“Unless you plan to stay asleep for another day. Besides, we can’t stay long here.” She said gently, truly not wanting to separate Leif from Avalin or Loki but knowing eventually it would have to happen. “You’ll see him soon.” She said with a smile.
Loki glanced down at his son with a small smile Andy kissed husband head gently
Avalin nodded in understanding, pulling a gentle smile onto her face. "Take care of him, please," She said gently, knowing very well that Frigga would take the best care of the young boy. It didn't stop her from wanting more time with her son though. Almost reluctantly, she settled back against Loki, smiling at Frigga and Leif again as she felt the pull of sleep urging her to leave the dream and wake up.
“I wouldn’t think of doing anything less.” She replied softly, cradling the baby in her arms. Frigga took a step back as the room and herself started to fade. She smiled at her son and daughter in law before completely disappearing as they both woke up.
Loki breathed in deeply before fully opening his eyes and slowly taking in his surroundings. He glanced down at Avalin and smiled softly, watching her relaxed and still peacefully asleep beside him. “Such a beautiful creature.” He whispered softly, kissing her brow gently and brushing aside stray hair
She nuzzled against Loki as she left the dream, mumbling something inaudible before doing her very best to hide from the sunrise streaming through the windows. Avalin did wake up a minute later though, blinking sleepily up at Loki and somehow managing a sleepy smile. "Good morning love," She murmured, settling in against him again after taking the slow seconds to press a kiss to his cheek.
“Morning, ready to start a new day or would you rather we stay here for a bit?” He asked, fully knowing he’d rather stay beside his wife in the warm bed then venture back out into the city. He nudged her head gently and glanced up when he saw movement in the corner of the room.
Queenie and spot slowly Cameron out of their hiding spot, both much bigger than last Loki and Avalin has seen them
"I want to stay right here as long as I possibly can," She hummed, glancing up as well when she saw him do so. A happy smile appeared at the sight of their pets, both of which she hadn't seen since she had been assigned to servant duty over a year ago. "Hi there," Avalin cooed lightly, though she didn't quite untangle herself from around Loki yet. She was happy to see them, but it seemed more pressing to make up for not being able to wake up by her husband for so long.
Queenie gave a light mew and curled up next to Loki while Spot curled up against Avalin. Loki laughed softly and nudged the nearest pet’s head. “We missed you too.” He smiled softly and hugged Avalin close, lightly tracing circles against her shoulders.
She smiled when Spot curled up next to her, his tail wagging happily. "What trouble have you two been up to while we've been gone?" Avalin asked, leaning into Loki's touch and glancing at the pets with a happy look, "You troublemakers." She pressed a kiss to his cheek as she pulled herself tightly to him, quite happy to be right where she was, still snuggled in blankets.
Spot picked his head up and tilted his head as if having no idea what Avalin was accusing them of. Queenie meowed and jumped over Spot’s side, curling up between his from paws and resting her head on his paw. Loki smiled and shook his head “same as us love, always getting into trouble, never know how.” He said, hugging her close to his chest and dropping a kiss to her head. He glanced up when he heard a knock at the door.
“Your highnesses, sorry to interior but the King has allowed your request for an audience later today.”
"They learn from the best," She replied with a smile and a light laugh, tipping her head up to give him a kiss as the door opened. Avalin glanced towards the door as it opened, looking between the servant and Loki before nodding. The last thing she wanted to do was talk to Thor, but she wasn't going to bring that up. She just settled her head onto Loki's chest, then reached over and started to pet Queenie, feeling Spot nuzzle her hand as he tried to change the attention to him.
Loki glanced up from Avalin as the servant came into the room. He narrowed his eyes, slightly annoyed that they had been interrupted but not willing to put in the energy to do anything about it. He thanked the servant and dismissed them with a nod of his head. He took a deep breath and glanced down at Avalin and the pets “this should be interesting.” He mused softly, petting Spot’s head then Queenie’s. He knew they weren’t in the best of relationships now, especially after Leif’s passing. Loki only hoped that Thor would at least be a bit compliant towards their situation. If not for his own brother then at least for his deceased nephew
She nodded, slipping her arms back around Loki and closing her eyes. "That can wait until later, right? We still have time here and time to get breakfast?" Avalin glanced up at him, silently hoping that she was right. Either way, she wasn't going to speak more than she had to when talking to Thor. Not unless Loki asked her to. She wanted nothing to do with the King, especially since not only was this the first full day she and Loki were together, but she knew that Magnus was still working as a servant because of him.
He nodded and tucked her safely beneath his chin. “As much time as you wish my love.” He said softly, going back to tracing the curves and dips of her back. “Speaking of which, any plans for breakfast? I’m not sure if the restaurant we went to yesterday serves in the morning but it couldn’t hurt to check, unless you want to have breakfast elsewhere, or even here.” He said, glancing down at her.
Loki wasn’t too keen on talking to Thor either, but it had to be done. At least he knew they wouldn’t be expected back any time soon afterwards, save for the funeral.
