"You're not over reacting," Devon sighed, shaking her head slowly. "Why don't we walk down to the lake? I've still got plenty of time before I have to pick Layla up from my parents'."
“Sounds good,” he answered softly.
(Wanna skip?)
Heyo
To when?)
(:D
Hm… When they reach the lake?)
(sure
just more talking?)
(Sounds good!
Would you mind starting this time?)
(not at all! should one of them begin to open up/drop a hint on past trauma?)
(Ooh, that's a good idea. Maybe Seb because he just encountered part of it?)
(Yeah sure insert thumbs-up because I'm not on my phone and can't access emojis without a google search which I'm too lazy for)
Sebastian caught a glimpse of the lake ahead of them. The large expanse of glittering water was admittedly beautiful, and he felt his body relax the moment the calming sound of waves against the shore was audible to them both.
Devon looked out over the water and smiled softly. "I'm surprised it's not frozen over… Well, I suppose it has been pretty warm out lately," she mused with a shrug.
"Yeah.. hopefully it'll only get warmer." Sebastian kept their fingers interlaced as he lead her closer to the shoreline, though he was more interested in how the light played over her beautiful face, than the surface of the water.
"That would be nice. It's hard getting Layla into all of her warm clothes," Devon chuckled, letting him lead her. She was enjoying their time together a lot, and she was really glad he had asked her out.
"Awe," he chuckled, though he was noticeably distracted by the way her irises seemed to capture the golden sunbeams and reflect them back at him.
Devon blushed when she noticed him staring and chewed on her lip a little. “So, um… Thanks for being me out,” she said softly.
(Being me out?)
(* bringing… sigh)
(Oh Oof sorry)
“It’s my pleasure,” he answered sweetly, raising her hand to his lips.
(It’s not your fault. Lol. Autocorrect…)
As it always did, when his lips touched her hand, she felt her breath catch in her throat. How could such a simple act make him seem so sweet?
“Well… The lake is really beautiful today,” she said softly, feeling her cheeks heat up.
“So are you…” he murmured against her fingers. Strangely, he found himself wanting to speak more, to tell her more.
The blush that had been rising to Devon’s cheeks Burt out at his words, and her mouth dropped open slightly as she breathed, “Oh… Thank you…”
"That was– that was okay to say, right?" he confirmed quickly, worried he'd made her uncomfortable. "I didn't overstep?"
“No, no. It was fine. Sorry, I’m just not used to… any of this, I guess,” Devon admitted quietly with a small shrug.
"Don't apologize, there's no need." He offered her a soft smile, squeezed her hand almost…. lovingly.
