"Well, discoloration is inevitable, since you know the blood won't be pumping anymore?" There were already many students at the school, some of the halls already crowded. "But maybe we're just both immortal since we're so picky. We won't have to look good in our caskets because we won't be needing any."
"Mmmm… but sleeping forever sounds so nice, Atlas. I'm exhausted." Rowan laughed softly, leading Atlas through the crowd. "It'd be great."
Eventually, they found their way to a relatively empty area and stopped there. "That does sound pretty nice, not yet though. I haven't been with you long enough." Atlas smiled and turned to kiss Rowan. "There we go, that's the kiss we couldn't have in the car."
Rowan returned the kiss and sighed. "Ugh… fiiiine… I guess I'll stick around a while longer. We gotta get to class, though. You know how pissy Mrs. Davis gets."
Atlas smiled, taking Rowan's hand, out of habit. "Thanks, love. But yeah, let's go." He said looking up at Rowan.
Rowan led the way to their first class, which they had together. He brought Atlas inside and sat beside him.
After what always felt like forever, the class was over and the couple and to part ways. Atlas had band so he had to head to the opposite side of the school.
"See you later, Atlas." Rowan waved and headed off to his own class: math. He hated it, but it wasn't like he had a choice.
Atlas waved and blew a kiss before heading to band with haste. It was always better to be early to that class. He was decently early, like always. He set up his spot and assembled his clarinet.
Math class was slow, as usual, but Rowan got through it. He left when the bell rang and hung out at Atlas's locker to wait for him.
In an unusually good mood, Atlas strode over to his locker. He had a seemingly permanent smile on his lips. "Hello, love!"
"Chipper today, are we?" Rowan smiled softly himself and got out of Atlas's way. "Was band good?"
"It sure was! Today we got a new song and it's one of the best the director has given us. We did a sight-read through and I can just tell this is gonna be great." Atlas explained, opening his locker.
Rowan nodded a bit. He knew next to nothing about music, but he was glad that Atlas enjoyed it so much. "Well, hopefully you'll enjoy it. I'm sure I'll be hearing a lot of it."
"Oh yeah, you probably will be. And you'll obviously be going to the concert, so you'll hear it in all of its glory." Atlas grabbed what he needed and closed his locker. As per usual, he took Rowan's hand.
"Mhmm." Rowan laced his fingers with Atlas's and sighed happily. "Ready to head to our next class?"
"I guess so. Hhh let's go." Atlas looked up at his boyfriend before starting on their way to their next class, which was science. At least they were in their chemistry unit and that meant more lab work with partners.
Rowan sat down beside Atlas and sighed. "Maybe we'll do something interesting today, at least…" He drummed his fingers on his desk a bit.
"I'm pretty sure we're doing an experiment today. Not sure how interesting it'll be, but at least we'll be on our own instead of it being a lecture." These desks were tables in rows, two chairs per table. This was honestly Atlas' favorite regular class. He leaned his head on Rowan's shoulder while they waited for the starting bell to ring.
"Hopefully it's fire." Rowan grinned, his eyes shining. He'd been known to be a bit of a pyromaniac in the past, but he insisted it really wasn't that big of a deal.
"Hopefully it's not fire, we don't need a burned down school because you decided fire looked cool. Besides, I highly doubt you have enough money to pay for the rebuilding of a school this size." Atlas said, turning his head a little, still leaning against Rowan.
Rowan stuck his tongue out playfully. "Don't be so dramatic. Most of the school is made of cinderblocks anyways, so I can't exactly burn it down."
Atlas stuck out his tongue back. "I live for being overdramatic. Anyway, you could still do some serious damage to the school, even if it didn't burn completely to the ground."
"Yeah, yeah… we'd probably get it under control by then, so like… whatever." Rowan looked up as the teacher started talking about the lab, in which they were making smore's using some kind of safe chemical fire.
"Oh that's lame," Atlas whispered in Rowan's ear. The teacher finished going over the instructions then set them loose to the lab. At that point, no one even bothered asking either of them to be partners since Atlas and Rowan were always working together.
