"Uhhh…" Sebastian bit his lip in thought. "I guess I'll take the bagel. D'you think I should take the green tea, or the dark chocolate mocha?"
"Uhhh…" Sebastian bit his lip in thought. "I guess I'll take the bagel. D'you think I should take the green tea, or the dark chocolate mocha?"
“With the bagel, probably… Well, probably the tea,” Devon said with a shrug.
He nodded and payed for both meals, handing hers over with a flourish and a tiny bow. Sebastian Timothy Marcellus… you are such a dork. That's when he realized– Devon didn't know his middle name.
Devon laughed lightly and curtsied slightly as she took it. “Why, thank you. Are we ready, then?”
“Definitely.” He lead her to the door, his heart singing with joy. “I just realized— you don’t know my middle name.”
“Oh. Well, you don’t know mine either, do you? I don’t remember telling you,” Devon pointed out with a shrug. “Did you want to tell me?”
“Guess, and I’ll guess yours.” He took an experimental bite of his bagel, immediately finding it delicious.
(Such a contrast, going from Barry and Kasey to here. Lol.)
Devon clicked her tongue and hummed in thought. “Is it… Anthony?”
(Lmao)
He grinned, shook his head. “Try again.”
(Fun fact: Anthony is my brother’s name. Lol.)
“Hm… Tobias?” Devon guessed, sipping on her drink.
(Oh cool)
“Mm…. getting slightly warmer…” He sipped his drink, grinning.
“Tobias… Titus… Timothy?” Devon guesses again, meaning the last name she had said.
Sebastian blinked, surprised. “Timothy. You got it right— but Titus?”
Devon shrugged, blushing a little. “There‘s a kid in Layla’s daycare named Titus. It’s not such a strange name.”
Sebastian raised a dubious eyebrow. “Whatever you say….. alright, now it’s my turn. Elizabeth? Anna?”
Oh frick I got it right, I’d forgotten her middle name)
(Lol.)
“It’s actually Elizabeth. Nice job, Seb,” Devon said with a light laugh.
Sebastian blinked several times. “Really? Woah, I got it right.”
“Mmhm. So… How have you been?” Devon asked, taking a bite of her muffin.
“Better,” he answered, “I’ve been able to take less time working at the garage now that I’ve got these musical gigs. You?”
Devon nodded slowly as she finished her bite. "I've been good. Layla keeps learning new words. She can almost form complete sentences now."
“That’s great!” Sebastian’s heart warmed at the thought of the little girl.
"And she loves her 'Bahstin' doll," Devon chuckled, glancing over to see his reaction. The child was almost never seen without the baby doll she had named after the man.
He reddened considerably, ducking his head. “Oh…. well, I’m glad the name is of value to her.”
Me, too…
"Mmhm… She does love it," Devon said softly, smiling at his now-red cheeks. "She's almost never without it."