"Anywhere is fine with me…as long as I can get chocolate chip pancakes," She said with a tiny smile, closing her eyes. Avalin hummed as he traced over her back, relishing in the touch as she waited quietly for his choice. Really any place truly sounded nice, as long as she was by Loki's side. Eventually, she knew he would probably get sick of her practically being glued to his side, but until then, she was going to spend every possible minute with him to make up for lost time.
He laughed softly and thought for a moment where they could possibly go.
“I think I may know a place.” He said after a couple seconds. “Though it is a bit of a walk from here.” He said hoping that the place he had in mind still was up, despite what happened with Thanos. “We could invite Magnus a small well. I’m sure he does like a bit of a break.” He suggested, knowing this would never make up for what had happened to him but it wasn’t a start.
She nodded, looking up at him with a gentle smile, "Do you think there's a way we could get him his job back? Or at least get him a different job, not as a servant?" Avalin pressed a gentle kiss to Loki's cheek as she waited for an answer, slowly untangling herself from him. If they wanted to get breakfast soon, they would need to get ready. Though she took her time stretching before standing.
He nodded “I was thinking of bringing that up with Thor after we talk about Leif.” He said, loosening his hold on Avalin as she started to detangle herself, he himself shifted out of the bed and tangle of sheets. He stretched and ran a hand through his hair, glancing down as Queening rubbed up against him. “I see you’re just as needy as when you were a kitten.” He cooed, scooping her up and settling her on his shoulders.
The cat mewed happily and settled down on his shoulders, seeming to like the higher view on the world. Spot on the other hand just looked up at the pair as they stood, giving them puppy eyes but staying where he laid. Avalin smiled at the sight, reaching over and petting him before sighing and turning to look for something to wear, "Does that mean I need to be nice to Thor? I suppose saying nice things is going to get him to be more lenient…even if I don't want to do any such thing after what we just went through."
Loki smiled softly and shook his head “no, though I don’t think negative jabs would be received well, no matter how temptingly it may seem. And believe me, it’s tempting.” He took a deep breath and glanced over at Spot, reaching out his hand and nudging his head. He walked over and hugged Avalin from behind, hugging her close to his chest. “Hold the comments until the end, when he can’t take back what he says.” He whispered, hints of his mischievous side showing through. He pressed a kiss to her cheek before letting her go to change
She leaned back into the hug, happily leaning her head back against him even as a tiny smile wormed its way onto her face, "Hmmm..that's smart. I'll have to take more troublemaking tips from you more often, love." Avalin pressed a gentle kiss to his lips before he let her go, taking the time to pick out a comfortable but still slightly formal outfit. It wasn't much, just a pale, gray-colored dress and matching flats, but she smiled when she had it on, pausing for a second before making her way to Loki's clothing and searching through for something, not giving a reason at all.
He chuckled softly And returned the kiss before setting Queenie down and finding clothes and disappearing into the bathroom to change and to give Avalin privacy. He had chosen a black tunic with gold trim and deep blue pants, nearly black as well. He decidedly wore a gold circlet Frigga had given him years before his and Thor’s relationship had started to deteriorate. He hoped it’d guilt trip Thor a bit into agreeing with the arrangement as well as Magnus’ position changes, knowing that any reminder of their mother would loosen his strict ways. Loki felt a bit guilty, deep down still carrying for his brother and full well knowing that’s their mothers death was a very sensitive topic to themselves both, but he had just lost his son. Loki and Avalin needed this. One time to honor their son.
When he stepped out if the bathroom he found Avalin seemingly trying to finding something among his clothes. He stood behind her and glanced over her shoulder. “My love, what are you looking for?”
"Something…" She replied slowly, the same smile on her face as she pulled out one of his nicer green jackets, as well as a blue one. Avalin held them up to her dress, turning to face him, "Which one looks better with this dress?" She turned to look in a mirror after she asked, trying to decide herself before looking back at him again for his opinion. If they were going to meet Thor after breakfast, she wanted to look nice, and comfortable as well. Put together enough to show him that she was serious but comfortable enough that she could focus her attention on not crying instead of making sure she looked good. Because it was inevitable that she would probably spill tears.
Loki arched an eyebrow, following her to the mirror as she went back and forth between the two jackets, very much amused. He shook his head and pressed a kiss to her cheek. “You look beautiful in anything.” He said with a small smile, walking back over to the clothes and pulled a black jacket out. He handed it to her “try this.” He suggested, waving a hand and conjuring a similar circlet with butterflies and flower seeds on it. “And this.”
She took the black jacket and pulled it on, setting the other two back. "How do I look?" Avalin asked gently, setting the circlet on her head before smiling at him, "Minus the uncombed hair. I'll fix that in a minute." She straightened the jacket, then glanced at him again, walking over and looping her arm around him with the same soft smile, "Give me just a second, then we can go."
He smiled at her the same he had done on heir wedding day. He held her close by the waist and pressed a gentle kiss to her lips. “You look like a Goddess my love.” He whispered softly, pressing another kiss to her brow and nodding. “Take your time. We’ve got time.” He reassured her, reluctantly letting her go and sitting down on the bed and playing with spot and Queenie as he waited for Avalin to finish. He didn’t really bother with his hair, mostly just swept it back and tried his best to untangle it.
