. When I am around you. At least they are starting. My heart if you can feel it is thudding and sometimes my words are hard to come when around you. You do not have to feel the same. But. I believe honesty is the best policy, and it is out of the best respect for you of course. I will do nothing but be kind towards you, and treat you the same but a bit more reserved as to overstep your personal boundaries." He said this while looking away from Marius.
Marius flushed as he listened to Evan talk, his own heart feeling like it was going to thump out of his chest. I… um… I believe I'm experiencing the same, but I don't really know for sure… like I said, I.. I've never really loved anyone before, so I don't exactly know what I'm doing… He sighed shakily and looked away as well.
"Marius? May I kiss your lips? Or. Is that too far?" He asked gently, looking down at the small man in his lap. He felt afraid and at peace with Marius in his lap, and he really was handsome. A bit angry but he could understand WHY, and his sister definitely was not helping the situation. "I know the mask is sensitive so, even if you never kiss me. Or never even want me around that's okay. I'll still care for you." (When they do kiss, I am going to let you describe what the sort of magical spell break looks like. )
(Alrighty lol)
Um… I… I-I'm not sure I'm comfortable with that just yet… Marius replied weakly, tugging his collar up to hide his face a bit as he looked away. It's no fault of yours, I assure you, I just… I've never showed anybody before and I really don't think I'm ready for that…
"That's okay. It's why I asked. And do know, I will ask again. Another question. Would you like to go on a picnic with me tomorrow evening? We could watch the sunset, and enjoy a good glass of wine. I'd love to continue to get to know you." He nuzzled into Marius, a happy glow too his face even if his kiss request had been denied. "Actually. So I don't annoy you with my kisses. When you are ready, if you ever are, ask me. I will of course be more then happy to comply."
Marius glanced up at Evan at the offer, still obviously a bit frazzled. Oh! Um… yeah, sure. That's fine, I… I can't really enjoy the taste of wine or anything, but I can technically get drunk, so… He huddled closer to Evan with a shaky sigh, keeping his collar up for now.
"Right I apologize. I forgot. Then, I'll let you choose the drinks. Would you like to fall asleep in my arms again rosy cheeks, or retire to your room? Or. Would you rather fall asleep in each others arms in my room, for if it was in your room it would be suspicious I think." He nodded, unfurling from around Marius a bit. "We could sleep up here but honestly it made my back hurt a bit when I woke up the next morning. I'd prefer a bed."
No, no… I don't mind doing wine. I won't be able to taste anything we pick, so it honestly doesn't matter. Marius shrugged a bit as he rested his head on Evan's shoulder, flushing harder at the nickname and the suggestions. Your room, probably… maybe we can lock the door so your sister doesn't barge in.
"Would you mind helping me gather our items then?" He asked as he scooter Marius off, and then wrapped him up in the one blanket, before putting some things in his bag. Both of the unfinished apples, and he relit the lantern, looking back at Marius a bit.
Marius reluctantly got up and started gathering the things that Evan hadn't gotten. He wrapped the blanket more tightly around his shoulders and, once he was finished gathering everything, held his arms up to Evan to be carried.
Evan smiled and picked him up. "Am I going to be spending my whole week carrying you handsome? Not that I mind or anything. Just curious."
Mm… I dunno. It's easier for me to get up and down the stairs this way. Marius shrugged a bit and rested his head back on Evan's shoulder.
"Geeze not even gonna get mad at me for basically making a short joke. You really do love me." He chuckled and kisses Marius's nose, and carefully walked down the stairs and into his room. He then set down Marius, and stripped himself down to nothing but his boxers. He was lean but built, with a 4 pack and slight muscle. There were two things to notice. A gay pride flag tattoo edged in gold on his shoulder, and a scar from a cattle branding iron on his side. He sighed and began to remake his bed, moving Marius into a chair. "Oh yes go get some pajamas or what have you Marius. I do hope it doesn't bother you I… I forgot to pack pajamas."
Marius huffed a bit and tugged his hat down over his face again. He flushed red when Evan stripped in front of him, unable to keep himself from taking him in before quickly looking away. R-RIght, um… yeah… I'll go do that… He left the room and headed to his own, where he changed into a simple set of silk pajamas. He kept his mask on, of course, although he didn't often sleep with it when he was alone.
Evan finished setting up the bed, and wrapped himself in one of the blankets to make things less awkward when Marius came back. He then grabbed a book, set the lantern on the side table, and began to read while waiting for Darius to return.
Marius soon returned and crawled into bed with Evan, shifting around to get himself comfortable. He had left his hat in his own room, but kept the mask. He still wasn't comfortable with Evan seeing his mouth.
"If you want to take off the mask I can be big spoon." He said as he put away his book. "I promise not to look. That'd be disrespectful."
Are you sure? Marius still seemed pretty hesitant. You won't be too curious to not try and look? He got ready to shift around.
He nods. "Indeed. I'll get to learn in my own time. I'll even bury my face into the back of your neck so even if I am tempted I won't feed into it." He kissed his cheek.
