"H-how? We've touched each other before…" Alex knew he was really freaking gay, but Felix? The was no way. This has to have been a mistake. But… the patches are never wrong.
"H-how? We've touched each other before…" Alex knew he was really freaking gay, but Felix? The was no way. This has to have been a mistake. But… the patches are never wrong.
"Have we really?" Felix wispered. "I mean, we always wear clothes and I always wear my gloves and… oh fuck. We have never actually touched each other."
Alex's eyes widened.
"Oh my god." He put his head in his hands.
"I know. We can't be soulmates, we're just best friends for fucks sake, that's all…" Felix said in a small voice. His mind was still spinning.
Alex looked up at Felix.
"You're freaking straight!" He said, gesturing to Felix.
"R-right?"
"Yes! I- for fucks sake, I think I might even be asexual! Definetly not gay!" Felix pressed a balled fist against his own mouth.
Alex ran his hand through his hair, a sure sigh he was starting to panic.
"Then why the hell did this happen?!"
"I don't know…" Felix said in a whining tone. "It can't be a mistake, can it?" He looked up at Alex.
Alex shook his head.
"No…"
Felix was quiet for a while. "So… what do we do now?" He said.
Alex opened his eyes.
"I don't know…" He groaned.
"We could…" Felix hesitated. "We could pretend that it never happened." The credits started to roll on the screen. "We can still be friends like normal, right?" He knew that they probably couldn't, but he said it anyway.
"I guess. Wouldn't people ask about them though?" He gently touched his patch.
"We could say we met someone. Like, I accidentally touched someone in a crowd and I have no idea who it was." He looked at Alex's patch, rainbowy with Felix's favorite color, dark green, extra vibrant.
"And mine..? People usually don't touch other people's faces…" He pulled his knees up to his chest, wrapping his arms around them.
"You got slapped, maybe? At a bar?" He managed to give him a weak smile. "At least it will give you the reputation of a cool bad boy."
Alex managed to laugh.
"I'd love to think people would believe that." He smiled sadly.
"Ugh…" Felix fell back on the sofa, covering his face with a pillow. "Whythehelldidthishavetohappen…"
Alex pulled his knees closer. He hated seeing his friend like this.
"I should go," Felix said after a while of awkward silence. "I gotta… think this through a bit."
Alex nodded.
"See you tomorrow?" He asked tentively.
"Maybe. I guess." He took his bag and walked over to the door. There, he stopped and looked over at his best friend. "I'm really sorry that all this happened, Alex. Bye."
"Bye," Alex replied. He felt guilty. He wasn't sure he was sorry this happened…
Felix closed the door behind him. He walked out to his motorbike and started it, not even remembering to put on his helmet.
Alex buried his face in a pillow. Why wasn't he as upset as Felix was about this?
